Comfy and Confident
Beginner swimmer here. Wasn’t a fan of wearing “speedos” or other tight fitting swim shorts at the local pool. These are comfortable and I don’t feel too self conscious walking to and from the pool every morning.

Good for a swimmer
My son love it, the materiel is extremely comfortable. It’s really help for his daily practice.

Best fitness swim trunks for bigger guys.
These are fitness swim trunks for lap swimmers, they are not beach shorts. I’m a bigger guy swimming for fitness. I can’t stand the drag and bunching of typical men’s trunks or board shorts while swimming laps. But I don’t want to wear jammers or swim briefs (speedos). These are the perfect in-between. They have very little drag, a short inseam that covers just enough, and are thin and short enough that they don’t bunch up in your crotch. Also, they don’t have side pockets that balloon out and cause drag. I’ve looked for other alternatives and they aren’t out there. Don’t hesitate to buy.

Nice swim trunks, but not color fast
These trunks are very comfortable, great for lap swimming. Unfortunately, after using them in an indoor salt-water pool for a few months, the black trunks I bought originally are now light grey.

from a retired swimmer's perspective
Bottom line - Fits well and performs at expectations. Use: I competitively swam for 15 years - twice a day, indoor / outdoor, constant smell of chlorine, etc. I'm old now :) - I simply swim to stay somewhat active since running is just not an indigenous activity. Also, like any father, I've packed on a few pounds. I was sick of the dragsuits I was wearing, and saw these while shopping and gave them a try. If you are a lap swimmer with a competitive background and don't care to wear briefs, jammers, traditional dragsuits and the like anymore, I think these are a more modest and great alternative. In addition, they will still allow for a great workout, ie, you won't notice any difference when doing your intervals, IMs, turns, etc. Feel: The material is definitely light, it floats a bit. It is very similar to dragsuits in the 90's (before mesh) without the elastic band around the thigh. There is a liner, however, it will not do the trick if you're doing laps. So, if you're a swimmer you'll wear your brief underneath as you always have. For those of you who are not familiar with drag suits, buy a brief (3 or 4" inseam) to wear underneath this suit for some security. You will definitely feel naked if you don't wear something. There's a key pocket on the left side - similar to running shorts - that I don't have a need for But I didn't notice it while swimming. Finally, the elastic on the waste is similar to running shorts in contrast to a "speedo." There is a drawstring, so it is business as usual for lap swimming. Material: It's nylon, but again, it's light. I'm guessing it will have average durability. If it lasts the year I'll be happy at this price. With prime I bought significantly below the list price. If not, I'll buy another without much heartache. Fit: I'm 6'2", 190 lbs, 34" waist for pants/jeans. I bought a large (rated for 36-38" hip) and it's a great fit. Not too baggy. For other TYR suits, I typically get a 36". If you're a veteren swimmer, master's swimmmer, or regular lap swimmer looking for alternatives to briefs/jammers/dragsuits, give these a try.

Great short lenght
Size 33 waist and medium fit great. Liner is limited to the front and provide minimal support, liner could be a little more snug and form fitting.

a tighter fit actually makes you like better. So I went with large and am ...
I didn't buy it through Amazon, but have had these shorts for nearly 2 years now. I'm 5'10 and 195lbs. I think by the sizing chart, most people my size would go for the XL, but past experience with other swim shorts, a tighter fit actually makes you look better. So I went with large and am happy with the fit and look. I actually think it looks good on me! Functionally, it works great for lap swimming. It's advertized as adding resistance, but I don't really notice. Although the only other shorts I use for lap swimming are Uzzi's, which are bulky looking compared to these TYR's. Aesthetically, it looks nice. I'm not the most in shape guy, but the cut and material of these shorts and how it lays on my body really helps me to actually look good lol. Not really into the tight biker shorts or banana hammocks, but also not into board shorts for lap swimming , even if they are the shorter varity and not the ridiculously long ones that go to your knee caps. I got the black, navy blue and royal blue. I mostly use the black and navy blue as I am somewhat conservative. The royal blue looks a bit too lively for my taste. The material is thin and silky, which is good! I almost don't notice them on me, very comfortable. I haven't had problems with fading and I lap swim 5 to 7 days a week 2000 to 4000 yards a day. I do rinse them out in the shower each time and wash in the machine. Also, I only have these two shorts for the past couple years, so they see heavy use and have held up great. I am now buying another set as a "just in case". Would highly recommend these shorts.

As close to perfect as possible
I'm a master's swimmer, training four days a week in a chlorine swimming pool, mostly outdoors. I have been struggling for a long time to find comfortable training swim pants that are not as revealing as briefs or jammers, but which are not heavy or restrictive in any way. And at long last I found these! PROS: Very good fit (true to size) Very comfortable Non-revealing Super, super light - it's like swimming naked! Unnoticeable drag Durable (I have been swimming in mine for more than four monts; no fading or change in texture) Super quick drying CONS The only thing is perhaps the shiny material, together with the style/shape that makes it look like satin pajamas. I will probably not wear these at the beach or at a swimming pool party (who would in any training pants?), but I don't feel ashamed a bit to wear them in public for training (at the swimming squad, gym, etc.)

Like it, but two major failing points with the product
When they are new, everything seems to be fine. They are definitely comfortable and no constriction like other swimwear. Eventually, they fail with two problems. One issue is fading. Other users mentioned that as well a lot. And I think that the product was holding to color better six years ago. Please refer to the picture with the waistband and white string. You can still see some original color (blue), the rest is greyish blue. That was just from 6 trips to the public swimming pool. The second issue is rubber bands from the inner lining, that go around the legs. They are breaking apart eventually. It's actually not a regular braided elastic band, it's just a black rubber band. If it were the braided elastic band (as most of the swimwear has), it would be fine for much longer. Please refer to the pictures. Rated it 4 because there is no alternative to this particular style.

Disgusting
I received this bathing suit in a ziplock style package. When I opened the baggy I found the suit covered in some type of hair. I thought at first maybe it was just a few, but then I looked further inside to find these hairs completely covering the suit inside and out. Thanks for the used bathing suit. Absolutely disgusting!
