Incedibly Effecitve
I have never written a review, I felt this product was worth a share. Background ; I work in a technical capacity , Electrical & Mechanical and had low expectations for this product. The Problem with many portable home AC units: The HOT air exhaust is just below the COLD air intake, the exhaust hose on my unit becomes almost too hot to the touch during operation, so the cold air intake is drawing heated air in that it must then cool to make you comfy. Additionally the HOT air exhaust duct going to your window or wall is radiating heat BACK into the room as well just like a heater. AC or Heater, which one is it? Is this good for your portable AC room cooling Efficiency: NO, it increases cost and impacts the ability of the unit to do it's desired function, COOL Your Room with a typical hose found on most. Results, two areas of interest: NOISE: I immediately noticed a reduction in the horrible noise and oscillation from my AC unit , I could not hold a Zoom call in my office it was so distracting with R2D2 ( my ac unit nick name) placed 10 Feet away. After the Sock install I was able to hold a Zoom call with no issues. I did not expect this at all. Noise down at least 30 percent on my unit I would ball park guess. Now that I think about it, all of the vibration / sound was being transmitted through the exhaust duct, and the ribs were vibrating acting like amplifiers also sending noise back into the room along with HEAT. It makes sense in reflection. COOLING: The unit cooled my room but not aggressively without the sock the previous summer, after the sock install the exhaust hose was only slightly warm to the touch, previously almost too hot to hang on too! I live in Desert with 120 deg heat in summer peak, All that heat was being transferred back into the room, like a dog chasing their tail. Wow, I don't know what they are using for insulation? It's thin but VERY effective on my unit. Now the room QUICKLY gets cold, the unit cycles on and off frequently, previously it just ran wide open and almost never cycled. What a difference. Definitely Noticeable and using less energy obviously as well. DOWN SIDE: If you could call it that, The Sock is not easy to install, it may take two people, It certainly did in my case. But this is why it was effective for noise in the end as it grips the hose reducing vibration and heat transmission. My install Approach: ( yours may vary) Remove hose end couplers , collapse hose fully and push the collapsed hose carefully to the center of the sock one person holding the sock one person pushing. Then gently expand one end of the collapsed hose a bit at a time inside the sock, then the other side until the hose is completely expanded, push the sock excess back over the hose to install the couplers (hose ends) or fold over as in my case. Install hose and fold back any excess to cover anything you can with the excess if available. There is no Give to the sock, so patience is key. On that note, the maximum bend radius will be slightly reduced due to the new cover, so if you are using very tight bends beware, 35 deg bend was possible for my install only, rough estimate. Certainly nothing beyond 45 deg seems possible in quick tests I performed. Overall: Astonished with my NEW ac unit, I am now wondering why these are not included on these types of AC from the manufacturer, I am very happy with my decision to take a chance. My experience: Quieter, Cooler, Less energy usage.

Well worth the price
Makes a huge difference in the amount of heat being dumped back into the room, and reduces the fan noise a decent bit too. No issues installing it on a 6" hose- took less than a minute following the directions.

Noticeable Difference
Exhaust hose normally 95 degrees and higher. The cover has it around 82 degrees. Easy to install follow directions. Great Product

MUST follow installation instructions, does what it says on the tin
Overall? This does what it says it will do: it insulates the air intake hose to your A/C to prevent it from heating up the interior of your home. I rate it an A+ at that. It can be a pain to install, as some reviews state, but that means you have to make extra sure to follow the instructions. The installation instructions tell you to detach the hose, scrunch it up, shimmy the sleeve on, and then pull the hose through the other end of the sleeve. There is no other way to do it. The sleeve is a tight fit on the hose and you won’t be able to scoot it along a fully extended hose. Before I got this sleeve I just had a deep-winter blanket wrapped loosely around the hose. I can say with confidence this looks eight times better and works ten times better at keeping the hot air out. The construction of the product itself is a stretchy polyester fabric sleeve with what feels like some thin foam sheeting inside. So, pretty cheap stuff and simple idea. $50 does seem like a lot for this, but I guess the alternative is to make it yourself, after all that effort I know $50 would look much easier to me.

Works perfectly
It works so well! I got this for my new AC unit because my tube due to placement had to be stretched almost 5 feet and standing near the AC unit you could feel the heat. I got this and you can't feel any heat even holding your hand 2 inches away from the cover! temp in my room went down by an easy 10 degrees and I think the AC unit had to run less to keep the room cool so I'm sure I saved some money on power there too which in turn probably paid for this cover by itself! Highly HIGHLY recommend.

As described
This was as described however I didn’t really notice a difference in the effectiveness of the aC. It is possible it runs less and uses less electricity. In the first room where I had it - still couldn’t keep up even with the sleeve. That said, the outside of the sleeve is cool to the touch even though the hose is hot inside. I would recommend this because quality is good and it was easy to install.

GREAT
I previo0usly used a foil wrap that had a grey gummy contact coating that also created an isolation barrier, but it is roughly 10 inches wide and was extremely hard to wrap around a have line that has curves and angles (left lots of openings). I am amazed a6t how efficient this cover is at covering the entire line without gaps and it doesn't seem to emit virtually no heat to speak of, off its outer layer. Seems to be a great product, but 'is' rather expensive!!!!

Saves money, energy, and blocks light. Works as described, easy install for 5" duct.
Highly recommended. A number of reviewers mentioned it was difficult to install for a 6" duct. Our portable a/c has a smaller 5" duct, and the cover easily installed over it and there was ample room for a 90-degree bend. I can see how it might be a bit tight for a larger diameter 6" hose, though. After using the a/c with the cover, there is a noticeable difference in the cooling performance - before hand, there was a significant delay in cooling and we would always turn the set temperature down to compensate. Now, we can keep the a/c at a comfortable temperature and it reaches that threshold quickly and maintains it without significant fluctuation. Will definitely save us money in the long run! Also, a big bonus is that the cover blocks light coming in through the duct - we have a south-facing bedroom and light would always fill our duct (which is white plastic and not thick enough to block light) and light up the room, almost like a lantern. Bad for sleep quality if you like to sleep in, as I do. But this blocks out all of the light!

Does the trick!
It’s a bit hard to get the hose through at first, but once it’s on, the difference in efficiency is noticeable! It’s expensive, yes, but well made and of good quality materials and stitching. Also solves the problem of sunlight warming the room through the vent hose on a west-facing patio door. I’m using it on my LG air conditioner, so not just for Delonghi ACs.

Great product.
It fits quite snug on the hose. I put it on myself, but two people would be better. I put the black end towards the outlet end. When the AC was first turned on the cover felt a little warm, after the room tempurature has leveled off the cover feels only slightly warm.

Works great
Honestly this should be a part of any air conditioning kit, it works great. I'm only giving 4 stars because the price is unreasonable ????

Very efficient !
This cover keeps heat in portable air conditioner hose from heating up room. The hot air vents out making for more efficient air cooling.

Works great!
When I received it I thought "wow this isn't very thick I don't think it will work". Boy was I wrong! It does a fantastic job of insulation. The whole corner of the room was hot before, now I can't even notice a difference in temperature at all. Works amazingly well. Would definitely recommend and purchase again if I need another one. A little tricky to slide on, it's doable but 2 people would be easier.
