Quality and soft

The new bed I bought was slightly too firm, still needs to be broken in. But in the meantime I needed a pad because I’m used to sleeping on a pillow top mattress and the new medium foam mattress was hurting my shoulder when I slept on my side. Which is usually do. So I got this brand since I saw it on the mattress firm website so I figured if they sold it it must be decent quality I could trust. And it was cheaper on Amazon. I did still have to get used to it not being a bouncy pillow top, but since adjusting I do love my bed now. Also for anyone looking for good sheet recommendations I would suggest the casaluna supima sateen ( fairly soft silky feel with deep pockets), or the Cariloha resort sheets (viscose bamboo). I am picky and have tried a bunch of different sheets. Oh I also recommend the Buffy cloud duvet from personal use and the brooklinen sateen duvet cover. I’m sure they’re sheets and other products are good as well but I’ve purchased those and can say I loved them. All quality brands.

Help for those that don't expand

I ordered and received this topper this week and within 24 hours of unwrapping it, the majority of the foam had expanded fully. But the edges at either end were still compressed, and I was beginning to despair of being able to use it. So I came here to see if there were any suggestions, and I found two: *make sure it is warm *manually manipulate the compressed sections So I grabbed my blow dryer and proceeded to try the warming method. No go. So then I put a space heater in the room with it, closed the door, and waited. Checked back about 30 minutes later and sure enough the room was WARM, but still no change on the topper. So even though it seemed counterintuitive (why smash that which already smashed?), I figured what the heck, grabbed the compressed parts, and began to squish them around in my hands as hard as I could. I pressed and rolled and squeezed - and then it began to happen! Evidently the action of just manipulating the foam broke some kind of seal or vapor lock or static pressure, and within minutes the entire topper was completely expanded! No pulling apart manually required, or any other heroic measures - just work it a little then stand back and wait. Needless to say, I was thrilled. I went from "Oh crap, got a defective one and have to deal with trying to return it" to "TA-DA!! It's magic!" I have only slept on it one night, but so far I am very happy with the way it feels. I have it on top of a sleep number C3 (thinnest layer of memory foam, which I *thought* was what I needed, but it wound up being too hard) and this has saved me from buying the thicker one. I needed it firm, but not completely unyielding - and that's exactly what I have now.

Lucid is a high-quality company

Lucid 3 inch mattress topper came thoughtfully packaged with ease of unboxing and airing out in mind. I was able to open it easily with just my hands, though I later found the helpful plastic letter opener cutting tool they included. I would recommend you use scissors or the tool and cut/slice at the top area of extra plastic to avoid gauging the foam. The instructional materials/warranty were high quality. Very comfortable sleeping experience, and the topper easily fit inside the regular twin size zipped mattress protector I used to cover both it and the mattress. I recommend this product if you are looking for a brand-name level of quality in a mattress topper, at a budget-friendly price. If you are on the heavier side, note that this is a very plush topper and will sink in towards the weight. It is still fluffing back up to full cushioning every night, after one month of use; no permanent dents which I’ve seen with cheap toppers.

Expanded Immediately

Ordered the 3” topper yesterday, came in today and expanded fully in less than 3 minutes. Have left it out to expand for about 6 hours so far and it hasn’t changed so pretty sure it did it’s full expansion job right after opening it. Zero Smell and I have a very sensitive nose. Haven’t slept on it yet- will update later. Installing over memory foam mattress that is just too firm for my taste. Will add soft mattress pad over it and see how it goes. So far, so good! ***Update: have slept on it two nights and the difference is amazing. I’m sleeping much more soundly, comfortably and don’t wake up with nearly as much pain. If you have chronic pain, you need this. Sleep is very important for the healing process.

It gets better with time!

At first I didn't like it at all as it didn't feel as nice as I remembered memory foam feeling. It was just weird and not squishy at all. I thought maybe I'd keep it for the air mattress my adult son sleeps on because it could benefit from a topper since it's lacks plushness. So after over a month of him laying on it the foam became VERY nice, soft and plush and not as tough and weird as it did in the beginning. It did take slightly longer than 48 hours for it to fully expand but it definitely filled out completely. Now I want to buy a one inch topper and use it on my pillow top mattress that I originally had the 3 inch topper on. I'd definitely recommend this topper.

Very comfortable for those with back pain

I put this on top of a memory foam mattress. After reading all the reviews about it not expanding completely I was nervous. I had it under a ceiling fan on low and even had a window open. It was fully expanded in about 12 hours. When I was finally able to sleep on it it felt so good to lie down on it. I believe I only woke up once to change my sleeping position compared to 4 times or more. With the extra 3 inches I was afraid my short and stubby pit bull wouldn't be able to get up on it but she could so all is well. Looking forward to much better rest. Hopefully it lasts a ling time.

No more back pain

This 3” topper has made sleeping on a hard mattress comfortable again. I was previously waking up with back pain, and couldn’t get comfortable to fall asleep. Now I’m comfy and even able to sleep in late when my schedule allows it. So worth every penny. There was minor odor the first couple of nights. I didn’t want to wait to air it out use it b/c I was so desperate for comfort. It puffed up fine. I massaged / pinched one area that was sort of flat and that fixed it. Also, it stays in place with just a sheet on top.

PRESSURE RELIEF, PLUSH and COMFORTABLE. PURCHASED A KING THEN A TWIN!!

The media could not be loaded. I like a soft bed. Softer the better. Purchased a king topper for our bed and liked it so much we purchased a twin for the spare room for when one of us is snoring we can bail to the next comfortable bed and still sleep great. I am a side sleeper, 130lbs and fit. Husband is a side sleeper, 230 lbs, 6 foot and muscular. We both have different sleeping needs because of our weight difference so choosing a bed was difficult. We purchased a Juno bed in a box mattress because my husband likes a medium firm mattress… So he thought! Our Juno bed arrived and it felt like we were sleeping on cement! I didn’t sink it at all because of my weight. My hips hurt as did my shoulders. I also have arthritis in my bottom spine at 42 years old! The bed was way too hard as I expected so we added this topper and it made all the difference for both of us. It softens things up. Both my husband and I enjoy it quite a bit. It turned our bed into complete comfort. It did take a while to get used to because you sink into it so there is ZERO bounce combined with our foam mattress. I chose the 3 inch topper because I thought with his weight and my weight combined the 4 inch might be a little too much and the 2 inch would not be enough. I am happy with the 3 inch. I look forward to sleeping every night now. I did sleep in another bed and immediately I felt all the pressure points in my hips and shoulders. This topper relieves all of my pressure points. Very happy with the purchase. Upon unwrapping the topper it was quite compressed in a variety of areas. I did help puff up using a warm dryer which took care of every flat spot. It puffed up fully in all areas and did expand to the complete size of the bed. Slept on it the first night.

One of the best mattress pads

Great option in place of mattress. Definitely worth the price but one can still feel the stiff mattress placed beneath this pad. However it certainly is a great great buy for ones who need a bit of softness to their existing mattress bt donot wish to compromise buying a new one.. This model doesn't come with a cover so I had to separately purchase a mattress protector worth ₹1200. Also a mattress protector was important to purchase otherwise it gets very easy to catch dust and dirt. Feels slightly hot underneath but anytime better than normal memory foams which have not air circulation.

2" Not thick enough for side sleepers

I'm 5'10" and weigh about 175 pounds. I purchased a new bed and it turned out it be too firm and my hips started to hurt. I was in pain getting out of bed in the mornings. I ordered a Lucid 2" gel foam mattress topper and I really like it. I had a three inch topper from another company years ago and it was comortable but because you sunk in to it, the heat was so bad I couldn't sleep. The Lucid 2" was firm enough to support my body weight but there isn't enough depth to cradle my hips. You sleep cool but my hips were "bottoming out" so to speak. I would expect the 3" would be the correct thickness for my weight. I have a down plush pillow top mattress topper so I put it on the bed mattress then put the Lucid on top of that. So far so good. The trick with these mattress toppers for side sleepers is to find the right thickness to give you good support but also, will cradle your hips so they don't hit bottom. You don't want to sink in to these toppers. No matter what they tell you if you sink in to it, you will experience a lot of heat. You only want your hips to sink in, not your whole body.

We bought a new spring and foam semi firm (7) mattress from Emma, the hybrid climax and found it a little too firm, although by the time we took delivery of this topper we had both grown accustomed to that firmness and actually liked it, anyways we tried this out on top and wow it really is very nice. I am 280 pounds and this 3 inch supports me perfectly, My hips and shoulders now align perfectly and it is so soft and luxurious. my wife is still undecided after 1 week so who knows, I love it the wife not so much but willing to give it another week.
