Broken Design for Standard Oval Plugs WITH ONLY ONE CENTRAL SCREW
First let me say I'm not kidding, crazy, or exaggerating, and I honestly have no interest in any outlet cover company; I could care less other than my child being safe. I completely agree with a previous reviewer that this outlet cover does not sit flush with wall IF YOUR OUTLET IS THE STANDARD OVAL SHAPED OUTLET WITH ONE CENTRAL SCREW (as opposed to two screws at top & bottom of cover). My outlets I believe are very very common --- those oval type plugs: flat on top and bottom of each plug with curved arc along right and left sides. So when I took off the existing cover and pressed the Home Safety "Universal" Outlet Cover to the wall (without screw at first), it was not flush. Then, I tried screwing it in as tight as I could (I even thought I stripped the screw) and could not get the edges to sit flush against the wall AFTER AT LEAST 5 TRIES. Thus, the edges were quite loose (not just a little) with a 1 mm gap all the way around (a small spider could get through). I even tried modifying the design by cutting off the small plastic spacers on the back side of the cover, hoping they were the issue --- but no cigar. After further analysis, I determined that the "cut-out" (recessed area) on the rear of the plate is too shallow. I kid you not. I rarely review items, but this design appears so flawed that I had to speak up. I can never understand why something like this would get so many 4 and 5 stars ... On a totally different topic --- I once made purchase decisions after reading/tabulating reviews. I'm not suggesting reviews are bogus for this product (I have no idea), as it probably works well for those who rate it high. Just as an aside, please google "how to tell fake reviews on Amazon or products". Bottom line -- decide for yourself. Again, I have no interest in other companies, am not a former employee, etc. I first purchased two "Mommy's Helper" outlet covers which fit perfectly (rear cut out EXACTLY CONFORMS TO MY STANDARD OVAL TYPE OUTLET) and it's deeper ----- I then bought these which I assumed were the same product from the frontal appearance. But they are not. This outlet cover that I'm reviewing has a rectangular type cut out that is supposed to accomodate all types of outlets. Perhaps it works for the newer (rectangular) outlets but not mine. Our home was built around 1980. I hope my investment of over 30 minutes on a Saturday night at least helps others. Try buying one first of each brand then seeing which one fits better.

2.5 years of continued use without fail
We have been using these outlet covers for 2.5 years now. We ordered two 3-packs, so we have six of them in use in the living room, play nook, and children's bedroom. In our experience, they were easy to install, sit flush on the wall, and have always functioned properly. Our 6 year old still can't figure out how to plug things into these outlets, so we have no concerns of little fingers going in the outlet. We have never had issues with the slide cover snapping back properly and promptly. We have also never had any issues with plugs coming out on their own, not fitting in all the way, or being too loose. We have had 2-prong, 3-prong, straight plugs, lay flat plugs, and adjustable plugs (the kind that can go in at a 90 degree angle or straight on) in use with these outlets without issue. After 2.5 years of regular use and no issues, these are a solid 5 stars for us and I would not hesitate to recommend them or purchase them again.

Serves the purpose
I bought this product because we have Decora outlets, and it will accommodate both Decora or Standard outlets (2 screws top and bottom vs. one central screw). It did that just fine. Do make sure that your outlet is screwed tight before you install the cover. Several of ours were loose and sat out from the wall, which made me panic for a minute that it would not fit flush to the wall, a problem others have commented on. Tighten the outlet first! Aside from that, this serves the purpose, and I only have two small complaints: 1) the white paint on the screws scratches easily, leaving a not so perfect finished look; 2) the cover is about half an inch narrower and shorter than the Decora outlet covers in our house, so if your house was repainted with the outlet covers on (as some of our rooms were), a frame of the old paint color will show around the outlet.

Good product, BUT...
The quality of this product is OK and will work as needed/expected BUT if you are expecting the quality of the Safety First brand you will be slightly let down. The price is wonderful and the outlet covers will work, but I had trouble with the screws provided. The longest one, meant to be used in the center of the cover, is too long. The shortest ones (2), meant to be used at the top and bottom of a "decorator" type outlet, are too short to use in the middle hole. The one I removed from the plain, non-safety, outlet cover is the only one that worked and it was JUST long enough and I had to push hard to get it to go into the hole. I have been able to get these safety covers to work but was slightly annoyed at the difficulty in getting them installed.

Plugs come unplugged easily.
These are nice to have easy access to the electrical outlet, and when the item plugged in is unplugged, they slide right back into place, thus protecting the outlet again. I did only give them 4 stars because the fit wasn't that great over the outlet, some have gaps around the edges, and because it extends the reach the plug needs in order to get power just enough that many items I plug in Come unplugged on their own. Just a minor inconvenience to have my plugs protected.

A must have for babyproofing!
I think I have tried almost every outlet safety product on the market and I love this one! No broken fingernails or misplaced plug-in protectors (which hurt pretty badly if you step on one in the middle of the night!). These outlet protectors are super easy to install, don't look hideous, are easy to use, AND they increase the energy efficiency of your home. There is a similar type of product that you rotate the plug like a key, rather than sliding it to the side, but they are much higher profile (stick out from the wall more). I have had these covers in my home for more than a year and have yet to have one break. I definitely recommend these to anyone with a child or one on the way!

Good product but With a major flaw
It does what it’s intended to do that is blocking kids from sticking their fingers and foreign objects into outlets. However, in saying that when ever you need to plug in an electrical device, the depth of the cover plate doesn’t allow plugs to go fully in to the receptacle... as a result anything you plug in falls out very easily.

Great product.
I love these outlet covers! Great for anyone with kids or anyone like me that can’t rewire the electrical. Just unscrew the current plate and screw this one on. It’s as easy as that! The ONLY reason I didn’t give this product a 5 star is because the white cane off part of the screw (as seen in photo) which is minor but still... perhaps the company can make a slight change in order for it to stay on better. It must be a design flaw as my other ones did this too. Otherwise, it’s a great product! Now, if only I could find a double one for my other outlet :)

Prefer other brands
The media could not be loaded. Compared to another version I had bought of these, the covers seem way too easy to slide open. We'll see how long until my inquisitive child has fun sliding these open and shut - I'm not confident in their ability to childproof anything. It seems like I can plug things in deep enough (contrary to other reviews) but the plate does not sit flush against the wall.

Not enough screws
Overall, this set of 3 covers is good & looks nice. But this set of 3 covers I ordered only came with one set of screws = can only install one of the three covers. With 3 covers in the pack, the manufacturer should provide 3 sets of screws (one set per cover).

Dangerous product
These covers sit in a way that prevents a proper connection when in use and the cover melted from having something plugged into it. The outlet was formerly trouble free when it had a standard plate on it. DO NOT buy these. They are dangerous.
