Decent

These are decent and they get the job done. I like the different time intervals, and they are clearly marked. They are however a bit cheaply constructed (some of the end caps are slightly askew). It can also be a little difficult to see the sand falling for the lighter colors. They work fine, I just wish they were a tiny bit better quality.

This is not a 5 minute timer. This is a 5 minute and 10 second timer

Although this is not an accurate timer, I’m deciding to give this a 5 star review because it is a good deal. With this timer, you have paid for a 5 minute timer but the manufacturer was nice enough to add 10 seconds. It is a 5 minute and 10 second timer. See the attached photos for when I timed the timer. I also had each timer compete against each other in a race. There was one that may have been a 5 minute and 15 second timer and that one finished last. I performed these tests on a completely level surface (see the picture of the level in the background) so there was no gradient error. I also controlled for different pressure systems by performing this test in my living room. there could not have been wind. Some may point out the the electronic timer I timed the timers on may not keep accurate time. The manufacturer of the electronic timer is Apple. They are a good company but there is no way to know which timer is accurate. I would recommend taking advantage of this deal.

Great little two minute timers for playing games with slow players or using with kids or in classrooms

5 Minute Timer Stops Working Sometimes.

All of these timers are great. I bought them to use for Dungeons and Dragons, and the 5 minute timer tends to get stuck regularly. Maybe I got a defective one? The other three in the set work well. (as well as the 90 second timers I also bought). The low price coupled with the amount of space they take made this an instant purchase for me since I already have enough screens in my set up to operate. The colors also make it very easy to figure out which one is which at a glance. I highly recommend them, just be wary of the longer duration timers. I suspect the sand gets stuck due to how thin the tunnel is for them, as it's visually apparent when compared between the different durations. The failure of the 5 minute timer is not a deal breaker for me as I rarely use it. I tested them against a digital stopwatch as well. There's a fair amount of variance, but for what I'm doing it gets the job done. Can't be too picky about exactness of a 1-2 dollar hourglass though.

Decent enough timers

Although very toy-like, at around $1.24 each, these are good enough for their purpose. The glass timer is inside a plastic tube, attached to plastic stand ends. I wouldn't expect them to break if they hit the floor, but stepping or sitting on it likely would. The time is printed on both ends and having them colored is nice, especially with the 3-minute timer since you can barely read the white print on the yellow end caps. Like most sand timers, don't expect total accuracy, but they all come close enough to their stated times. I tested all four multiple times, and while the speed varies with any given use, they all finished within plus or minus 10 seconds. However, I've found the 1-minute timer sometimes gets bottle-necked and stops. I haven't noticed this with the 2 or 3-minute ones though (don't really use the 5-minute). I only use these when lifting weights to time my rest in between, so it's not that critical, but something to take into account if the timer isn't in constant view. Otherwise they're still worth it for the price and function.

Excelente opción

Son una gran opción para fines educativos o de entretenimiento. Incluso algunas actividades simples de cocina o deportes. En mi caso yo uso algunos para nuestras tardes de juegos de mesa y así definir ciertos tiempos para los turnos. Ya que si has jugado juegos de nesa regularmente, sabes que no falta el que tarda en hacer su jugada pensándolo cómo si jugará 3 partidas de ajedrez al mismo tiempo. Todos funcionan bien. Materiales simples, pero aceptables. Algunos se sienten algo más flojos, pero no le veo mayor problema por el precio del set. Y hay 4 variedades de tiempos. Claro, la precisión como en la mayoría de los relojes de arena tiene sus márgenes de error. Pero esto se especifica claramente en una etiqueta. Si tú intención es obtener precisión, está no es una opción. Para otros fines, no lo pienses.

Inexacto pero funcional.

Inexacto, pero funcional. Material delicado. Sirven para darse una idea, no tanto si buscas precisión. Ideal para que los peques se interesen en medir el tiempo. (En la imagen muestro el tiempo que duró cada uno verificado con un cronómetro).

Excelente para juegos de mesa ágiles.

Los compramos para los juegos de mesa, cumplen perfectamente su función. Nos gusta usar el de 1 min. Y el de 90 seg. Compramos todo el set para saber que tiempo nos acomodaba en los juegos. Los juegos ahora son más ágiles y divertidos. Vamos a comprar más de 1 min., porque cuando sobra tiempo de 1 jugador, queremos empezar inmediatamente a contar el tiempo del siguiente jugador. Creo que no es buena idea tenerlos guardarlos en los baños para que los niños se laven los dientes como se sugiere, porque la humedad los dañará fácilmente. Relación calidad y precio, excelente. Si recomiendo este producto.

CAUTION - ATTENTION: MADE OF BREAKABLE GLASS We were using it with our kids until one of them accidently dropped it on the floor. The inside broke and lots of little pieces of glass went on the floor. The outside is made of plastic but the inside part is made of glass. This can be dangerous.
