comfort zone, 3 speed ,12 in. fan
runs silently, cools my med. size room on low speed. Well made all metal. Even these good fans are using thinner, lighter weight metal. I decided to stock up good fans before the makers start to downsize on quality to so-called keep their costs down. The plastic fans also got real expensive while being too light & cheaply made & box fans are so flimsy & easily tip over....from my experience. Now back to the comfort zone fan; it is thinner metal this year, not too thin. No noise at all, really moves air.. I think it will pay for itself, saving on AC & utilities in 2 seasone in Florida. Saves on A.C. Use & utilities. Ella Hall

Not loud, not quiet, just right
I am picky when it comes to fans. More particularly fans for my bedroom. When it comes to me, the louder the fan the better. My wife on the other hand, would prefer to sleep with no fan on at night. This creates a problem to finding the perfect fan for us. This one is that fan. On high it is just loud enough for me to like it, but its quiet enough for the wife that it doesnt affect her sleep. It seems like its decent enough quality. The fan blades and cage are metal, but the switch is plastic and feels cheap. I knocked it down to 4 stars because the one thing that annoys me is that it comes with one knob "tool" to tighten or loosen the nuts that make the fan swivel. Really...how much does that save over just putting a knob on each side like most other fans for the convenience? Now I have to keep this knob zip tied to the fan so I dont lose it, unless I want to use wrenches every time I want to adjust how tight it swivels. All in all it's a good fan, but I'm getting really tired of all these big shot bean counters trying to literally save pennies just to make themselves look better at the inconvenience to the consumer.

This is a SMALL fan. Will fit on nightstand.
For quiet low noise comfort. Puts out enough air for circulation in a small space. It's like a personal fan, and will fit easily on a tabletop or nightstand. They shipped in manufacturers box.

Bit of Whirring & Whining
The air that the fan generates is very nice. However, at the highest speed, there is a bit of whirring and whining that is slightly annoying. I think it's something one gets used to but I wouldn't call it "quiet" as advertised. I am satisfied other than that and am surprised by its velocity.

Powerful little unit - a bid loud but nothing crazy
It is an all-metal, industrial-looking piece. Feels very sturdy and is very powerful for its size. Has enough oomph to be a floor fan to move air in a small to mid-size room but is compact enough to sit on a side table. the aluminum fan blades do make a more noise than plastic - almost a tinny sort of hum. Maybe not an ideal choice for a nightstand, but great otherwise.

Well-made fan - but watch for annoying Vibration!
The fan arrived in a heavily-damaged - obviously re-packed - box. Fortunately, only a small part of the fan was bent. Turning it on, I quickly realized that, although the sound level was "moderate," the vibration on medium and especially high, was pretty miserable. Indeed, the fan kept "walking" across my wood floor on high speed. (I'm sticking with LOW) The fan seems well-made, but not well-balanced. UPDATE: Though I hate to take things apart - I did so with this fan. And I quickly determined the main cause of the fan's vibration: one of the three (rather easily-bent) fan blades was "out of plane," meaning that it was bent either above or below the horizontal "line" that all blades are supposed to follow. I unplugged the fan and painstakingly pried off the front wire cage. (there are little clips) then I manually turned the fan, noting which blades followed a "line" that in my case was one of the outside wire cage wires. I found one blade was nearly a half inch under the plane - and then began a time-taking "bend-run-bend-run-bend-run" bit of frustration until I had the erring blade back in "plane." Turned on the fan, and now it works much better. Oh, there is still some vibration, but it is not enough for me to complain loudly. If you buy this fan - and it vibrates as badly as mine did - check the fan blades, because while they are metal, they are almost fragile, and easily bent by anybody.
