Quoted length INCLUDES the clasp rings...
As has been noted by others, the quoted length INCLUDES both clasp rings at the end, of which both are one (1) inch in diameter. In the case of the 14" collar, the chain part is 12". For the 16 inch collar, the chain is 14 inches long. I consider this misleading as one measures the circumference of the dog's head (usually the widest part) and adds 2 inches for play for a proper fit around the neck. The quality is good, though...smooth links allow the collar to quickly loosen around the neck. And the rings and links are not too heavy given the overall length.

Item description for 16" collar says full length is 19.25" leading one to assume that would be the entire length including the rings and that the chain "collar" portion would be a little over 16". However, the entire length is a little under 16" and the chain portion is about 14"

The chain length is 14”.
The description is misleading. The item dimensions state the length is 19”. The chain length is actually 14”. The rings are 1 inch each, so the end to end length is 16. To further confuse things the manufacturer comment is “measure dogs neck and add 2 inch” for my dog that came to 16”. To have a comfortable fit it would make sense that the chain is larger than the neck and it would have to be even larger to get over the dogs head well clearly that’s not the situation. I hope someone finds this information helpful, and also that the manufacturer fixes this listing. It is only one small order, but such an unfortunate waste of time, effort, and resources. Add to that I’ll need to take it to a drop off point and then find a slip chain that is the right size.

Bad Material!
I don't know what this chain is made from but it stains my dogs white coat grey. It takes a while to show up but it can't be good for the dog.

Petit mais solide
Le collier est très petit mais semble solide. Notre petit bonhomme commence a si habituer car à l’occasion, à force de tirer sur la laisse, il manque de souffle dû au collier qui c’est serré au tour de son coup.

Very happy with this collar
Shopped for this item at multiple different stores, couldn't find exactly what I wanted, I ordered this at a fraction of the cost. Very happy with this collar, very durable. Would highly recommend and would buy again.

Good quality
I've been using this as a training and show collar for a few months. So far it's holding up well. You do have to bend the chain right next to the loop in order to get it through but if you do then there's no problem. And I haven't had any issues with the chain pulling hair at all.
