I can't say how long this thing will last but it did help prevent a new flea infestation and so far no negative reactions on my long hair calico cat I use the spray as well and it works wonders

May cause chemical burn on some cats

It’s a easy to use collar, didn’t have a strong smell. I bought 3 for my 3 cats. 1 cat lost all her hair around her next within 24 hours of putting it on her...you could tell it had started to burn her neck an started to stick to her skin...(had to remove it). An go with a different brand for her..However it didn’t affect the other 2 cats. I didn’t have a major flea problem to begin with, I had only seen a couple fleas prior to purchasing the collars. All my cats are indoor cats. I’m assuming the fleas came in on the dog. I can’t say the collars alone got rid of the fleas...but after washing all the animals and putting collars on them. They did seem to be helpful and affective in keeping the fleas from coming back. If you do buy these, just keep checking your cats neck. All animals are different, just like people... these collars may not harm one animal but may harm another. Use with Caution.

How much is too much

UPDATE It does not work immediately, but over time (7- 10 days, at least) has helped to control fleas. In conjunction with staying vigilant - washing bedding, vacuuming, use household spray on sleeping areas, etc. I would probably buy this again. And am thinking of using on my two dogs instead of the shoulder drops. I put this on my 8 month old indoor only cat. I read comments that it worked instantly, no more fleas and I thought, GREAT, that's what we need. Put it on.... Next day, I saw fleas on my cat's face!!! The fur on his face is white and it's very easy to see the fleas. I've given him baths, used peppermint spray on him, I've washed bedding, rugs,etc, vacuumed, sprayed, sprinkled diamtomaceous earth, even the shoulder drops --- to the point I worry I'm poisoning my little cat while fleas are flourishing!

Since the problem was pretty much resolved in less than 2 weeks (except for ...

I used this on a little semi-feral I've been working with (she used to be all feral, but she's coming around :-) ) who I don't want to have to keep grabbing to apply Revolution to. It seemed to really take care of the fleas quickly. But I did notice some localized fur loss after about 2 weeks. I had read about the severe skin irritation, so I immediately took it off. No problems, so I might put it back on for a few weeks at a time and remove it before it irritates her skin. I had bought two of them, but I'm opting to use the other one to cut up and use in my vacuum cleaners (I was fighting a severe flea infestation, and am now in the phase of preventing the future generations from surviving any hatching). I wouldn't have used it by itself to handle the problem, especially not with the potential for skin irritation, but it was one ingredient in the overall approach to handling the flea problem. Since the problem was pretty much resolved in less than 2 weeks (except for the hatchling follow up, of course), I'd say it definitely helped.

Cat won't wear it

My cat got it off in three seconds and refused to wear it. For me it was a total waste of money.

Best cat flea collars on the market!

This is the best flea collar on the market and works better than the prescription flea solutions. Several years back there was a bad flea outbreak in my area and nothing worked. I use all of Adams products to control them. The flea collars, bombs, and outdoor sprays controlled the issue. Now, I will never use anything else and highly recommend them.
