Perfect for storage and sitting area

Needed something for under the window cause dogs love to watch. Don't worry about the gap in the photo it's cause we pushed the cushion to the sill. It fits perfectly edge to edge. Comes with nice Velcro to keep cushion in place. 10/10 would get again.

Great addition to my entrance

I live in a townhome that doesn't have a mudroom so coming in from the snow can make the house messy unless you remove your shoes at the entrance. This bench is so cute and comfy. Has room for some of your shoes if you decide to store them there or you can purchase some of the storage cubes. I did both and I love it. Helps keep my home cleaner longer since I can come in, sit remove my shoes and continue into the house. Also makes it easy to put shoes on on your way out. It was easy to assemble. I've had it for 3 years and haven't had any issues with needing to tighten screws or anything,

Just what I needed

This piece of furniture was just what I needed. I thought I wouldn’t like they grey fusion but turns out it’s nice… I put it together my self took 20 minutes. My only complaint is that the shelves/each piece should be labeled bc the directions are labeled. That set me back a few minutes Also at the end you need to hammer in the nails the holes needed to be more pronounced. Overall was very easy to out together if you read and listen to directions Can’t wait to use it has a book sleeve and reading area for my daughter

Decent product

Purchased for garage as a shoe bench and it serves that purpose well. It was easy to put together, and feels sturdy. The cushion is well adhered to the bench with strong Velcro. The only complaint is the back is not white. As I am not placing this item against a wall, I had to paint the back - an extra step and does not look as good. Using all white boards for this bench to start with would have been preferred.

This ClosetMaid bench is sturdy, and looks exactly like the photo. It is a good buy for the price. Great for an entryway, with storage for scarves, hats, gloves. I bought it because we are tired of tracking dirt in the house, and want to take off our shoes the minute we get home. My husband and I are average height and weigh around 180. Went I sit on it, the bench feels solid, no give, no movement, no creaking. The beige cushion is firm, and you can't feel the bench though it. It can be fastened to the bench top with the Velcro strips provided, but I elected not to. I didn't want the adhesive to strip the painted top, but it does slide a little. Instead, I will put a piece of rug cushion under it, the kind that keeps rugs from slipping. The instructions are exceptionally clear! As long as you don't jump ahead, and follow them step by step, they make perfect sense. Just make sure you have good light and can see whether they refer to dowels or screws in different holes. I love the cam nuts. One person could put this together, but it is easier with two. My friend and I did it in a relaxed forty minutes. You will need both a medium-large flathead and a phillips head screwdriver. Unfortunately, when I set up this bench, I saw that the corners on two pieces were cracked and frayed, corners that matched up with really bad damage the box had taken. The bench is still usable because damage on the side piece faces the wall, and I hid the damage on the top piece with the cushion. I am not very happy, but can't imagine how I would send it back. The box with parts inside was VERY heavy, and the box could no longer be used to re-ship because it had been shredded. Fortunately, the contents had not gotten wet. You do NOT want to put this bench outside, in a bathroom, in a basement or any other damp area because, like all things made of particle board, it will warp and eventually fall apart. But it's perfect for my enclosed front porch, which is dry all year. I also purchased beige cloth folding bins by Sodynee, which fit perfectly into the bench — they completely fill the storage spaces and look great with the beige cushion. (They also have nice sewn-on label holders.)

Nice little storage bench for my mud room!

I bought this storage bench to fit in my mud room but didn't want to spend a lot of money right now. I also bought 1 fabric drawer to go in the middle as shown in one of the pictures. Pros: fairly inexpensive, easy to put together, and looks nice. Cons: the seat cushion is awful (firm as a rock) and it came a little messed up already. Oh, and the price has already gone down $20 since I purchased it a week ago. I put this together by myself using only the tools required - a screw driver and hammer. In hindsight, I should have gotten my husband's power screw driver but I didn't have any issues screwing manually. It took me about an hour and a half to put together. I was slightly disappointed that one of the edges already had the siding "peeling" (see pictures) but I decided to put it together anyways since it was in the back and would never be seen. The instructions were easy to follow and it clearly indicates which are the finished sides vs. unfinished sides for ease of putting together. The color of the bench is nice, I like it. However, the cushion itself really is not comfortable at all. If you are getting this as a bench that will be sat on frequently or for more than a few seconds here and there, definitely look elsewhere OR invest in another cushion. Given we will just cop a squat here to put on our shoes, I can overlook the uncomfortable part. I did read the measurement before buying but you never know exactly how something is going to look once you put it in the designated spot. I think it looks OK but probably will look to upgrade maybe in a few years. My mud room is 44 x 28 so you can see in the pics there is plenty room to spare. Overall I am pleased with this storage bench. Not sure I will keep it forever but it does the trick for now and matches the white hooks and mail holder I have.

Know what you're buying... Great price, fair quality

Good, functional fairly sturdy for children getting ready. The quality is not up to Ikea's highest standards (series like Hemnes or Kallax), but it does meet the standards of Ikea's cheapest wares, the products that tend to be here today but gone tomorrow - just for comparison. This is the first ClosetMaid thing I have ever purchased, and I think it's pretty good but not amazing. Pros: -The instructions were clear and the dowels and metal fasteners (screws, joints, etc) were of reasonable quality. -It was not difficult to assemble -The description was accurate, ensuring that it was indeed the perfect fit that I needed it to be. -The removable cushion has a zippered cover, meaning I can wash this one or even replace it. -The cushion comes with adhesive velcro to ensure the seat cushion doesn't slip around. I didn't expect that and like the feature quite a bit. -The cubeicals boxes fit into it, so I can get boxes that coordinate and hide cluttery bits. Cons -The MDF really is the cheapest MDF possible. It arrived slightly shipped at the back corner, attesting to the cheapness of the material, given that packaging seemed adequate. -I don't think this piece would stand up to a lot of rough housing. Not for high-traffic or heavy use. Probably perfect for little people who weigh 50 pounds or less. -I don't think this piece is made to ever take apart again, or to survive moving. -I feel like I will have to replace or dispose of this piece in a few, maybe 3-4, years. The price, the appearance, the general function, the inclusion of the cushion - these are reasons to buy this piece. But there are good reasons to opt for a pricier one that fits your needs (if you can swing it).

great shoe bench!

I really wanted a shoe bench for the hallway and had found others but they were all quite pricey. This is a great product at a brilliant price, it was easy to assemble and looks really smart and is of good quality, would recommend.

Great little bench!

The directions were easy to follow. It took us about 20 minutes to put together. Just needed a Phillips screwdriver and a small hammer. It seems fairly sturdy. Take care in attaching the peel and stick velcro as it can't be moved once down. Be sure of positioning. We bought the little cloth inserts . They arrived the day after and are nice to hide things in. Very happy with the way it looks. Matches our tiles perfectly and enhances the decor in our bathroom.

Stunning

This is a brilliant product and exceelent value for money. Easy to assemble (unless you're my husband.....) and lovely sturdy quality, really finished off my boot room a treat. Wouldr recommend. Should also say the customer service at the seller was OUTSTANDING
