surprising little climber!

This little RC goes up and over everything we've tried. It's slow enough for beginners, but has enough grunt to get over obstacles for the more experienced drivers. The controller is a bit large for small hands (my 5 year old has a hard time holding the grip). Otherwise easy to control and drive. Seems to be pretty durable, we've dropped and rolled it several times with no issues, but time will tell in the long run. I've had several toy RC cars and trucks, I'd buy this one again, it's a good value.

great rc car / great price / doesn't break the bank / lotsa fun!

Surprisingly decent for the price. I paid hundreds of dollars for a proper RC card when I was a kid. This is a good start and you won't be worried if the kiddos crash it into objects (which they will). A couple cons is that as far as I can tell (and remember), there is no throttle ramp up, meaning, if you press the trigger, it's full throttle. The same goes for the steering in that when you steer, it is full turning radius and there are no gradients in between. The rubber wheels sometimes gets loose but a quick repair aligns it again. There are no adjustments for wheel alignment so if your car rides crooked from the factory, then, deal with it... Ours would veer slightly to the left. I also noticed that when using 4 x AA alkalines, the speed was a bit tooo fast (not necessarily a bad thing). The next day after a full day of use, the speed was slower and more manageable. So, I would probably recommend using NiMH batteries since they provide a lower voltage from the get go.

Birthday present

Item arrived on time and was what was described in description. Haven’t played with it myself as it was a bday present. I heard from the kid I gave it too. It’s durable and does good over obstacles. However it sucks the battery really fast. Would be better if it had recharge port so could be played with more. As I was told brand new Duracell battery last about a hour and a half. Both remote and rc take batteries. You need to buy at least 8 batteries. As 4 in car and 3 in remote.

Amazing bargain, good for 4-6 year olds. But bad wiring!

Update: the wiring sucks. The rest of the car is solid, but the main wires that run from the battery bay to the front and rear engines and the steering gear are exposed, and two out of the have been severed. First rear drive was lost, I fixed the wires. The. THE NEXT DAY the steering wire was severed. The wires are too thin and can't handle the suspension movement. They cheaper out on a critical part to save 10 cents when they did right with the rest of the thing. Dumb. Unbelievable bargain. Small, but goes over anything that it can physically clear, like books, medium sized rocks, some pets... Good for little kids because it is fairly slow, and the large wheels stick out further than the body or bumper, cushioning any impact. Drive it into any wall and it will flip itself; yet no damage is done because of the modest speed, and the kids enjoy this. Use rechargeable nimh batteries for the car and alkaline for the controller; the four AA that go in the car will be spent within a day. We bought two of them for 2 kids and the signals do not interfere. The suspension is legit, nothing else at this price point compares.

Works great if you are careful

This car is really nice for the price. Just be careful where you drive it. We tried it outdoors and hit the bottom to a rock and a plastic part holding the wheel broke. I fixed with some metal wire and it is still working great.

Surprising performance

So far so good with this little rc car. Definitely a toy and not a hobby level but really performs well for the price. Not surprising but it goes through 4 fresh AA batteries in 15-20 minutes of real usage. If you get this then buy a huge pack of batteries. This thing surprised me for the price. Good starter for a kid or an adult (like me). Recommended

Didn't last with my 5 and 7 year old boys.

*Edited 1/8/18* Of course the day after posting my review about how this has held up well, it totally broke. Lowering my rating down to 3 stars, probably only deserves 2... *original review* So far this is actually holding up, to my surprise. My son got this for his 5th birthday 3 months ago, and although he doesnt use it very often, when he does he is pretty rough with it and it hasn't broke yet. The one thing that sucks is that it goes through batteries really fast. I wish it was rechargeable.

Just right.

A little under powered at times but for the price it was well worth it. So much in fact that I ordered another one ASAP. I bought it for my 3 year old daughter and its just her speed. Also the fact that it can drive over toys that are in its way makes it more user friendly at her age.

Great fun, we love it.

This is an excellent little car. I'm so relieved it works well otherwise Santa would have been quite the unpopular guy in my house. I looked at reviews and videos on YouTube before buying this but still had a couple of concerns but my 5 year old (and me and my mate) are well impressed. My first concern was battery life. Some people say it only lasts 15-20 minutes. Well, luckily I got the one that takes normal AA batteries and not the special rechargable ones and with some decent 2000mah rechargables it's lasted well over an hour of constant use. So, make sure you get that one and use decent batteries because cheapo ones don't work well in it. The other concern was that there's no real speed control because the controller isn't progressive, it's either moving or it isn't. Well, for us at least, that's been fine, it works well and my boy loves it. It's goes over grass, rough ground, climbs over stuff and even drives down steps (3 so far with successful landing). For £20 I'm impressed enough to recommend it and am looking forward to lots more fun with it.

Best RC especially for the price

Although cheaper than the other two RC cars I bought for my girls (2 and 6), it's the best. Fast, easy to use, goes backwards and forwards (took a while to realise you could use the trigger in two directions lol). Batteries last for AGES in this. I use 2900 mAh x 4 AA rechargeables and they last for days (about 30 mins usage each before they get bored). For comparison I also bought the Metakoo (annoying charging) flipping stunt car and Rock Master (ok battery not as long lasting).

Great item, our 8 year old grandson loved it. Needs 4 batteries for the car and 3 for the handset. I bought some 2150 mah rechargeable ones and they last for ages
