Knee comfort great. Straps bite.
Like kneeling on big white fluffy clouds. BUT....The straps bite!!!!!! The leather straps chaf and bear into the backs of my knees big time even with Dickies pants on. Shouldn't be that way but that's what you get with inflexible leather straps that they choose to use in this product. The straps need to flex so that when you flex your knee they flex with the needed length to keep the pads on while keeping you are kept comfortable. I'll deal with it for now. As an engineer I'll probably come up with a solution to make them work like they should. I'm disappointed. These could have been the best thing since sliced bread but they fell short. Way short.

Handi-capable!!
As a double BK - (Below Both Knees) amputee Vet, I wrestled with prosthesis for years. The reason, besides being very painful to wear, prosthesis restrict my mobility and this is crucial to anyone who wants to remain free from any restrictive materials. So instead of complaining, I designed my own "walk about" method. I use these fantastic Custom Leathercraft 318 Pro's knee pads every day and into the night between 15 and 18 hours x 365 days. You could say I am an actual expert on using this product, simply because it allows me to walk everywhere I go, "on my knees". Yes, on my knees, and now since my original walking design in 1973, I can go virtually anywhere, all without the use of a wheelchair or any prosthesis. You see, I found that by investing in the purchase of this one product, and over all these years, they have allowed me to be "Handi-capable" not Handicap! I found that by using this one product, it has allowed me to not only literally walk on my knees, but also climb ladders, lay floors, carpet and yes lay cement, from which many folks use this product for. It has great thick padding at its base and throughout, but also holds up extremely well under extreme adverse conditions. The straps are wide and pliable, and definitely long enough , but what is even more effective are the rollers on the metal buckles of each strap, which allow the straps to move in and out without binding up or from metal material fatigue, therefore becoming effortless. I highly recommend these knee pads, not only for those in construction, but anyone who also may be an amputee. For those of us who want this flexibility and to be more mobile, just remember "we pick up more money that falls to the ground than anyone else!! .

Just what I was looking for
I needed something for my knobby knees to kneel on any hard surfaces, including my kitchen floor, but it couldn't be something that scraped the floor while I did so. I entertained a bunch of options from those pads for gardening (too much hassle) to knee pads for skating (would scrape the floor) and then found these. They're perfect. I found them a bit heavy at first (which matters not at all when kneeling) and the leather stiff, but followed other reviewer's advice and wore pants underneath which solved that problem. Leather also softens over time with use, so that will eventually resolve itself. I can now get down on my bony knees whenever I need to! Without pain! I call that a win.

Not Too Good
Not enough cushion. Difficult to wear. Straps bite into legs.

Protection: fine, comfort: ok
I purchased the knee pads to do some DIY repairs on my car. It feels really heavy, it's thick rubber and probably will last long. The leather straps are a bit difficult to fix, because the buckle is at the back side of the knees, I rather prefer to use Velcro instead of traditional buckle. It feels ok when I work on my knees, however, it feels a bit uncomfortable when I stand or walk. The thick upper rim helps to prevent the pads to slide down and also keeps it in position when working on knees, however, it makes an uncomfortable pressure in standing position. I also think that two pieces of rubber and some narrow leather straps are a bit overpriced for more than 20 bucks. Talking about protection and comfort, the first is 5, the latter is 3, that's why I give 4 stars.

Essential for solar installers
Was introduced to this style of kneepad while working on a roofing crew but only made the leap and got myself a pair when I started working as a solar installer. Absolutely essential for anyone that spends allot of time on a roof without jacks or planks.

Not for everyday Roofing
This will fall apart within hours to a couple days. Previously purchased and were ok. Last two purchases were junk quality. Back to prime grip for me. Disappointed. I’d give a zero star if able to.

One size Doesn’t FIT All
Straps are to short and too short by far. I contacted the manufacturer to see if they sell strap extensions, no reply. Finally I went to a leather maker and custom made leather extension straps. I’m big and heavy. Once longer straps are achieved nice fit

Can handle abuse
They work great and seem durable. After about a month of heavy use, the rubber around the knee caps hasnt compacted which is a good indicator. Straps, buckles, and rubber are holding up. Ive been using them to kneel on rebar and concrete so about the roughest thing you could use a kneepad for.

Great knee pads
These knee pads are great. I use them flat roofing installing metal flashings. Rubber is soft so you get more comfort than other rubber pads while also protecting your knees from and rough surface or gravel. Only issue I have is they don't come with foam ditch savers like the prime grip pads but I just use the ones I have from an old pair
