This compression belt really helped me with my sciatica.
Last May 22 my sciatic nerve lost its mind, oh my how painful. My doctor had me go to PT which was a life saver (in addition to the meds). The PT rep suggested I get this belt and showed me how/where to place it for the max benefit. Recently my husband's nerve was inflamed and I suggested he get the belt. It is a big help to him as well. I highly recommend them.

Keeps me active - unobtrusive and my go-to solution for maintenance of chronic SI-joint instability
Perhaps this is not the most sophisticated SI-Joint belt on the market, but with its simplicity lies its genius. It is not over-designed and constructed, working well for my lifestyle. I own a fine Serola product and found it too much for warm and hot weather activities. I wear this belt for yard work, walks, longer hikes, and treadmill/track walking & gym workouts. The pad works for me. Is it a cure-all? No, but it's easy to wear for me, and the consistent wearing has helped with keeping me active, which has led to improved strength and fitness - it is a positive feedback mechanism. Yes, the SI joint will flare up if I'm not paying attention and then I will just wear the belt and do the ice/heat routine until things calm down. For activities I will usually wear this over my clothes, camouflaged by whatever top I wear. It will fit under my clothes for times when I need extended wearing and need to up the wardrobe game. For $25-$30 USD, it is a reasonable cost when it needs replacing.

Pain Relief
In Oct. 0f 2011 my hip and lower back began to hurt severely. I am a competitive distance runner and very active. I have tried Chiropractors, Inverson, Regular Doctor, Steroids, Orthos, PT, Trigger Point Masssage Therapy and stretching. None of this gave me any relief. The sciatic pain is terrible. I do not want to quit searching for answers though as I enjoy being active and love running. I bought this belt with very little hope. I read the reviews and bought a large based on my 36" waist. The large is probably too big but I figured out a way to make it fit. I purchased this one because of reviews and the size. I intended to wear it under my work clothes as I own an advertising agency and do not want to walk around with a black belt around my pants. The product is relatively comfortable. It is a little itchy as it hugs the skin. I suspect I will be a little raw because of this. I have zero pain though. This is day one, so I do not want to get ahead of myself. I ran this morning without the belt and after showering put it on. I have been pair free all day. This seems like it is too good to be true. I will repost after another week or two because I am sure that others like me are looking for anything to help us gain an edge on this pain. For the record, my problems with my back/hip are: 1) Herniated Disc at L5-S1 2) Torn Labrum in my hip. I have no idea which of these issues is causing the pain and I have no intention of surgery for either issue unless it becomes unbearable. I suspect the Labrum is the source of my pain but it could be a combo. (I have had MRI's to confirm both). My best advise is to try this or any other thing that may help. Do not give up or give in regardless of what the doctors say. They are not always right especially when it comes to the spine or hip.

Works well for simple SI area support
This is good for some light support for SI pain. This is the first belt like this I've ever gotten. I may look into more substantial braces if I need something. This is okay for wearing under clothes if you are just doing light movement, nothing extreme. I tried wearing it moving a lot cleaning and it started coming lose. The velcro lost it's grip. I gained weight in belly area. I am 160 lbs, 5'5". So I got a large as I read other customers had to return for a larger one. This is some help until I get in shape and strengthen my core. It's like a bandaid until I resolve what likely caused pain. Sitting too much, being weak in abdominal area. Sitting in a position that likely made the right SI joint get out of alignment. I haven't used it that much. I healed my pain but if it gets tender I put this on. If you need very solid support that allows a range of movement you need something stronger than this. But for the price it's okay. It's simple, lightweight, can wear over thin pants with shirt covering. Lots of movement it loses grip, or you hear the velcro coming lose or it slips up. I am not knowledgeable about belts and braces so I'm just learning. May need advice from a doctor or physical therapist.

Belt is not great, but compression pad makes a difference on this and other belts.
You will need to size up for this belt. The belt itself is okay. The ring can slip and become horizontal if it doesn't sit perfect on your hips (or you have the least little bit of fat on your hips), which will cause the belt to gather at either end, thus becoming looser and often uncomfortable. I stitched at the top and bottom of the ring to keep it secure, and it has served me well. What is worth the money in this belt is the compression pad. I bought another belt of better quality that didn't come with a pad and used this one with it. There aren't that many companies that I can find (at least on Amazon) that sell just a pad (and often they're expensive, charge for shipping, etc.). This one has velcro on the back, so it can be stuck to a belt or at least provide friction to hold it in place, unlike some compression pads that have loops specifically for threading certain belts through (and if yours doesn't fit, then you might be out of luck, unless you can get the pad to stay in some other way). If you catch this marked down or used somewhere, grab it for the pad. I find the pad makes all the difference.

Of No Use
It is not at all useful, as it does not provide sufficient support to the joint. Also the material is not good.

It wasn't for me
I found that the plastic support disc at the back agravated my injury more. Found that it was attached via velcro and it was a bit better after taking it off. However it's narrower than my previous belts and it didn't feel as good a support so have already replaced this with another one. I've gone back to 66Fit which is wider and feels more secure (however they don't last long as the vecro goes). Would love if someone could recommend me one that lasts longer than a few weeks!
