Don't look further; buy this one
Needed to replace my siding nailer when my cheapy Freeman nailer blew it's seals. Almost bought Metabo brand. But, after seeing/touching one at big box store, it felt flimsy. I've had good longeviety with Bostitch trim and roofing nailers so I bought this one. Some reviews had me a tad worried. After shooting several coils already without any jams or problems, I'm glad I stuck with Bostitch. Depth control is always finicky with fiber cement siding. Mostly that comes from density of the underlaying material or framing. But, easy to control with in-line air pressure regulation and/or the nailer's depth dial.

Great nailer
Nailer is easy to use and not especially heavy. We are using it to install Diamond Kote Smartsiding and we have had no issues so far. It occasionally misfires but it’s not a huge issue.

Works as needed.
I've had this nailer for a few weeks and it performs consistent day in/out. Of all my pneumatics this is the only gun I haven't had any jams or misfires. The only thing that happens now and then is the driver will stay extended after the last nail is shot and you have to manually push it back into the head with a pencil or something similar then load your nails. Not a problem tho and continues to work fine.

Great for beekeepers building hive bodies
I recently bought this nailer to assemble 104 standard hive bodies. These are made from pine and have finger joints at the edges using a total of 40 nails per box. 40! The nailer required a compressed air fitting that was not supplied but are common at just about every hardware store. Out of the box it failed. Oh man was this thing bad. I wanted to smash it. Every other nail misfired. Pop, nail goes in. Pop, I get a dent and the nail coil was not advanced into the firing chamber. Pop Pop Pop no nails. Reseat the coil. Pop, one nail, then pop pop pop no nails. Reseat the coil in the right place. Over and over. I was in a bind. I had more than a hundred hives to build and this thing didn't work and I was using Bostitch brand galvanized ring shank nails (2.25" long, similar to the 7P nails used in beekeeping). I then grabbed my trusty can of Tri-Flow and gave the moving parts a good squirt and wiped off the excess. Then reseated the nails. Pop. Nail went in as expected. Pop. Nail #2 goes in, then #3 and then #4. Okay, this is good. A while later it misfired again. PTSD kicking in and I'm ready to smash this thing. Then I realize I ran through the whole coil of nails. I'm on box number two of nails now. ZERO misfires after that first few of that first 3600 nail box. The only time I see a dent and no nail is when I'm at the end of the nail coil. It works! I'm sold! After every roll I just give it a little spray of Tri-Flow and then a couple drops of pneumatic tool oil into the air fitting. I love this thing now. Pros: duh. It's a nail gun and they're awesome when they work. Cons: aside from the slow start, the recoil on the gun after several hundred nails tends to wear the skin at the 2nd knuckle of my right thumb -right next to the web of skin going to my first finger. Ouchie. A bandaid, mole skin, or even just a light mechanics glove will fix this. I've read all the reviews and figured I would get a good one that didn't have problems. I think the problems people were seeing can be solved with proper lubrication. Shooting the nailer right after spraying down the inside of the hatch where the nails run will result in spraying oil or the carrier fluid all over your woodwork so be careful. I spray and then walk away for a while to let it evaporate leaving only the Teflon behind (again, I'm using Tri-Flow). Liquid lubricants will need to have the excess wiped off or you'll get a lot of sprayed oil on your wood. The bees probably won't care but the paint won't stick well. I recommend this gun to any beekeeper that needs to assemble more than a handful of hives.

Reliable, siding, nailer
I have enjoyed the light weight and compact size of the siding nailer. I have used for about a week with no nail jam ups.

Holy moly, this is the real deal
I had a cheaper brand of gun and was frustrated putting up Hardie with it. I broke down and spend the money on this Bostitch and life is different in siding world now. I don't know if I've ever had a misfire on this gun. I almost can't believe it.

Not much room for improvement on this one
I applied red cedar shake siding to my entire house this summer with this nailer. It just worked. Never jammed even once. Instructions were a little weak and could have been improved with more detailed images and textual guidance.

Not for JD Panels
A never had a jam with this gun 3600 nails through it and it performed OK. Doesn't really like James Hardie Panels. I played with the air pressure and nail depth. The nail was inconsistent. I decided to use my framing nailer with the air turned down and it worked perfectly. I'm keeping this gun for replacing the fence in a few years. I would not buy again knowing what I know. I would have gone metabo

Not exactly as described.
It did NOT come with a case as indicated in the product description. Not very happy! Edit: Although inconvenient to not have received the case with the order. I have contacted Amazon and have come up to a satisfactory resolution to the issue. Increasing my star rating to 4 stars. Excellent service by amazon. Also the star rating is mostly related to the experience, not necessarily the tool, which i have not had a chance to use yet.

Meh. There is better out there.
I'm a carpenter, I own half a dozen air nailers, and this is the one I like the least of the bunch. First off, it jams a lot. I'm using 2-1/2" Bostitch siding nails designed for this nailer, and the hole on the nailer that the nails have to go though isn't big enough to let all of the nail heads pass through. The odd one gets its head stuck. And getting it unstuck is not only a pain in the ass but it feels like it's doing damage to the nailer, which brings me to my second issue. Of all my nailers, this one feels the most flimsy. I buy good quality tools and I expect them to last. This one doesn't feel like it's going to last. My final issue is that it doesn't really bury the nail, even on it's deepest setting, and it's inconsistent. I have to keep a hammer close at hand to finish burying the odd nail. Likely related to the first issue.

Decent Gun.
I have both this one and a hitatchi. The hitatchi is a much nicer gun, but this gun is perfectly functional. IT is light and it seams to work in the cold just fine. I bought it to have a second gun while doing HARDIE board. It works. IF I was going to be doing HARDIE all the time I would stick with hitatchi, but as a decent second gun or even an occasional primary it is just fine. No complaints. Well built.

Great gun, Blocked but now works great
I received my Bostitch nailer last week,Set up the gun for the first time today as I was waiting for my nails to arrive. Changed the trigger to the one that fires only once when the gun is activated. They arrived on Wednesday.,put in the nails,, fired the first nail, needed a slight adjustment, fired the second nail needed another small adjustment, fired the third nail just right, then took the gun to attach my wood, fired the gun, no nail, big spark, gun now completely jamed up, cannot open anything, the adjustment screw is wedged up into the black housing,so it completely disappeared. Gun has been taken the local Bostitch Service centre. They could not figure why it jammed, but I have since put it through roughly 600 nails, and now works well. In future you might put in some information on how to clear jams in the gun, quite easy, just put a drill bit the same size back down the barrow of the gun, using a hammer to tap it into the housing, it will clear the jam, and allow you to take out the jam through the nail door. I find that the nails have to be straight going into gun, if you see the slightest bend at the beginning of inserting nails into the gun, straighten out the nails completely,or it will most likely jam.

A real pleasure to use it
I did the siding at my cottage; after 4000 nails or so, everything was perfect without a single glitch. I own other nailers (BOSTITCH included), but this one is beyond any expectations. Highly recommended.
