"BEST CHARCOAL GRILL EVER"
This grill is absolutely great. I read the reviews on Amazon & one of the reviews said it was the best grill he ever bought. That includes Weber. So I thought why not give it a try. I'm very glad I did. Easy to assemble, I love the hinged top, makes it easy multi-task. I HIGHLY recommend this grill. You won't regret it!

Charbroil has successfully reinvented the charcoal grill...
I'm 70 years old and I've been grilling my whole adult life, so I actually know what I'm doing. For all that time I thought fighting greasy flareups was part and parcel to charcoal grilling. I went to gas for a while and spent a lot of money only to find out I missed the flavor imparted by charcoal. So, I read the reviews and found that there was really only one legitimate complaint about the Kettleman. The front single leg is poorly engineered and wobbles right from the gitgo. I've not addressed that issue, yet, but will be getting to it soon enough by adding some additional bracing to make that connection to the kettle more rigid. I know that doesn't sound very encouraging, but except for that one minor flaw this grill is PERFECT. I nicked one star in my rating for that wobbly leg and deservedly so. My advice to you is don't let the leg stop you from buying this grill. It's far superior to anything Weber sells and I've owned a bunch of them in my lifetime. And remember that Weber has been the standard for decades and that every other kettle is basically a Weber clone. Kamado kettle smokers are different and operate differently. I just sold my kamado smoker and bought this Kettleman. I don't intend to smoke with it, though. I've bought a Masterbuilt electric smoker for my low and slow smoking. And therein lies the rub here. You simply can not ask any one charcoal appliance to do everything well. I know Charbroil says the Kettleman is a great smoker and it might be, but a dedicated electric smoker will give you infinitely better temperature control and that's the name of the game in low and slow. Smoking is all about precise temp control. Another cool thing about the Kettleman is that you no longer have to fight flareups and the charred mess they create. You can even grill high fat content 85% hamburger patties without fear of flareups while you're in the fridge getting another beer. The vent system is part of Charbroil's innovation and it's a bit counter intuitive. The good news is it actually works much better than a tradition Weber. I had my own doubts about the "infrared" system, but as it turns out it's the real deal. I had my doubts given that the coals are so close to the cooking surface, but that's the ingenious part. This thing grills beautifully and it performs infinitely better than any of my Weber's. Grill marks, no problem and easy as pie. Even cooking across the entire width of the grilling surface is no problem. The heat is way more evenly distributed than a Weber. My only advice to you is that you gauge the doneness of your meat with an instant read thermometer and not by touch or sight or time. This grill is so efficient that it cooks quicker than Webers and so I overcooked some expensive steaks before I got the hang of it, but no more. Oh, one last thing. Weber's are a pain to clean out. If you've ever owned a Weber then you know that even their newest design for ash removal is still inferior. It's still very messy, especially in the wind. This Kettleman has a cleanout pan that is simplicity itself. It's wide enough to allow the kettle ashes to automatically fall to the bottom and then you simply slide out the ash pan and pour out the waste. It's perfect.

This was a gift for my husband as she the BBQ king for our gatherings. He is very picky when it comes to these. He has been enjoying this one. It sits out side during the brutal winter. It has held up and very well

Awesome, awesome grill!!
I saw my UPS man struggling to get this big box out of his truck so I went out to give him a hand. Needless to say this thing was pretty darn heavy! When I opened the box I was seriously impressed with the packing, plenty of formed styrofoam protected everything! So far A+!! I read about some people having problems with the nuts and bolts and the whole Made in China syndrome. I can say that I was definitely impressed with the hardware. The nuts and bolts were stainless steel and I could pretty much torque it down a lot more than I thought I could! When I put it together I did use blue Loctite just to keep things from shaking loose over time. The instructions are simple illustrations that a 10 year old could figure out. One thing that I LOVED was the fact that the nuts, bolts, and washers were packed on a sheet of cardboard and covered in plastic. On the back was the letter of each piece of hardware identifying where it went. I should have taken a picture to show you but I was excited and forgot. I know we have ALL bought Chinese stuff where all of the hardware was tossed in a bag together and it took you an hour to separate all of the parts. Not so here!!! I was excited to get cooking on this today so I decided to do something "easy"... I did the Fire Roasted Grilla Meatloaf from Nibble Me This dot Com. LOL, I should have started with something different but I love meatloaf and never had one on a grill! I started about a half basket of charcoal using the Weber charcoal chimney, I also used the paraffin starters instead of paper. Those little things are AWESOME!! I spread the coals around the outside edge and put a piece of aluminum foil in the middle. I made the meatloaf and put it on a piece of Reynolds stick free foil, and put that on a cookie sheet. When the coals were up to temp I simply slid the foil with the meatloaf off of the cookie sheet onto the grill. I cooked that to about 125 degrees at which time I slid the meatloaf off of the foil directly onto the grill. I cooked it to 160 degrees and took it off to rest for a few minutes. I also grilled zucchini with butter, salt, and pepper. WOW, it came out awesome!! I used 2.5 lbs of hamburger btw instead of the 2 in the recipe. It took a total of 55 minutes on the grill, and it came out tasting smoky and delicious! I used regular Kingsford charcoal and also used 4 apple wood chunks. I had zero flareups, of course I was using indirect cooking. I have owned Weber Kettle Grills for years, along with a Weber Gas Grill, and the Smoky Mountain Smoker, and I have to say that this grill is much sturdier than a Weber Kettle, and the legs actually bolt to the kettle,they don't just push in and "click"!! It is sturdy and strong, and definitely a keeper!!

Great Grill
Grill has nice design, Looks awesome and it cooks fast!!!! Don't leave food unattended long or you will burn your food. Easy to put together, only needed help attaching top to Grill. Front leg is wobbly, and I wrenched it down to the hilt, but in not dragging this grill through the park. It sit in the backyard patio.

A different way to bbq...
this grill cooks very well, just be aware that you will need to use less charcoal than other brands out there and I find it maintains an even heat for a longer time than other charcoal bbqs on the market...clean the cooking surface soon after you are done, if not, it will take more time and effort to clean...very happy with this grill
