First time? Try on in store

If you're a first time Chacos or Tevas customer, I'd really recommend trying these on in store. I bought these and Teva Tirras and neither really worked for me. I would have known this if I had done my research better, but the back strap on these Chacos does not adjust. I have a wide foot but smaller heels (I guess this doesn't always correlate with ankle size because I have cankles but I often have problems with heels being too big) and the heel on this chaco was way too loose. (for anyone comparing, you also can't adjust Teva Tirra's ankle and they were also too big for my heel). I went to a store and tried on a lot of shoes and ended up with the Chaco Lowdown sandal where you can adjust the heel. The lowdowns are also slightly lighter and smaller, although that likely means there isn't as much cushion if you're hiking over rocks, etc. Both have great arch support, similar to Vionic which is my normal go-to.

I really like how supportive these sandals are and feel they will hold up well. The straps have this peculiar system where you pull at them to get them adjusted to custom fit your feet... maybe it just takes some time to adapt to but some days I feel like as the day goes by my big toe is getting strangled. I don't know if they tighten up or if my toes swell. So. I don't love that about them, and it takes longer to get in and out of them as you must do this adjusting every time you put them on and off.

My new favorites

These are my new favorite chacos ! Easy to adjust and super comfy ! This is my 3rd pair of chacos ! They are so durable . I wore them kayaking, camping, hiking . And I only got new ones because I wanted a new pattern ! My first pair are still I’m great shape !!

Chacos are always a good investment. Takes some time to break new ones in but nonetheless they are perfect for everyday wear.

These are womens Chacos. This is my 2nd pair. Fits just like original ones… like a glove. Straps are all adjustable

Run smaller than my old zcloud 2

The photo is of my old pair & the new, both size 8. New are about 1/8" to 3/16" shorter. I'm ok with that since I'm more of a 7.5. Although I'd wanted a size 7, which I also ordered, & 7 runs smaller than the 7 I tried in stores. I was hoping to make a size 7 work for me, bc the 8 straps don't tighten enough on my narrow foot. I wish the heel strap adjusted, or that Chaco would make a narrow option. Also, these have a crazy strong chemical & rubber smell that is not going away after opening. I don't remember my old pair off-gassing that strongly.

Pictures are misleading

I bought the solid black in a UK size 6 from the Amazon Global Store. All of the pictures showed no toe loop and the product description didn't mention this either. I was disappointed as I was specifically looking for ones without the toe loop and thought that's what I'd purchased. I'm keeping them as the hassle of returning is too much. Don't trust the pictures! It's a shame as other than this, the product is good quality and arrived promptly. If you're looking for ones with a toe loop, you'd probably be very happy with them!

Were not female sizes as advertised

I was super excited to find some chacos on amazon since they don't ship to Canada on their website. Unfortunately, even tho I order 9 femalez they sent me 9 male and they are way too big. Will need to return them

My first Chaco pair

I am very happy with my purchase. This is my first pair and I have used them once so far for a walk. They fit nicely, not big not small. I have a thin foot so it's great. I like the toe loop, makes it feel stable and the straps adjustability is really good. An issue I have is maybe an amazon thing, when I added the Women's pair US9 size it becomes a Men's shoe size 11 so I was hesitant of what I would receive, however I did receive the women's correct size. So not sure what's happening there.

Great sandals

the shoes fit great and have no issues. have another pair i bought several years ago but wanted a pair of plain black ones for other occasions. my previous pair havent shown any signs of ageing so hoping these will be the same
