Nice laser at a good price point I would recommend it.
Use this laser for transferring floor layouts to upper grid of stadiums and convention centers. works as advertised comes with a durable hard carrying case which I really prefer over a soft case.

Good, Sturdy and Basic, Auto-Leveling Laser
This is a pretty nice auto-leveling laser unit. Laser points 3 beams: a) up plumb, b) down plumb and c) level. Pros • Easy to use, pretty intuitive. • Auto leveling unit. Once the unit gets out of level more than about 4 degrees, the laser blinks slowly to let you know it is not level. • The laser goes solid (not blinking) once the unit is level. • Unit claims 1/8-inch accuracy and a 100 ft visual distance. I have no reason to doubt that. • Comes with a case and has spots for unit batteries plus 1 extra set. Nice to have a spot for extra batteries. Also, nice that you can store the unit without batteries to save it from going dead in the unit. • Comes with a very adjustable mounting bar that looks like it will grab or mount to a lot of different things (has an adjustable claw). • Unit has three 1/4inch, 20-thread mounting holes, very handy with tripods. Cons • Didn’t come with an instruction manual. An included piece of paper claimed one is downloadable, but I wasted a half hour trying to find it on the web. Only a 3 mini-page, wordless, quick-start guide was included. • Has red lasers - while these are pretty bright, some people find green to be easier to see. • The case it came with was much too big, but the level is somewhat delicate, so maybe that will help keep it safe. • Case hinge is only flexible plastic, it will likely crack after repeated use and/or in severe cold. • The mounting bracket only fits in the case if fully collapsed. A pain if packing quickly at a job site.

Well designed, very versatile - you can tell a lot of thought went into this.
Ever use a tool and just know that the people who designed it actually USE the tool - they're not just sitting in a room on a computer deciding what is and what is not a good design feature? That's what this three dot level is. Why? OK, first there are threaded mounting holes on THREE sides and the bottom. This means that someone has been stuck in a situation where they had to hang or mount a Laser level at a weird angle or location. You can mount it pretty much anywhere using the included mount. The odd inverted "L" shape? It's so you don't have to use a baseplate or mount to see the downward projected dot. If the level is out of plumb, it will slowly flash - but stay illuminated. This way it can still be used at an angle if needed. The mounting clamp is pretty clever. It can be set to a variety of angles and folds up for storage. But it could be better. It's missing a couple basic features: There's no magnet, so you can't stick it magnetically to anything. The clamp adjustment does not have a quick release, so you have to turn the dial - a lot - to open and close the jaws. But it also has a lot of features typically found in higher end clamps. The level height can be adjusted several inches once it's attached. The clamp swivels so you can get the level flat, even on angled pipes and so on. The clamp opens wide - almost 3 inches and has detents for curved items, such as pipes. Really handy tool with a ton of uses. This one is well designed, including rubber shock absorbing bumpers around the entire level. Also includes batteries (2xAA) and a nice case. I also have to give a shout-out to the shaped battery holders in the case. It holds 4xAA batteries - because anyone who uses AA or AAA batteries in tools knows to NEVER store them with the batteries in the tool.

Nice Device
This laser is a good tool. It comes in a hard plastic case with batteries, a mount and a booklet. It produces three dots, not straight lines. It is easy to use and is accurate. The mount is solid if a bit clunky. It is versatile and fits tripods. I do wish it had a magnet but that is not a deal breaker. So far it is performing well. It seems sturdy and I appreciate the inclusion of batteries.

Homeowner quality that is good enough.
I bought the Craftsman as an alternative to the more expensive Dewalt three beam laser plumb bob because I rarely need a floor to ceiling plumb. I generally use a laser line level for trim carpentry, and love my Dewalt cross line lasers. I was hoping that Stanley B & D would somehow make a "mini" Dewalt version with the relaunched Craftsman brand. I was wrong. Despite the chunky styling, and "tough" hyperbole - the Craftsman is really a fancy toy for the homeowner. The Good: -Accurate enough, within about 3mm over 20 feet I've found. Not awesome, but useable. -Four 1/4" tripod socket mounts. You will need these, as the included clamp is garbage. -Pendulum lock, as I'm told it's better for it. -Rubber over molding on the edges to help absorb knocks. -Uses two AA cells -Comes with a "protective" case. The Bad: -Unlike the Dewalts which are water resistant, the Craftsman makes no pretense as to such. There is not a single gasket or seal to be found anywhere. It would probably fog up in a humid environment. -The battery compartment door (no gasket) feels about as flimsy as you could possibly make one. This will probably the first thing to break. -The on/off switch which doubles as a pendulum lock is also the least positive feeling switch I've used in a long time. There is no positive feeling to it, so you must look at the pictogram to determine if you've actually properly turned off the unit. -The red dot is somewhat larger than I'd like - but acceptable considering the price. -The "protective" case is better than nothing. It does protect the unit well, but the case it self is not built for repeated use. It uses a living hinge, and the clamps on the side (which are hard to undo) also appear flimsily constructed. The handle, when rotated too far will also "pry" open the case. The case is also designed to house other laser products, so putting the unit back in the case takes some trial and error to find the right position. I get it, Stanley B & D are doing their best to reduce costs. Perhaps just don't include a case next time. -The included bracket is somewhat of a bad joke. I found the jaws just a little to small to clamp onto counter edges, or studs. It works, just not great. Thankfully, there are 4 different tripod screw mounts on the unit - which you will most certainly use. -The chunky construction and appearance give the perception of ruggedness, but somehow it's hollow construction puts doubt in the users mind. The appeal of this product is really for the homeowner, that thinks they're getting a "mini" Dewalt version for a quarter of the price and will be using it lightly for a small project (basement renovation, shed, garage, etc.). If you're thinking of using the Craftsman in any pro or extended use capacity - just spend the money and get a better unit.

Unreliable
This product worked great for a month or so then just wouldn't turn on. I work as a commercial framer and I was loving this small accurate plumb laser and then it quit.
