Works as advertised

It literally took me less time to chase the threads on a cross-threaded wheel stud with this than the drive to the Amazon Locker to pick it up. Didn't even have to pull the wheel. When it was done, the lug nut took 2X the recommded torque without stripping out.

Worked for Dexter TorqFlex spindle Hub

Bought an enclosed HaulMark auto carrier trailer that threw the front left bearings on the second use, forcing a roadside repair in very rural area. Got it home and did a full rebuild on all four spindles and discovered the last owner cross-threaded one of the castle nuts. This die did the trick chasing/cleaning the threads. Be sure to use oil and don't go more than1 1/2 turns before backing out and making sure there's no metal debris in the die, or you could cause real problems. Considering the cost of a thread cutting die, this is an awesome deal.

Great for in a pinch

I bought this rethreading die because i needed it quick. Mine came from Amazon warehouse, and even though the packaging was busted, the die itself works amazing. Definitely recommend!

Works- to a degree

This works for chasing threads just fine- this is not a tool that could sustain everyday use on rough threads, but the price is right and for occasional use it'll be fine. You cannot use this on a bolt with a damaged end- if a nut wont begin to thread on it will not work. Otherwise- quality is pretty good, cant complain.

Great Merc prop shaft thread restorer

I had a damaged Mercury 115HP prop shaft from efforts removing the propeller, the brass nut wouldn't even start. Ordered this die in 3/4 X 16 thread and it made short work of restoring the threads using a 1 1/8", 6 point socket and an impact driver with a liberal dose of high sulfur thread cutting oil. In my case the lettering on the die facing outward was the proper way to start it on the shaft.

Did it's job

It's a chaser NOT a cutting die. It is sold as such. If you clean your threads, start straight, and use a little oil it works very well. Fixes up all 20 wheel studs on my dodge like new.

Peice of crap

How do you cross thread a cross threaded bolt? You buy this POS. All the teeth have worn off the first spin from aluminum tubing. 2nd time I've bought some cheap "black steel" fitting from Amazon that is softer than butter.. Returning and I advise you to spend more money and not buy this.

Excellent quality tool for cleaning 9/16x18 NF wheel studs

I bought this thread chaser to clean the threads on my Ram 1500 wheel studs. Lug nuts were getting hard to screw on. Now they spin on with ease. Perfect!!!!
