Good so far
The packaging of this product was criminal. The lid is very tight as designed yet was off, with toxic chemicals spewing out. I was in a hurry so I used it anyway. Spreads like skippy peanut butter. I was careful not to exceed 1/4” in thickness. I applied in at 64 F room temperature but used a space heater to dry at 74 F, which it pretty much did in 3 hours. I used it to tack brick onto the bottom on a cress kiln so I’ll never know how it cured or bubbled or held unless it has a catastrophic failure. But I can say the bricks are tightly bound pre-curing. You’d need a chisel to remove them. I’ll report more later after I fire up and cure the cement but it will be covered with a SS shroud. Hopefully it’ll work god willing. Fire the idiot who packed the box.

Perfect for repairing cracks in fireplace
Wasn’t available at local big box, hardware stores, and Amazon came through with selection and good product. Arrived, conveniently, and worked as expected. Did have a gap about 3/4 of an inch wide that this product filled in a back vertical corner of the fireplace. Be sure to run a low heat fire for a few hours to help harden the product.

Very effective adhesive for firebox
The original adhesive recommended by the manufacturer didn’t hold up very well and this one has until my grandsons got a hold of a couple of the pieces and they broke out… So I need to readhere them again

So far so good, but what a pain.
I thought this product would be the consistency of mortar but it spreads like caulk, had my Father who is a retired stone mason of 35 years help me point the joints of an 80 year firebox that had issues and he said “this stuff is the worse material I have ever used”. It was difficult to spread in the joints and wipe off with a damp sponge, but once enough time was spent came out decent. I let the product dry for 48 hours, after that I started a small kindling fire for about 1 1/2 hours, watching it didn’t get too hot to make the filler bubble, but hot enough that it cured. I have had 3 full fires since, everything looks decent without bubbles and it’s doing the job……a sub $20 patch job vs replacing the firebox entirely.

Works almost as described.
It was indicated - slight damage to the fireplace. But I had a lot of damage (3/4"). And I made the mistake of doing everything at once. now after a week of installing this - still the deep areas are still not dry - it are soft. That's right - install it in several layers, waiting for the previous layer to dry

Worked on the broken fire bricks in my wood stove...
This refractory cement worked really well on the broken fire brick in my wood stove. It was easy to spread out and filled all the spots between the bricks easily.

a good value
This product work on our Chiminea's sever cracks along a third of the bottom. However, as many folks have stated this product did bubble up (two reasons, spread too thick and the "break in" fire was over 500 degrees (per included instructions) but has not cracked or chipped yet. Honestly, how does a person measure that?

looks like it will be great for my foundry build
Very thick cement, looks like it will be great for my foundry build. Container has about 3 liters of cement in it.
