Durable

just what I expected and has lasted a long time

Awesome plastic shovel! Highly recommended!

I needed to do some digging around my above ground pool under my deck. I wanted a plastic shovel in case I accidentally hit the pool wall, so I'd have less chance of damaging the coating on the steel. This shovel was AWESOME! It's plastic but it's amazingly strong and was a great size for digging on my hands and knees. I will buy more so my kids can use them for gardening in the spring (they forget things outside all the time, this one won't rust and the orange is reasonably easy to spot while I mow the lawn so I see it and stop), good shovels which don't rust are hard to find for a decent price. This shovel is WAY better than any of the small shovels at my local big box hardware stores.

Very light and seemingly durable

This hand trowel is very light and seemingly durable - it does the job and is a great addition to a pack is a consideration. I would not expect it ultimately be as strong as a metal on, but as long as you are digging dirt, not prying rocks you should be just fine.

good quality and safe for kids

I was using a metal hand trowel but was always worried about my young kids cut themselves. This product is a great replacement and we can even bring it to the beach for them to dig the sand. My wife and i are all happy with it!

Light weight and works every bit as good a steel

I didn't know you could make plastic strong as steel. And if it bends as bit it returns to shape. No problems in normal garden soil. Dry or wet. Very light weight and has a thumb assist pad for extra dig. At Amazon's price you can't go wrong no matter what. Unless you try to use it to clean out embers in your grill :)

Surprisingly Strong & Light

I was doubtful. I figured this hand trowel would give and flex in my drought hard clay soil, but it didn't! It tackled clay and even rock as if it were metal but at a fraction of the cost and weight. Recommended!

Fantastic light trowel that stood up to months of use

I bought this light plastic trowel as a tool to use to collect sand and dirt samples on an Antarctic expedition. I was pleasantly surprised with how hard the plastic was - it never flexed when digging, and stood up well to scraping up against rocks and gravel. Even after 2 months of use nearly everyday it's kept its integrity and doesn't look too badly scratched! Looks like it'll stay my trowel of choice for years to come. The price can't be beat - costs half as much as most metal trowels and weighs maybe a quarter as much - great tool for field work if you have a heavy pack, prospecting, probably even gardening!

As good as metal ones!

These are VERY, VERY durable, hard-like-rock little spades. They not only dig up sand, but go through regular ground easily. Very good for gardening, digging up weeds, etc. I highly recommend them! Way better than I expected!

Works great

I needed small trowel to repot some houseplants and this did the job. I've only used it a couple times so I'm not sure about durability over time, but so far iit does a perfectly good job for small gardening tasks.

Great little garden shovel.

Great little garden shovel. Been used all summer in the garden and is just great. Fairly wide and quite solidly built.
