Good for If You Need Something in a Pinch

This cord is good if you're looking for something immediately, but not necessarily long-term. The cable does what it needs to, it transfers image data between both ends. There's not really much else to say about it. The material is a bit worse than some other materials, but not necessarily bad. This is an item that you would get if you were in immediate need for an HDMI cord. The shipment can be done within a couple hours, and the item is cheap, so it's not much of a risk to get. I recommend this item mostly as an item to hold until you get a better, quicker, cable.

There is no need to buy more expensive HDMI cables

Please do not waste your hard earned money on overpriced HDMI cables in the name of picture or sound improvements. I currently am using these AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI cables to connect our Yamaha v379 AV receiver to other HDMI enabled devices that link back to our 4K Samsung Smart TV and these have performed flawlessly. HDMI cables come in four types: Standard-speed --> Standard-speed with Ethernet --> High-speed --> High-speed with Ethernet. Since High-speed cables are so cheap (e.g these AmazonBasics cables), there really isn't any point of getting Standard-speed anymore. On the other hand, as most HDMI devices today can't receive Ethernet over HDMI, High-speed HDMI cables are really all you need. ** Some numbers ** Standard-speed HDMI cables are rated up to 1080i ("i" stands for interlaced). In order for a HDMI cable to have a "High-speed" moniker, it must be capable of showing resolutions up to 4K --> 3840 x 2160 at 30fps (or 4,096 x 2160 at 24fps). And as the highest resolution any 4K TV currently on the market can produce is 3840 x 2160 at 30fps, even if you found a $100 cable at your local BestBuy that claims it can transmit much more than that, it doesn't matter as you are limited by your source (i.e your cable box, Xbox, PS4 e.t.c) and your TV's hardware capabilities. Also HDMI cables can either produce an image/sound or nothing at all. There is NO in between. Therefore, a HDMI cable will either work or won't work (it may show a flashing image but this means it's a bad cable). But a more expensive HDMI cable will NOT show darker blacks and sharper colors than a less expensive HDMI cable. You either get 100% of the signal or no signal at all. Now if you intend on running your HDMI cable for more than 50ft, then you might want to invest in a HDMI cable that has "active" chips that help maintain the signal quality over a longer distance (but does NOT make the image/sound any better than the source). ** What about HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 or HDCP 2.2? ** This is another common misconception due to manufacturer marketing. HDMI 1.4, 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 are all hardware changes that do NOT require a cable change! Although there is a difference between them (you can google that yourself), there is no such thing as a HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 or HDCP 2.2 cable! The version numbers refer to the devices that the HDMI cable connects into & NOT the cable itself. The cable simply is a pipeline linking the two. Hence, if you do happen to own a TV and another device that both have HDMI 2.0 ports, any AmazonBasics High-speed rated cable will work perfectly fine with it. ** Conclusion ** At this price point, there is very little reason to spend more money on more expensive HDMI cables over these AmazonBasics High-speed cables. If you have a 3D, 4K, HDCP 2.2 or HDMI-ARC compatible device, these High-speed cables will work perfectly fine for you.

Lasted 5 years. Not bad.

For a 6 ft, $7 cable, 5 years of use is pretty great. I was starting to get a bit of intermittent artifacting though so I finally swapped the cord out today. Also the cord was more heavily used than most. I am regularly plugging and unplugging from the back of my laptop. Also the cord is pretty taught because of my cable management so I think there was always some constant stress on the connection. 5 years. Suffice it to say, I ordered another Amazon Basics as a replacement.

End of the line for overpriced HDMI cables

THIS.... Is Amazon basics HDMI cable... and I can say that it is the best quick option for a nice HDMI cable at any length you could need! Let me clear the air on some HDMI misconceptions real quick - HDMI cables have nothing to do with whatever version of HDMI your tv has be it HDMI 1.4 , 2.0 , 2.1 or 2.2 as that is the PHYSICAL port on the tv, soundbar, GPU or what have you - the cable is merely the transporter from one thing to the other and either work or doesn't. There is no need for a higher 'grade' of cable as there is nothing you can do to the cable to make it transmit data better. I am sure that Bestbuy would love to sell you on 1000 reasons their $150 cable makes your colors better, but that is all marketing. This is exactly like charging your phone, the cable doesn't charge your phone faster as it is all in the block plugged into the wall - this is the same principle as the cable is merely passing the data. The non-braided cable and endpiece are really well-constructed out of generic rubber-ish material, they are ever so slightly stiff, but are otherwise perfect for any need you could have! There is no issue slotting them next to each other either as the head of the plug maintains a slim profile. I recommend this HDMI cable to anyone in need of one! The price is unbeatable for an HDMI cable, and you will be wasting your money on anything more expensive as this is about as good as it gets(unless you HAVE TO HAVE a braided cable). Once again another reason to have high expectations from an amazon brand as this is another example of a great Amazon Essentials product! REMEMBER!! Your cable is only as good as your HDMI port, so this cable can do 1080p, 4k and more!

Best HDMI spare cable investment!

I needed a spare set for my Apple TV in my living room & this has been perfect ever since! It's great for traveling, doesn't take up too much room & is worth the money! No complaints, no issues, I DEFINATELY will be ordering these kinds in the future forever & I would even get a longer one next time since it's great quality long lasting and durability is excellent ????

Good cable good price

The cable is fairly thick but still bendable. I bought this to connect my desktop computer to a tv. All the other cable brands around this length (15ft) were much more expensive. Also it came in a recyclable cardboard box.

It works...like it's supposed to!

It's a special time when nowadays the best thing you can say about a product is "It works like it's supposed to!" I guess that's because some things - no matter how simple or easy to use - DON'T always work. Just check out the reviews for some cables and see! I plugged this in and I've been using it successfully ever since! Just like it's supposed to be!

Thick cable, but works fine.

It's a cable, it works.. but the cable itself is pretty thick and heavy. I wish it was a bit more flexible. Still a great value for the money if you don't need a thinner flexible cable. Picture shows the size of the cable next to standard pencil and sharpie. How this helps someone.

El mejor hdmi calidad/precio

Necesitaba un cable hdmi y no me quería gastar mucho dinero. Fui a varias tiendas como mediamarkt, worten... En todas estaban carisimos, hasta que decidí buscar aquí. Necesitaba un cable para mi ps4 y he de decir que no tenía muchas esperanzas, ya que es un cable relativamente barato, pero he de decir que cumple a la perfección y es un producto totalmente solvente. Los materiales no son lo mejor del mundo, pero es un plástico de alta calidad, a años luz de otros hdmi del chino que he tenido. Si te ha servido esta valoración, me ayudaría mucho que me la marcaseis como útil en el botón de abajo. Muchas gracias.

4K時代のケーブル選び（間違えないように）

4Kテストの基準 CVT-R2基準、色深度10bit（HDR） ①2160P@24Hz@4:4:4 = 約6.27Gbps ②2160P@60Hz@4:2:0 = 約7.83Gbps ③2160P@60Hz@4:2:2 = 約10.34Gbps ④2160P@60Hz@4:4:4 = 約15.67Gbps ※30Hzの場合は、60Hzを純粋に半分で割ってください。尚、当データは音声データを含んでいません。また、媒体のCoordinated Video Timingsによって転送速度は異なります。例えば④は、音声込みで18Gbpsの限界に達してしまい概ね不具合を生じさせます。要するにここがHDMI2.0bの転送限界です。また、HDRにおける色深度10bitとは、RGB1色あたり10bitの意味であり30bit（約10億7374万色）ってことです。RGB各色の階調が1024階調あり、中間色が豊富なのが特徴です。※8bit（24bit）は256階調しかありません。重要なのは「4Kかどうか」では全く無く、リフレッシュレートとクロマサブサンプリングです。ちなみに、当ケーブルは③をクリアしている標準的なHDMI2.0bケーブルです。低品質ケーブルが乱立してしまうのは、②～④に極端な開きがありごまかしが効いてしまうからです。極端な話①、②の利用条件であればHDMI1.4ケーブルでも「転送速度だけは」足りてしまうのです。尚、HDRにおいても勘違いが多いので念の為記載しておきます。 HDMI2.0（リビジョンなし）＝ Rec.2020対応（色域の規格、これだけだとHDRとは言えない） HDMI2.0a = PQ（Perceptual Quantization）方式対応（HDR PQ方式に対応） HDMI2.0b = HLG（Hybrid Log Gamma）方式対応（HDR PQ/HLG方式に対応） PQ対応：カメラ（スマホカメラ含む）、ゲーム（本体・媒体）、Web媒体、メディア媒体（UHD-BD）、AV機器（機種による） HLG対応：家庭用ビデオカメラ（一眼レフビデオ撮影含む）、公共放送（TV）、地デジレコーダー（UHD-BD機能なし）両対応：PC、スマホ、AV機器（HLGをPQに「変換」するのが多い）この中で極端にややこしいのがAV機器であり、地上波（HLG）とUHD-BD、Web媒体（PQ）に両方対応しないといけないケースがあります。また、家庭用ビデオカメラの録画はHLGですがカメラはPQであり、それらの再生機能をもつ場合も非常にめんどくさいことになります。結果的にHLGをPQに変換するものが出回っています。ただし、HLG側は「ピュア」ではなくなるので、その点に注意が必要です。 ※素直にピュア再生したいならPCが一番です。極論を言うと、HDMI2.0aで6.27Gbps付近出れば4K@HDR対応を名乗れます（笑）嘘ではありません。事実です。あんたの設定が悪いの一言です。よってユーザーは、「何に使うのか？」「どんな機器に利用するのか？」を明確にしないと損をしますし、アドバイスもできません。 AV機器なら24Hzでいいでしょうし、PCやゲームなら30～60Hzは必須です。4K地デジなら2.0bは最低ラインですね。 HDMI2.0はもう限界を迎えている規格で、ようやく2.1が登場しましたが、各種機器やケーブルが浸透するのはまだまだ先の話なので、それまでは知識を持って騙されないようにしてください。＜マニアの独り言（凄く参考にされたのでおまけ）＞「HDR」を何故か規格名だと思ってる人が沢山居ますが、HDRとは「単語」です。規格名じゃありません。「すんげぇ表現力」っていう意味なので、規格も何もあったものではなく（笑）「UHD」「Dolby Vision」「HDR10」なら正しく規格名です。強いて言えば上述の「PQ方式」「HLG方式」に対応した国際規格ならあります。「ITU-R BT.2100」ですね。ITU-R BT.2100は、PQ方式及びHLG方式についての「ガンマカーブ規定」を定めたものであり、多分皆が思ってるものとは違いますけどね。※ちなみにITU-R BT.2100はWeb上に仕様書（英語）が上がってます。興味のある人は見てみてください。言ってる意味わかりますから。 HDR（自称）の元祖はカメラでありPQ方式です。カメラのマニアならガンマ補正って聞くとなんとなく意味が分かると思います。よって、本来的には「HDR」表記ではなく、「PQ方式」「HLG方式」を明記すべきであってHDRなんて明記する必要ないのです。最高にややこしい事に、解像度、色深度、ガンマ補正、色域、輝度といった様々な要素の集合体がHDRであり、それらの数値で細かく分かれているのが各規格って訳です。しかもここで大問題なのが、「規定準拠でも設定によって逸脱する場合がある」という事実です。例えばPQ/HLG方式は1080p/2160p/4320pオンリーです。クロマやリフレッシュレートも細かく規定されており、設定やバグで逸脱してしまう可能性があるのです。例えば60HzはOKですが59Hzは仕様書に記載がなく。しかも規格自体も何気にバージョン変更したりしています。BT.2100は2016年7月に初版が出ていますが、2018年7月にバージョン2が出ており（苦笑）一体いつの時代の何の規格準拠だかユーザーには全く分からん訳です。まじでいい加減にしろ。 UHDにはノーマルとプレミアムが、HDR10にはノーマルとプラスが。。。もはや完全にカオスでありHDRとはただの言葉だと覚えておくと多分天下無双に近づけると思います。結局昔で言う「独自の〇〇フィルター」のややこしい版なので。企業のエゴがエゴを呼び規格が規格を呼んでる状態であり、ユーザーは完全に置いてきぼりです。もう絵を買うという感覚と変わらないので、店舗に出向いて実物を見る事を強く推奨します。感性は人それぞれなので。それがマニアが言える最大限のアドバイスです。中には細かい事にこだわっちゃうロスレス過激派が居ますが、これはマニアの精神衛生上の話だけであるってのを覚えておくといいと思います。実際問題PQとHLGを見分けられるかって言ったらまあ無理なので。FHD→4Kであれば4倍の解像度、24bit→30bitなら10倍の色深度なので流石にこれぐらい違ったら分かるんですが、本当に微々たる差を競い合ってる今の規格はう○こなのです。本当にいい加減にしろ。おかげで色々詳しくなったわ。マニアも大変だよ。

トータル20本〜30本ほど購入、使用1年半で6割故障交換

安さと、Amazonブランドということで購入トータルで20〜30本ほど使用。1年半で6割故障しました。仕事柄、10台ほどのTVとDVDプレーヤーなどをつないでいますが、１，段々と接触が悪くなってくる２．全く見れなくなるこの２つの症状のどちらかが出て、違うケーブルに交換すると治ります。 HDMIを使い始めてかなりの年月が経ちますが、HDMIで故障するのはAmazonのみでした。使い捨てで、１回きりしか使わないと言うことでしたらおすすめしますが、仕事で使うor自宅で使用頻度が高いという状況下に置いては、全くおすすめしません。

Delayed review after one year of usage

I bought this product back in 30 April, 2017 for mirroring my laptop screen onto my tv mainly to watch anime and movies. Overall the HDMI cable is very sturdy and the output picture & sound quality is excellent. So far of usage I haven’t faced any issues personally, everything works smooth till now. If you are looking for a well built and durable HDMI cable that would last for a long duration of time along with providing top notch output.. then this is definitely the right choice to go with :)
