Flashing out kills my eyes
I’ve had this hood for probably over a year now and about half the year I haven’t worn it. Loveee the clear view when welding and really wish I could give it 5 stars, but it starting cutting off mid weld. Read that it might need the charging strip put in the sunlight, did that. Changed the batteries. Lasted all of 10 mins before it starts flashing out again. Wish there was some sort of customer service to fix this issue. Over all light weight and perfect view, but can’t see anything if it doesn’t do it’s job! UPDATE: Contacted Blue Demon through Instagram. They are will to fix or replace the issue.

Almost returned out of the box. Amazing lens, terrible everything else
First off I wanted to like this helmet so bad. I have 4 hoods in the 300$ range and I thought I'd give the PANO helmet a go for the price and features. I like blue demon products but not this one. I wouldn't pay 100$ for this. They did so good with the lens and just crapped on the rest of the details. I cannot recommend this product to any full time welders. Maybe a Hobbie welder but I'd still get something more reliable. It's not made to last and my first day using it,I t seared my retinas like tuna steaks. Due to poor design I believe. Where to start? Has grind button and grind mode but the helmet isn't rated for grinding disc fragmentation?? Ok Instead of having a quality front lens cover you have a piece of plastic you bend around the front of the hood that does not have a gasket to stop welding fumes from ruining the most essential part of the hood- the darkening lense. This peice of plastic does not snap on easily, you have to remove a clip and a lock to the clip on both sides, made of brittle plastic I broke on first use. That's 2 loose pieces on each side to drop, lose, or break. Not to mention the battery cap is a crappy brittle piece of plastic and you need a tool to get your batteries out. They brag about the cap having a little tool on it to get the battery out, it's so thin I didn't even get one battery out befor it broke. Headgear is kinda ok. It has 4 straps across the top of your head instead of 3. Dosnt grip your head of you have a full set of hair like myself it slides around. When dropping the hood it has bumps which at first I though was dumb but I actually like it. It stops your hood from dropping when you bend over and has no issue dropping with a head bump. To be fair. The clarity of the lens may be unmatched, or equal with my 300$ optrel, and miller hoods. But if you don't have direct arc light ( if your just watching the front of your puddle of a mig weld, due to angle) it dosnt just flash, it just fully undarkened for about 5 seconds. That is unacceptable period. I would pay 300$ for this lense in a quality helmet build. But it's not.

panoramic isn't exactly necessary.
thought it would be a game changer, helmet is pretty good but with all the lenses inside it has a lot of reflections from behind you. panoramic is a gimmick. would have rather bought a Miller with a similar size center lense. have to put the sensitivity up when doing sheet metal button tacks because it flashed me multiple times when I tack just as the dim shuts off. for the money I can't complain. it's got great lenses and it works. I've satisfied my desire to try a panoramic helmet and realize it's very unnecessary

Welding helmet
I’m giving this product a hard 4stars only because there’s only one issue with this helmet. It has NO rubber seals for the lens in the inside, nor for the outside side lens. Condensation develops between the main lens and the protective lens and as for the outside lens, smoke ends up dirtying the inside of the protective cover lens. Either then that, I love this helmet. Awesome 180 degree view! I see my weld pools very clearly! And since I have a big face and head, I love the fact I can adjust the head brace so the face shield sits farther away and my nose doesn’t touch the inside lens. I’ll definitely buy whatever updated version they might come out with!

No batteries, no seal to prevent damage to the most important part.
For the price, it would be nice to know that it now requires batteries out the the box, even though no where in the documentation does it say anything about them except for the technical drawing of the components, and its referenced in the disassembly instructions. Doesn't mention a type, etc. and literally every other mask comes ready to go out of the box (coincidentally, the box it shipped in had a lithium ion battery warning on it). Its a great mask, I just got my second one (first came with batteries), however I see that instead of adding a seal to prevent the issue that broke my first one (I got slag under the plastic shield welding under a car), they just have a sticker saying that problem voids the warranty.

Amazing hood
Compared to my Lincoln 3350 it’s lighter and more comfortable! Way better view. The pano is something I wish I had a long time ago! Can see a lot more and with welding this a must along with comfort! Highly recommended in my book. Only thing, the box blue demon says it does not include batteries but mine did! I should of checked before I ran to the store to buy the batteries. I’m thinking maybe the seller put batteries in and forgot to take out.. idk. Great product!
