Works great

Very helpful in keeping the sun off and being handsfree. I wear it in the pool to keep the sun off my baby. I bought the camouflage one. It's not very sturdy but does what I need it to do.

Saved me from the sun

Had a fishing trip planned in Big Bear, and knew I would need a little extra protection from the sun being out there for 8 hours. It held up well and had good coverage, definitely made a difference. Was comfortable, opened and closed easily. Wind almost took it off me a few times, the attachment to keep it on my head wouldnt stay tight, but overall it certainly did the job.

My Mailman wears it EVERY DAY

I spotted my mailman wearing this so I got one for my boyfriend who works outside. It looks silly but if you are willing to look silly this actually works. My mailman uses it every day - shades from the sun and he also wears it in the rain. So it comes with no instructions - at first we thought it was defective. We were trying to figure out how to open it before putting it on - but in order for it to open fully you simply put it on your head. The strap under your chin needs to be in place for it to open fully. So basically, don't try and see what it looks like without putting it on your head you won't be able to open it fully.

Quality Product

I recently used this umbrella hat after the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, Ga. I was impressed by the quality and durability of the product. It kept me cool. It was interesting moving through a crowd of people :) creates a good amount of space between you and others. I purchased when on sale for $5. After using it, I wanted to purchase more at that price, but to my surprise... regularly priced. I will definitely get more for stocking stuffers!

Better than Expected

Bought this on a whim, figuring I'd gamble with the $10. I had a similar but much smaller version back in the 70s without the ventilation or adjustability. Really surprised how well it fits and the quality. I'd like to add one small tweak to the design and that is a sweat band on the headband, ie - terry covering on forehead band; The rubber is sturdy, but is too warm for me, so I'm adding a small cloth band in the front. It could easily be a velcro design that is removable and washable. I'm happy with my purchase, and yea, it looks a bit silly!

Durable, Comfortable, Works Very Well!

Very impressed with the quality of this unit. I've purchased several other brands of head-worn umbrellas; all of them were cheap and poor quality. This one is a definite keeper! Works as advertised and fits comfortably. As it's about at Large as a full sized umbrella it can actually keep you dry in the rain as well as do a better job keeping you out of the sun (unlike the smaller ones). Larger than average protection bulbs at the ends of the ribs. Decent storage bag making it ideal for keeping in the car. NOTE: Be proactively aware of other people around you while wearing this. Especially the ones mindlessly walking by with their noses buried in their mobile devices! It's easy to turn your head and poke a passerby in the face.

Tight for your head

Liked this instead of holding an umbrella. The place where you put on the head can hurt and is right. My daughter who is 5 said it is tight, imagine what it feels like on an adult

ALIENISTIC

when putting up the umbrella - there is a knob to affix the other side for spoke-locking, it can bend around, so keep your eye on it while placing it together, and then it is a well-made umbrella hat.

Interesting in concept, but mildly disappointing in practice.

I feel like the aluminized coating isn’t substantial enough to block the 5G rays or the signals from the satellites. I can still hear the voices. Very stiff to deploy. Plastic centre post aligns poorly with retaining tube, resulting in more -difficult that reasonable deployment. This also caused one of the ribs to be bent in the process of initial use. Retaining headgear is very tight, uncomfortably so. Chin strap is okay. Upper ventilation opening is satisfactory. 6/10 probably would not purchase again. Several rolls of tinfoil are less expensive and offer better protection from malignant rays.

Works great on my Seadoo but only under 15 mph.

I bought it to help keep the sun off my head while on the Seadoo. It works perfectly and gives me shade when the sun is too hot.. It stays on up to about 15 mph. It seems well made and should last for a while.. As long as I don't go too fast and lose it. The chinstrap holds it on fairly well

Sun shade yes, not rain, however, some what handy and I think I like it, not to the level loving it. Overall great idea!

For the person who is difficult to buy for

Bought it for the person who has everything, except an umbrella hat. Plans on wearing it on next vacation for shade. Looks like he has a flying saucer on his head but he doesn’t care.
