Good

Always wash it after use and place it back in container, otherwise it hardens up without moisture. Works great from start, just rubb it on car surface until car is dry it will not leave spots

Great Value and Drys as Well as a Natural Chamois

I've used a natural chamois all my life to dry cars after washing but they have gotten so expensive I thought I'd try the AmazonBasics towel. It takes getting used to vs a chamois but once the wiping technique was understood I was pleased with the drying result. Read on for my evaluation of the AmazonBasics Towel when compared to a chamois. 2.5 YEAR UPDATE: have had these now for over 2 years and stored them in the original plastic tube. They continue to work excellently and most impressively there is no mold or mildew on them even after stored damp in the containers for months at a time. -- NOT SLIPPERY: A natural chamois will glide over a metal surface. I can lay it flat and pull on each corner and glide it over the car hood and get a nice dry no watermarked surface. The AmazonBasics towel was sticky on the metal surface and when attempting to pull it as a chamois it would jump not glide, leaving water that had to be wiped again but it did dry the surface well. -- VERY ABSORBENT: While it did not glide over surfaces, once you push it over surfaces with repeated passes the towel would thoroughly dry the card hood without watermarks. Using it on the windows was the same result. Repeated passes would collect all the water not leaving any watermarks. More work than a chamois but the same good result. My impression was that the AmazonBasics towel was more absorbent than the chamois. -- STORAGE WITHOUT MILDEW: I was surprised to see the instructions state to store the AmazonBasics Towel while damp in its plastic storage tube. That's bound to grow mold or mildew right? While after many months weeks stored damp in the tube and being warm temperatures I inspected visually and even smell the towel. I saw no hint of mildew growth on the towel. It's great it can be stored damp so it's pliable immediately upon removal from storage. -- GOOD LARGE SIZE: at 26x17" the towels are nice and large and made quick work of drying a Jeep Wranger which is not a small car. UPDATE: 9/21/19. After 2 months of storing the damp chamois in the tube as stated in the instructions, there was some black mold growth on the end near the cap. The cap is not strong and cracks and perhaps exposure to air caused the mold. I removed the chamois rinsed and rung it out but the black color would not rinse out. See the attached picture. It did still work fine drying and absorbing the water. CONCLUSION: For the price of these synthetic chamois and think they are a great value and will continue to use them and with a little more work they are as effective in drying as a natural chamois.

I use it to catch water from my dog's water bowl (sloppy drinker)

What I like is while the chamois stays moist, it absorbs alot of water and I simply wring it out, rinse and wring it out again to put back on the plastic tray where my dog's bowl sits. Other absorbent materials (e.g. ShawWow) tended to allow mildew to grow quickly and started to deteriorate after washing. I had to let the ShanWow dry before using again which meant I kept switching out chamois. This one works well, no smells or signs of mildew growth or deterioration after over a month of usage.

These are the best I've ever used.

They hold so much water. These are by far the best I've ever used. I keep my car very clean. These make drying the car so quick and easy. I can't believe how much water they hold. And they come in a plastic tube to store them so they don't dry out.

A great product

These chamois cloths feel and work almost as good as the real thing. I use them in my kitchen to wipe the suds off of my black stovetop after scrubbing it. They work fantastic… far better than the name brand I had been using. I was somewhat leery of storing them in the provided container but that too works well, keeping the the cloth damp so is ready to go. Note that if you leave them out of the container, they get board stiff just like a real chamois.

Not as good as the real thing but works well overall. For the price it's not bad. Time will tell how durable they are.

Just Like the Old Days - Great For Car Drying After Wash - Wish it Were Bigger

A Joy to use - perfect on car finish. Wipes water away just like the chamois of olden days. Wish it were bigger so could do half of roof or hood at one wipe.

Worked really good

I used these for the first time. They are very soft and as you want them, very absorbent. Most chamois dry very hard after use but these don't. Really happy.

Durable and effective

Bought in 2015. Still going strong - don’t wash car often but keeping it damp in case means it’s always ready to use.

Very different, but good product

I would like to have a mixed feedback about this product. It's neither like a cloth not like a sponge. Got a very good absorbance, but not an easy to use material. You need at least couple of days to find out the best possible manner to handle it. Once you learn the tricks, it's very easy and convenient to use. Else you will lose lot of energy while using it. Somehow I feel like using a dry microbial cloth after using this chamois, specially on the glass surface. Altogether a different product and experience. Take a chance. May be you too will like it.

Awesome product, high absorption, soft

This is an amazing product. I used it for washing my car. The absorption levels are really high and it helps to get a clean dry finish without any streaks. The first time it needs to be rinsed with soap and water or else there's some smell. It comes in a plastic container and the instruction is to store it damp. The fabric is very soft and will not damage the vehicle's paint or glass. It is a bit hard at first since there's a lot of friction but once you fold it and wipe, it becomes easier. I would strongly recommend using this over some of the so called micro fiber products available.
