Almost impossible to put on hose ... ALMOST

Can not believe the high review ratings. These are almost impossible to install on the hose ends. Forget the hot water (unless you like making a mess). Forget the hair dryer (a heat gun can help, but not worth the trouble). Camo does not even make the male/female hose connection the same (one has an "boss" that helps keep the hose wire in place as you attempt to put it on. I have bought/installed MANY of these (provide maint at an RV park). Since I buy/assembly several at a time, it is worth the time/trouble to use the following method (besides, easier the next time I reuse the fittings on a new hose). Look at the end of the new hose carefully. Sometime during manufacturing, the hose wire is "pulled" before cut-off making is samll in diameter. Cut off as much hose/wire as needed to get back to correct diameter hose. Place as much hose over the fitting as you can easily hold in place. Attach hose to fitting with one sheetmetal screw (wood screw will work), see pic Make sure you carch at least one ring of the wire. This will keep hose from slipping back off as you "SLOWLY" work the hose onto the fitting. Make sure you get at least 3 ringss of the wire on the fitting. Remove screw and attach hose clamp (NOT TO TIGHT or you will strip the clamp). Good luck.

Only for sewer hoses with actual 3" diameter opening!

This is a good product. However, it requires a sewer hose with an actual 3" diameter. Actual diameter of popular sewer hoses are 2.5". Therefore, while the fitting is as described, the sewer hoses may be only 2.5" in diameter. This was a problem for connecting my Camco 20' sewer hose with this fitting.

Ideal for a hose repair

They were tough to put on at first once I got the hang of it the second went much easier. These have a rubber seal inside where they com together and makes it so you need allot of pressure to connect them Overall they work well and a fair price .

Too big

The only issue is that it is too big to fit in the compartment that holds my sewer hose. Mine is inside the back bumper of my camper, so we have to take it apart.

Value and ease of use

The one side does not have little bumps to hold the end when you twist it together or to first install it on hose so it makes it more difficult to install

Not bad, occasionally leaked slightly when joined together

Not bad. A bit of a struggle to slip into a new sewer hose, but once there and held in place with the included hose clamp it sealed well. Unfortunately the two ends did not seal quite as well to one another when used to join two sewer hoses together, perhaps because the bayonet end had only two claws; there was an occasionally bit of leakage at the joint. I stopped using these when the hoses wore out and bought a new sewer hose with attached ends.
