Revising my Rating - I got the clock to work. Helps to read instructions! DUH!
I love this coffee maker. In twelve years, this is the 3rd Cuisine Art on Demand coffeemaker I have owned. The one I am replacing I've had for six years. It still works but over the years sediment builds up in areas that I can't access to clean and I get sediment flakes that have at times plugged the dispenser only to walk into the kitchen and find the coffee pouring out onto the counter and floor. Probably my fault for not cleaning the coffeemaker well every day. I've also found that some coffee brands (SBKS) and especially finely ground coffee can be a problem as the grounds swell and flow over into the vessel. My only complaint - I cannot set the clock. Don't know why. If I use the program feature I can change the time on the clock but going back to the clock feature to set the clock ....no go. Not really an issue for me because I really don't use the program feature at all and there are other clocks in the kitchen. So bottom line this makes great coffee - Just so you know I am a coffeeholic...(-:) but also I like not having to lift a heavy glass or stainless coffee carafe. See revised review. Got the clock working

BEST coffee maker
Got this coffee maker yesterday and immediately washed all the parts. The easy to understand (with pictures) quick set up sheet got everything ready for a First Use (high expectations!) run this morning using the Auto Start feature with 12-cups, which it made in 10 minutes. But—LOVE this—you don’t have to wait that long to get your first cup because you can push the button for hot coffee when it’s ready (within a few minutes). Perfectly hot and delicious with no clunky, leaky carafe. I’m now in HEAVEN with the coffee maker because I used to use the Hamilton Beech single cup coffee maker (with the carafe on the side that leaked—hated that so never used it) and had to wait 7 minutes for each cup of coffee all throughout the morning, which is a big time waster, but now Cuisanart has my coffee ready and hot for me for the next 4 hours with the simple push of a button, no waiting and NO MESS. 5-stars, easy. Why did I wait so long?!! Never going back to another coffee maker nor another coffee making style—Hot Now Push-Button Serve and Go is it!!!

Very good but tedious to clean
First, this is a very good coffee maker. Coffee is flavorful and is kept hot in its dispensing reservoir. Having no carafe to wash is nice, however, the coffee reservoir tank has to be similarly cleaned (it is removable) and given all of its crevices, is actually harder to clean than a regular carafe. The polished metal heating pad at the bottom of the reservoir will stain within a few weeks of use (you can de-stain it by using some Barkeeper's Friend cleaning powder but, again, this is more work than you'd have cleaning a regular glass carafe). And you absolutely must keep the spring-loaded pour spout clean to avoid drips. Another issue with the reservoir is that it has a catch that connects to the machine's coffee "fuel gauge" so that you know how much coffee is left in the tank. This is a great feature, however, you can expect it to fail with 100% probability within 2-3 years of your purchase and, as far as I could tell, there is no way to fix it (I honestly don't even know why it fails since it's presumably a simple float mechanism). You can purchase a replacement reservoir right here on Amazon for $45 (search for "Cuisinart Coffee Reservoir"). While this will fix the fuel gauge problem, depending on the price you paid for the coffee maker, the replacement reservoir can be as much as 50% of your original purchase cost. We purchased a replacement reservoir about 2 years after purchasing the coffee maker when the fuel gauge stopped working properly. The replacement actually lasted much longer than the original, around 6-7 years before it failed. At that point, I just bought another Cuisinart Coffee maker on sale because it was like getting a replacement reservoir for $45 plus an entirely new coffee maker for about that same price (gave away the original coffee maker with the wonky fuel gauge). We're much more diligent about cleaning and drying the water and coffee reservoirs so that they don't accumulate ugly scale. We never encountered a "clean" light issue as some reviews have mentioned here. Again, this is a very good coffee maker but be aware that it requires cleaning diligence and the coffee reservoir will almost certainly need to be replaced within a couple of years of your purchase if you want to have a working fuel gauge. The original Cuisinart coffee maker we purchased 12 years ago is essentially identical to the one we just purchased so Cuisinart, who are undoubtedly aware of the issue with the reservoir have made no attempt to address it. My advice would be to only buy this on sale (around $80-$90). Do not pay the regular price (about $120) as this machine is not worth that amount given the future additional costs that you will be paying.

Really good brew station
This was an early Xmas gift for my son as he really needed a new coffee maker. He likes the brew station concept very much. Coffee stays hot in the machine, tastes great all day, and only gets discharged one cup at a time. The light that comes on when pouring a cup in the dark hours of early morning is a bonus! Removable water container is easy to fill. All components are easily removed for cleaning. He would have given 5 stars if (just in case Cuisinart reads these reviews) the removable water container was made with a more durable plastic. The container tends to bow out at the top when it is filled to the max, making it more difficult to get the top on. He also would like to see the inner coffee holder to be made differently so that there are less “things” to get filled up with grime … he is an industrial designer, so is always looking for ways to improve a product. Those two issues aside, he loves his new coffee maker and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good, hot cup of coffee all day long!

Great Coffee Maker
Overall this is a very good coffee maker. It brews a good cup and keeps it hot without seeming to burn it. I like: 1. The dispensing system, as I don’t carry the pot to a table, I just pour a cup when I want it. 2. No more crusties on, or the finish coming off the bottom burner. 3. Looks much tidier on the counter. With respect to the complaints of others: 1. The power cord is enclosed in a cavity at the back of the machine. It is about 2’ long. The unused cord is out of sight and tidy. BUT, I did have to pull harder than I expected to get it to begin to come out. 2. Drips and leaking - the dispenser has a spring loaded valve similar to any coffee maker where you can steal a cup while brewing. If grounds escape the filter they will likely break the seal. THIS MUST BE KEPT CLEAN. 3. Carbon filter - there is a holder for it, so it does not float around as at least one reviewer stated. Don’t know if it actually does anything, I use filtered water to begin with. 4. Heat - serves a hotter cup than the machine it replaced. 5. Clock / timer while not intuitive works - read the manual. Cons: 1. It requires more cleaning, more regular cleaning than a standard machine - see drips 2. While everything that requires cleaning is modular and lifts right out, the reservoir has a lip all the way around the top which prevents easy draining of old coffee or rinse water. I’d like to see a spout area. 3. The manual could be a bit more detailed, to avoid most of the above complaints. I like it. For me the pros far outweigh the cons. It is a tidy looking machine that makes a good cup of hot coffee. I will leave a cup under the dispenser while brewing and I won’t have it brew when I am not attending it.

Easy to use, efficient coffee maker
I’m very happy to have purchased this coffee maker. It is easy to use and to clean. Makes excellent coffee and keeps it hot. We bought a Cuisinart automatic burr mill grinder as well, which is a good companion piece and also recommended.

Excellent Product
I do not have any dislikes of this product. The product provide excellent flexible in the number of cups required. The clean up is easy. Also really like the programmable start time.

No broken pots!!
My husband has weakness and tremors in in his dominant hand and is unable to lift and pour from a carafe in a typical coffee maker. With this model he regains the independence of pouring a coffee for himself. And there is no worry of spilling a full carafe or dropping one. It is easy to use and easy to clean besides. A win-win all around.
