Slicing / spiralizing is NOT it's good feature
It is good at controlling the speed with which it chops / emulsifies. Grinds block cheese fast and easy (instead of having to grate it). Easy to clean. It just does not spiralize well at all. Three different "slicing disks" that really don't do much different from each other. Easy overall to use as a mini blender / grinder / emulsifier.

Overview and Comparison with MQ505
I originally bought the basic Braun Multiquick 5 because it was highly rated by Cooks Illustrated/America’s Test Kitchen. They liked the Multiquick 5 (MQ505) because the handle was “grippy” and the bell-shaped head reduced splashing. I agree with them there. However, in their review they stated that additional attachments were generally not useful, neither was variable speed, higher wattage, or a turbo button. I disagree. This model is a 400-watt motor compared to a 350-watt on the basic Multiquick 505. I definitely notice a difference in power. And the variable speed allows for starting slow and speeding up when you don’t know how much power you will need. The turbo really shines when spiralizing - ziiiiip go the zucchini! The spiralizer works great. And for larger veggies, you just have to cut them to fit in the chute. Butternut squash is fine if you don’t mind cutting it down to size first. The mixer attachment is great for mixing pancake batter, which you can pour straight from the container onto the griddle. Haven’t tried chopping yet but other reviewers seem pleased with it for that. The stick blender did a passable but not fantastic job creating froth in hot milk. Overall, if you’re into upping your veggie intake through spiralizing, I think this is a great upgrade from the Multiquick 505. (Also, the black Braun handle attracts visible lint on the “grippy” surface, which I didn’t love.) Update: Great for making green smoothies too! This morning I made a green smoothie with the stick blender and provided plastic beaker. The basic Multiquick 505 version left little green flecks of spinach, while the turbo on this one blends it in thoroughly. Even handled a small chunk of fresh ginger. I haven’t tried with kale, which can be a little more “woody,” but softer fresh and frozen fruits and veggies are fine. For comparison, I also own a Vitamix. I would still use the Vitamix for larger batches, more fibrous veggies, ice etc. But for simpler recipes, this Braun is great. I also prefer its ease of use compared to Vitamix. I like that I can just stop it, dip a finger in to taste, and adjust the recipe as needed without taking the whole thing apart. Lastly, the stick blender does fit in wide mouth mason jars. I have used both the pint size and the taller “asparagus” version jars. Blend and go!

This is the coolest spiralizer I have seen!
This is the coolest spiralizer I have seen! It is so handy to have attachments for different sizes of spiralized vegetable noodles. It easily slices through hard vegetables like beets, sweet potatoes and butternut squash. I recently made a delicious salad with spiralized cucumber, apples and lightly steamed beets with a little apple cider vinegar. You do have to get smallish things to put to the food tube, or trim them to size to fit. Make sure everything can slide easily through the food tube, or you're going to end up with a mess. And for heaven's sake, use the food tube, don't skip it so you can use a fatter vegetable. You could ruin the blade that holds the vegetable onto the motor! I also like the other attachments, the pitcher, the blending and grinding blade, as well as the ice crushing blade. I wish that it came with the whisk, or that it was easy to buy other accessories. I ended up buying one off of eBay. I bought this to replace an old immersion blender that finally gave up the ghost. But even when it was new, the motor wasn't as good as this one. The spiralizer is so quick, even with hard vegetables! Spiralized vegetables, like zucchini, carrots, sweet potatoes and beets equal less carbs, calories and inflammation than regular wheat noodles. Stop thinking about it, and get this versatile kitchen appliance. It's also pretty.

Happy with this purchase!
Love that this does so many small jobs. I don’t like products that only do one thing. The bonus here is that this product does many things well. I was sorry when my 25+ year old Braun immersion blender broke but this is, so far, a really nice powerful and versatile replacement. Only thing to watch for is that a few parts are not supposed to go in the dishwasher and since I can’t remember which parts those are I end up hand washing all the various parts. Hoping to get another 25 years out of this one.

YES!
I bought this to replace a 15+ year old Braun hand blender. It wasn't broken or anything but I thought it was time for a replacement. Its almost identical in design with slight upgrades. I never had use of the chopping or "blender" accessories in the past and honestly hated packing those up during a move since I rarely used them. However this blender and spiralizer in one is GENIUS. I have an older spiralizer (one that first came out that you have to crank and switch out blades from the body) which takes up space and is harder to clean.. thus using it less and less over time. I blend frozen fruits and ice every morning and it knocks out smooooooth smoothies. The spiralizer is so easy to use and omg I love this thing.

WHY NO OWNER'S MANUAL?!?!
First, this is an amazing kitchen appliance.... replacing my previous Braun handheld blender which was probably 20+ years old, and MUCH less complicated (and limited). However, I was astonished that this had no manual. It is NOT easy to figure out. I tried Braun.com (NO help) and youtube (a couple videos; not much help). Fortunately, I hadn't tossed the box yet, so was able to figure out a couple things from the pictures. And, alas, on the inside flap was "braunhousehold.com," where I am now able to figure out a few more things. I'm happy with the purchase; just frustrated for this working woman to have to spend so much time when a manual should have been provided.

Functional spiralizer with immersion blender and traditional blender functionality
The media could not be loaded. This is a 3-in-1 unit – the main being a spiralizer with three choices of blades, but attachments are included to allow use as a small blender and immersion blender. BASE/MOTOR UNIT The base unit is a large, comfortable-to-hold 400w unit. On the top of the unit is a dial to allow speed selection from 1 to 21. On the side is a momentary ‘on’ button (i.e. you need to hold it down), and a “turbo” button. The attachments screw onto the base with an approximate quarter turn. The power cord is 4’8” long. SPIRALIZER The spiralizer comes with a 5-cup jug (holds 1-2 zucchini cut as spaghetti, depending on size), three blades (one is for pasta-esque 1/8” cuts, one is for wider ¼” cuts, the other is for extra-wide 2-5/8” cuts), two required attachments to connect everything together, and a piece which physically gets pressed into the vegetable to spin it around. At first, assembly is a bit confusing, but once you’ve done it a couple times, you can assemble and take apart the unit very quickly. I’ve only used the smallest blades to make zucchini pasta, hashbrowns, and spiralized carrots. The diameter of the chamber (and therefore the widest vegetable that this unit can process) is 2.5”. Spiralizing is quick and easy, but there is a piece of waste vegetable with each vegetable. Because of this, I spiralizer full vegetables, then cut to size after. Included is a video of me spiralizing zucchini at one of the lowest speeds. SMALL TRADITIONAL BLENDER/PROCESSOR An alternate lid can be used with the large jar to accommodate included chopping blade or ice blade. Both blades are very sharp and effective for their size. The ice blade works surprisingly well for making shaved ice. The chopping blade works but you need to shake the entire unit to drive large pieces of vegetable down towards the blade. Note that a piece normally clipped to the bottom of the base unit needs to be removed for this to work properly (it took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to figure that out…) IMMERSION BLENDER This is a one-piece item that clips onto the base. The stainless steel design is easy to clean, and the shape of the base seems effective for mixing (I’ve only used it for blending liquids so far, but it is the same shape as my Braun immersion blender that works really well for blending squash soups). MISCELLANEOUS All plastic parts are labelled as BPA free, and all parts (except for the base/motor unit) are dishwasher safe. A cleaning brush is included to help you clean the blades without exposing your fingers to ‘damage’. A 20oz measuring jar is also included, but I don’t see the need for it. The instruction booklet is fairly useless, but each piece can only fit in one place, so it is fairly easy to put together. The unit is made in Romania. WARRANTY The included warranty is for 2 years. Like other Braun/DeLonghi appliances, service requires you to ship the unit back to them at your cost. They will ship you a repaired, remanufactured, or new unit at their cost. OVERALL We really like how versatile this unit is, however if you are buying it only as a spiralizer, you’ll likely find there are way too many pieces. I wish a bag was included to keep the kit together – we’ve been using the retail box to store all the attachments between uses. I’d also like to see a better instruction manual with some photos or better pictures to make the first use less daunting.
