Because being operated on; Today was first time i was able to use stapler. Will not accept staples;Using Bostch staples as recomended. I am very experienced with Bostich products. I am very disapointed.

Constant dry fire and bent staples
Really disappointed with this tool. It dry-fired every other staple (I tried two different brands of staple), and regardless of the type of wood I was shooting into it would couple up half the staples on the surface. Returned.

Yes this shoots 1/4” crown staples.
I don’t know why Bostitch markets this tool as using 7/32” crown staples — the metric spec for the tool is “6mm crown” — and 6mm is _between_ 7/32” & 1/4”. And Stanley/Black&Decker (Bostitch’s parent company) sells variations of this same tool under their PorterCable and DeWalt brands as “1/4” crown” staplers. Marketing. Works absolutely fine with non-Bostitch 1/4" crown staples. I like this tool. It’s well balanced, comfortable to use, drives consistently in a variety of materials, is easy to load, easy to place the staples where I want them. The whole nose opens when you load it — so clearing jams is completely tool-less. I haven’t had any jams. I haven't been using Bostitch staples. Good warranty, and there are replacement parts & rebuild kits available. Unlike for cheap, disposable tools… Quibbles are that it no longer comes with a swivel air fitting (just a straight one), and the standard Bostitch hard case it comes in (not a soft one as described) has no place to hold even a small package of staples. Doesn’t come with any staples either. Still I’ve been happy with other Bostitch air tools and I’d buy it again.

Best Stapler out there
The first thing I did when I got this stapler is load it with 1/4 inch crown Senco brand 1 1/2 inch long staples and shoot into hard, dry fir. Sank them all, no problem. I have yet to use the Bostitch 5/32 crown staples. Rest assured, this is a 1/4 inch crown finish stapler. I bought this one because it's one of the few that have dry fire lockout. I find it quite annoying to have to constantly check the magazine to see what's left, and much more annoying to have to backtrack through blank holes. With this one you just shoot until it stops and then reload. Love it! The belt hook was another must have for me. I recently put up 100+ cedar fence boards with stainless steel staples (1/4 inch crown of course) and that hook was a very convenient time saver. This stapler does have tool free jam clearing although it works differently than most. Instead of unclipping the front half of the nose piece, you simply open the magazine and the rear half slides back with it giving you access to any jams. Haven't had to use it but a nice feature. Oilless is a very nice convenience as well. The only con for me is the case. It's sturdy enough but has very little room for extra staples. The tool itself is definitely 5 stars.

Shot thousands of crown staples in a few hours
I used this to lay 1/4" underlayment for under a sheet vinyl floor. I used reduced air pressure, dialed in the depth on the stapler, and in a few hours and a few thousand staples I was all done. I got the staples to be just below the surface but not too deep that they would go through. Vinyl is nice and flat and no raised spots. I did use a hammer and screwdriver to countersink a few that I didn't hold the stapler firmly enough or the staples hit a nail in the floor. Sometimes underlayment or the subfloor may have inconsistencies and the staples may drive deeper but that is ok as long as there are enough to hold the underlayment flat.

Great improvement on the cheaper one I own
Very nice. Put about 10,000 1-1/2” staples through it with maybe 5-10 proud staples and no jams. At times it seems like the mechanism that determines which firing mode you’re in fails and you can manage to double shoot. Still, this is mostly me being picky. It’s a fantastic gun. By the way, the piston/driver top is now all metal and the air release is out of the back near the gun air hose connection. Don’t underestimate how great that little improvement is. The old plastic deflector doesn’t get damaged when you drop it (or when you inevitably use it as a hammer) and you never get a blast of sawdust infused air sprayed into your face. Finally the belt loop should have a double action release as the single can be inadvertently activated by hammer loops or other tools and be disconnected. Happened to me twice.

Be careful 7/32 crown
Most pneumatic staple guns use staples with a 1/4” crown. They will not work with this staple gun. This staple gun uses 7/32.” crown staples
