I've used it twice. The first time I'd give it 3 stars. The second time 5 stars.

I've wanted a GPS golf watch for a long time. I settled on this one for three reasons. First, two guys I regularly play with have one and both love theirs. Secondly, my golf game doesn’t require a more expensive model that provides an endless list of detailed information. Third, the watch finally came back on sale for $50 off. It seems to periodically. I’ve used it twice. Here's my reaction so far: Liked: * Rather than hoping that someone in my foursome will have a GPS, now I can just glance down at my wrist. So convenient. * I like the multiple-face display configurations. I have mine set so the numbers showing the distance to the middle of the green are extra large, which makes the number I care about easy to see, even in bright sunlight. * Super comfortable. Normally, I hate wearing watches but this one is ultra-lightweight and didn’t bother me a bit. * I’m no techie but downloading the app and pairing the watch to my I phone 13 was a breeze. * This watch provides far more information than my golf game requires but it’s nice to know it’s there if I start getting better. * No complaints about battery life. I still had plenty of power left after two rounds. Didn’t like: * On several holes during my first round, my watch had trouble finding the next hole. Even my cart-mate, who has the same watch, couldn't figure out why. His watch found every hole without any problem. That was frustrating. But during my second round (at a different course), it performed flawlessly. In fact, during that round, the golf cart had a GPS screen. I compared the distance on my watch with the cart GPS and found they were very close every time. * It took longer than I expected for the watch to locate and load the course, but I don’t consider that a major issue. * There is definitely a learning curve. I read the instructions at home but it's challenging to practice using it unless you're actually at a course with the course downloaded.

He loves it!

This has been perfect for my fiance. He uses it on all courses. Wish the batter held a little longer between uses, but that is the only slight downfall.

Accurate and easy to use.

I have had occasion to use several Garmin GPS watches . This particular one is easy to read read and use. It does not, however, have all the bells and whistles some other watches may have . It certainly has all the info necessary to play a good game. And it’s very accurate info. Charging is effortless .

Good golf watch

Previously had an early S20? Worked fine for years until the battery died. Could not change the battery out apparently? Bought the S12. So far so good. The best feature is that it fastens to your arm. Wont get lost like the many rangefinders that are left on a course somewhere.

Didn't know I needed a GPS watch until I got this

I had been using a hand held range finder until one day I played with a group of men who all were wearing GPS watches. I looked it up, and purchased this. I also changed out the strap to a velcro loop style. Pros: Very light weight. Accuracy seems consistent with range finder, and it's much easier to get distance by looking at your wrist. Able to get lay-up distances, and distances to hazards. Relatively inexpensive. Good contrast in bright daylight, easy to read. Stroke entry works well. Cons: Fairway and hazard visualization is not as good as the expensive color models. Too many steps to "measure shot" or "change hole position" Battery life is as claimed, but it is too short and requires recharge too often. More steps than one would like to get distances to front and back of hazards. Other: Like any GPS watch, it doesn't actually know distance to the hole. My solution is, when in range of the green for the range finder, to compare the "Center of Green" from the watch to an actual range finder "distance to pin", and use the difference for other future shots at pin. To replace the original band, I recommend: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DD57SHV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is inexpensive, lightweight, and much easier to put on or remove. Overall, an excellent compromise between weight, cost, and functionality

Good watch. App wouldn't pair

Fortunately the watch works without the app and so far has all the courses I've played. Could not pair with my android phone since it needs to go through the app to pair. Kept getting Server Error message and neither the how to pair instructions nor the garmin tech's guidance overcame the error. However the watch works fine without the app. Distances line up with course markers. Although instructions say you can change holes i had difficulty doing it my first time out with the watch so it's not as intuitive as I had hoped. Allow 5-10 minutes for the watch to find the signal when you first get to the course but once you select the course there is no waiting for info. Definitely a plus knowing distances for club selection.

The delivery was prompt. The watch is easy to use. The distance is close to accurate. The face is easy to read in sun or shade. I'm able to get three rounds out of one charge.

Great, simple golf watch

No bells and whistles, just the basics, exactly what I was looking for. Very easy to use and courses load quickly. So far the battery life is quite good.
