READ CAREFULLY! This is a SOLID black dye.

If you are looking for a semi transparent acid wash type black stain that has depth and different shades like a marble, this is NOT that. This will instantly turn your counters solid black. With that said, be very careful when you apply this. DO NOT wipe it on with a brush or rag or sponge. If you do, you will have permanent streaks that you cannot get rid of unless you sand it away and start over. Be sure to dab your sponge or rag on a piece of cardboard before applying it to your counter to be sure you have the right effect/texture because it is instantly permanent. Now I learned the hard way and mixed my first batch according to the bottle (4:1). BIG mistake! I applied it with a rag and the streaks soaked into the fresh concrete instantly before I even lifted the rag the first time. I tried to go back and even it out and ended up making so much worse. It was a disaster. There was nothing I could do to cover or eliminate the streaks. I ended up sanding it down and re-applying. This time I diluted it probably 8-10:1 and applied it with and sea sponge and kept dabbing all over. Then I added a little bit more stain to the mix and went over it again and kept repeating this until I had a somewhat desired effect. If you are wanting a pure solid black countertop then this will work great, but I suggest spraying it on somehow if you use the 4:1 mix or you will not be pleased. Good luck!

Disappointing Results!

I poured our my own countertops, waited 4 days before I applied this "stain." After it dried, there were streaks and areas that did not stain evenly. After I applied the water-based apoxy, and did a light sanding with 600 grit wet paper, there were area that came right off and the concrete was not even stained. This is more like a paint if you ask me. Man am I disappointed in this product.

Contents not usable

I first ordered this product in 2017 and loved it. Needed some again , ordered a week ago and opened the bottle today to find that 3/4 of it was full of a spongy guck - cannot mix or get out of the bottle. Only 1 cup liquid .

I love this stain

I love this stain!! I used it to stain my concrete countertops. It took about 5 coats to achieve a true rich black, but it dries fast and evenly. Finished with 6 coats of sealer for a glossy finish. Such a perfect result.
