Just keep in mind that this model is not as powerful as some others, so it takes longer to boil - OK for small jobs

(minor) cons: - thick electrical wire and plug sticks out from socket 8-10 inches; instead of forcibly bending the wire at the plug (and possibly damaging it over time) I went ahead and replaced the plug so that the plug/cable remains close to the wall (replacement plug: https://www.amazon.com/5-15P-Replacement-Right-Angle-Assembly/dp/B077GGYTQH) - not insulated; unlike 'cool to the touch' kettles this one will get warm with use; for occasional use (ie, unit has time to cool down between uses) this should not be a problem; for extended/repeated use the outer wall and lid could get 'too hot to touch', ymmv; for me this really isn't an issue but I wanted to make it clear to potential buyers that this is *not* a 'cool to the touch' unit pros: - sits solidly on base (does not wobble) - heavy electrical cord - no exposed plastic for water to come in touch with - interior is a solid piece of stainless steel (no seams to leak) - double-walled (but not insulated); this tends to keep the outer wall from getting 'too hot to touch' (with occasional use); see related 'con' (above) - plastic oval on lid is nice touch; allows closing of lid without touching potentially hot metal lid - opening is wide enough to get my hand into the unit if/when I need to clean it unknowns: - these (relatively cheap) kettles typically die on me after a couple/few years when the switch burns out; this unit has some good design aspects so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping the same designers put a (relatively) heavy duty switch in the unit After a week of ownership (~30 uses; boiling water for mug of tea; occasional cup of instant-soup/instant-oatmeal) I'm happy with the unit.

Pretty Good Overall

Update Feb 26, 2020: After using this kettle for nine months, I am downgrading my rating by one star. Reason being, it has a design flaw. When pouring water from it, it dribbles out from the lid. This is not caused by overfilling it (there is a line on the inside of it that advises of the maximum fill) but because of the design of the pot. The spout and the interior holes to the spout are aligned with the very top of the kettle. Therefore, when you tilt the pot, the water not only starts flowing through the spout but also dribbles out of the space between the pot and the lid. Unless you are extremely careful in how far you tilt the pot to pour out the water, and then continue pouring very slowly, you will inevitably get water dribbling out from under the lid, down the pot and/or onto your counter. It is annoying. The other annoying feature to this pot which others here have mentioned are those interior level markings which are only on one side of the kettle and thus you have to pour water in from the left side of the pot if you water to read the markings at the same time. If you are using the faucet to fill the kettle (I don't, I use a Pur Water Dispenser) you still have to hold the kettle with your right hand -- which might be okay overall, but then, you have the lid sticking up to the right as well. Bottom line, the design of this kettle is not perfect. I still like it and will not be replacing it until I have to. Hopefully not for a long time. **** I really like this kettle. I like the way it looks, first of all. The stainless steel finish is very nice, doesn't show fingerprints and is easy to clean (I use just a little water and sponge off spots, and then dry it with an eyeglass cloth so as not to scratch the finish). The kettle pours very nicely, with no drip. A full kettle boils the water in roughly seven minutes and is much faster than my stovetop kettle used on a gas stove. Please note, though, that water boils at different rates depending on your altitude. I live at roughly 2500 feet above sea level. The inside is seamless. There were some spots of discoloration on the inside bottom but I don't think they are affecting the kettle in any way. My experience has been that these spots are common with stainless steel kettles, having something to do with the heating element reacting to the steel. I'm not concerned about them. I really like that the inside is completely seamless without any bolts or screws, or any type of plastic (what a relief!). The water comes to a fast rolling boil. When I tested the temperature, it read 212 to 215 degrees. A true boil. The water will stay quite for hot for quite a while but I usually use it within a minute or two so I'm not sure how long it holds the temperature to 212 or close thereto. Overall, I very pleased with this kettle and hope it gives me many years of service. I would have liked it to be a bit larger. That would be my only complaint about it. It's a bit on the small side for my needs but given how fast it boils the water, boiling up another pot when needed is not a big deal.

Great hot pot. Heats water quickly but the outside of pot still gets hot. I purchased this pot because it said double walled outside stays cool which it does not but still a great pot.

vinegar will get rid of spots

solid kettle - holds a lot of water! heats quickly. can leak water like most electric kettles I've ever used - nothing crazy, but a slightly wet countertop - so I always keep mine in a large decorative bowl just for peace of mind. as for the spots that form, I just boil a little plain white vinegar in the kettle once a month and problem solved. have had for 4 years now and still going strong

Sleek and health conscious

Great little kettle. Enough to fill and decent tea pot with hot water or a water bottle. Great, solid quality and is used 2-3 a day. Well made. No plastic on the inside or the spout. Stainless steel only. A well-made product that should last for years.

Good kettle, little plastic

I was trying very hard to get a kettle that minimized plastic exposure and went through several returns before finding this one. All of the glass kettles I tried had a silicone ring by the heating element and most stainless steel ones had a plastic veiwing window. Happy to report this one has no plastic or silicone below the water line, only the hinge on the lid is plastic so not quite perfect but the closest I have found. It otherwise boils quickly and looks good. If they developed one with a steel hinge and temperature control it would be perfect.

No plastic touching the water

Was looking for a kettle with no plastic components touching the water. This fit my needs perfectly, the kettle is easy to clean and it's going strong after more than a year of use.

Easy to use, good design.

This kettle worked very well. The metal design fits well in many kitchens, is aesthetically pleasing and pleasant to use. The water boils fast and with little noise.

Love this Kettle!

Everything about this kettle is perfect! After spending days.... or so it seemed, researching and reading every review - this is the one I went with. I've had it 6 months now and I love it. I have had all the makes that end up with rust inside of them and really was feeling frustrated with the fact we can send people to the moon, but we can't even make a kettle that doesn't rust! Crazy! Well, so far - this is the one. Enjoy!
