Good enough so far for the price! Will update in the spring!

I ordered this cover for my new 18’ x 52” round above ground pool and used it when we closed our pool in early November 2022. It is my first time ever using a solid above ground pool cover, so I didn’t know what to expect. I am actually surprised that it has held up so far (knock on wood) during some of these crazy winds and storms! We used the red “string”/wire/whatever you wanna call it and ratchet that it came with and were able to get it to stay put so far. No extra cables or weights or anything to keep it held down. I bought a small pool cover pump to pump water off of it when we get heavy rains. A good tip is to leave SOME water around the cover (especially if you’re using a pillow!) to keep it from parachuting during heavy winds (although it still will a little bit…especially during really high winds). Use the winch to tie as tight as you can and make sure the cover is secure and you won’t have to worry about it blowing off. I am actually shocked it has stayed on! Keeping up with pumping water off is kind of annoying but I think it will be worth it not having to deal with a green swamp like we would with a mesh cover. Using a pillow in the center makes pumping water off a LOT easier. Do not drain too much water because this cover is meant to sit ON TOP OF the water! Do not pull it tight! We only drained about 3-4 inches below the skimmer and returns. The lower you drain the water at closing, the more stress you’re putting on your pool’s walls when the heavy rain and snow comes! It is a solid cover so it is NOT necessary to drain so much water like you would with a mesh one. Quality is mid at best, I suppose. It is pretty thin and flimsy but slightly better than just a regular old “tarp”. I plan on only using this for this season since it was cheap and buying another one for next closing. Overall, I recommend this cover if you can find it for cheap and don’t have high expectations. Forget about the 8 year “warranty”. This will last 2 seasons at best — maybe 3 if you don’t get a lot of heavy winds or rains. It is pretty thin and looks like it could rip easily. It has stayed on and has exceeded my expectations thus far. I will update this review when I take the cover off in late March/early April and let y’all know how it did! So far, so good!

Surprised to report that this held up all winter long!

I waited to write this review until the spring. When I opened this cover, I was confused. It looked like it was made from a trash bag. It was not the typical tarp material that I expect, it really was just a piece of thin plastic. We thought it may last a month, tops. SHOCKINGLY, it is still there and it is in one piece. I live in Nebraska and we have had one of the windiest winters/springs that I can recall. It held up. The grommets did not pull out of the cover, the seams held up and best I can tell there is no leakage to the pool underneath. It works.

DO NOT BUY THIS POOL COVER!!!

This cover is absolute trash. It has completely fell apart. It has ripped to shreds. You can just poke your finger through it anywhere. This has been terrible. Getting the pool going this year is going to be horrible because of this. If I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT BUY THIS COVER!!!!

Fits Perfectly

I bought this for my 20' round pool, it fits great. The material is that of a tarp so it is light weight and easy to handle. I was able to install it by myself. The dark surface of this cover will help greatly to heat the pool.

False warranty advertisement by manufacturer.

This item has 8 years warranty as advertised by manufacturer. This cover lasted only 1 winter and within 8 months it was tearing apart. I contacted Amazon they advised me to contact manufacturer for warranty replacement. Manufacturer came back to me after sending receipt and pictures of the damage. They said "Under the warranty agreement I am responsible for the prorated amount of $23.02 and the shipping amount of $18.58. There is a 3% credit card processing fee the total will be $42.84." Whereas the brand new item cost $48 from amazon. I contacted Amazon again to return the item and they were very helpful with replacing the item and they also promised to investigate why a consumer has to pay $42.84 for a warranty replacement. Feedback for Amazon is 5 stars and for manufacturer is 0 star.

Good pool cover

Fitting on our above ground pool around skimmer mounting was problematic and consequently allowed wind to get under cover in that area. Once weighted with water it stopped flapping but not sure how well it will last considering it has an 8 year warranty.

It is very thin and did not last a year the ratchet thingy for pulling it in to secure it broke the 2nd time of usage a complete waste of money, do not buy

So far so good: Tarp 1, snow & wind 0.

I was hesitant to try this pool cover, as we have considerable snow where I live (see picture of snow already 1 foot over pool top and winter not done). The thing is, the cover lays on the water you leave in the pool when you install it, so there is no actual weight on the cover that would cause it to rip. I cannot comment on how clean the water will be when the snow eventually melts, but am very impressed with how it held up so far through the snow and wind!
