Good enough for home use, not for professional use.
I used this thing to help me pull the C4 automatic transmission out of my 1965 Mustang fastback. I believe the build quality for this transmission jack fits the bill for an at home DIY'er, but I could see it getting torn up in a professional setting. The casters do not roll as easily and nicely as some other transmission jacks I have used, and the pump is EXTREMELY slow, and this is after bleeding all the air from the cylinder, it legitimately moves in maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch increments on each pump of the handle, that is the main reason for the 4 star review. Assembly is pretty intuitive, instructions could be easier to follow. The unit seems decently sturdy, I didn't have any fear of it tipping over or anything, however the saddle does seem a bit chintzy, but it did it's job. Overall, I would recommend this transmission jack for lighter to medium duty use.

Great Tool for The Money
Well the jack arrived in a box that was fairly ripped to pieces (as many of the other reviews mentioned). Aside from that the jack itself was very clean and fully assembled. I was somewhat surprised at how clean it was considering I purchased one that was slightly used. I found the chain to be rather cumbersome to use so I actually chose not to use anything to secure the transmission to the jack (a little risky to do but I made sure I kept one hand on the transmission while I was jacking it up). However, if I really would have needed a way to secure the transmission to the jack, I would have used one of my ratcheting tie-down straps. Overall, the jack performed really well. However, I encountered 2 issues when using it. [Issue #1] - The jack sits a good bit higher in the front than the pictures would lead you to think. My floor jack could only raise my truck approximately 2-feet off of the ground but I would have needed it to be raised an additional 9 inches higher before I would have enough clearance to roll the jack with the transmission sitting atop of it under the truck. To get around this issue, I had to place the transmission on top of my floor jack, roll it under the truck, then roll the transmission jack under the truck, raise the floor jack to the same height as the front of the transmission jack and slide the transmission from the floor jack and onto the transmission jack (this task was a lot easier said than done!). [Issue #2] - The 2 front "swing arms" located on the black face plate, had to be removed because they were coming in contact with the cross member of the frame of the truck which prevented me from being able to push the transmission all of the way to the back of the engine. Other than the 2 issues described above, I did not encounter anything out of the ordinary. In fact, having the ability to tilt the transmission up or down in the front and rotate the entire unit clockwise or counterclockwise really made one of the more difficult installation tasks a great deal easier. This product is really meant for someone who works on cars a few times per week at most. It's a great tool for the "weekend worrier" type of mechanic. With that in mind, I think it's a great tool for the money. However, I would not recommend it for a full service transmission shop that requires a heavy-duty jack for frequent/continuous use.

Works great only one problem
Excellent product works great ???? only one problem didn't lower enough to get transmission out from under my 2002 c2500hd with 6.0 Two wheel drive on the jack. I also have nerf bars installed. But we just raised the vehicle on jack and jack stands to get it out and it worked. Need to buy taller jack stands. Jack worked smoothly and efficiently great product.

Issues with tech support...
After assembling and following setup instructions, including purging air, the jack would not hold a position in the top 12"-18" of travel. Double-checked fluid levels but no go. I contact Torin tech support two times and have yet to receive a response. I drained the fluid that shipped and replaced it with a quality hydraulic jack fluid, and it is much better but will slip a bit at the very top of its travel. The jack is sturdy, and the base is very stable under load, so it's disappointing to have these issues.

Best value for what it's made for
I do heavy truck work and light vehicle work. I've used transmission Jack's for both applications. Some people buy a Jack that is made and priced for a lighter application, then complain it doesn't hold up in heavy applications. Big Red did a good job on this product and priced it at the best value out there. If the vehicle your working on has a diesel engine, don't get this jack. This is a well designed and built jack for passenger vehicle work.

Poor design for sturdiness
The only reason I gave it a generous 3stars is because I think I fixed the problems that it has. After I assembled it I did the air release like the instructions say. Which was hard to understand by a picture of a screw driver and instructions saying to pinch rubber plug to let air out. Basically after pumping jack about halfway up push on the side of fill plug for air bleed off. After all that it leaked from the valve pretty bad. Out of desperation I used it to lower a C6 down from my car. It worked pretty good for that, but noticed it was leaning a lot. So got the transmission off immediately. So the leak got worse and was thinking about returning it, then decided to pull the valve out. So by laying it over and having the valve the highest point on the hydraulic part of the jack removed it. Well a bunch of air came out and I put the valve back in the o-ring was great. Stood it back up pulled out the fill plug and topped it with hydraulic fluid, then did the air bleed off step. Wanted to make sure it had plenty of fluid in it. Well no more leak and seems to work great. As for the leaning issue I added 4 self taping bolts 2 on each side.(see pictures) It's very sturdy now. Piss poor original design with only 3 bolts to secure the stand to the legs.

Good value
Nice Chinese made lift. Packaging was weak in that the box the lift is in was not placed in a shipping box but just had a label slapped on it. Box developed a hole in the slide and the handle that you pump it up with and turn the hydraulic valve with escaped. Good thing I had an old floor Jack with the same designed handle. Does the job well for the money.

No hardware but does the job if you fix stuff your self
My Jack showed up unopened and looks to be unused. But is missing all the bolts and chain. Beside that it does the job. For the price point it's at.

Sturdy
Nice trans jack, very well built. All pieces for assembly were well packaged. Very good product.

A little too light-duty.
This jack was a little light-duty, so I returned it. I went and bought something more beefy, that someone is a proper garage would want to use, daily. I'm sure this jack is OK for occasional use.

Bent leg
When I used first time after receiving it to lift transmission from sub-frame, the one of leg was bent. I contact Amazon service center and they recommended return it. But it was already assembled and is too heavy to return. If seller read this review, I hope that seller will replace the part that was damaged. It's too weak and four wheels are not touching on the ground at the same level. Not a good machine. Be careful to use.
