Works for what I got it for, sturdy until proven otherwise
So when I got this, I thought that it seemed a little weak. The steel its made from seems thin, and when the lid is open I had concerns it would possibly break or bend. That being said, I haven't had any issues with it since I've been using it. I bought it specifically to store all of my drills bits and accessories in. Despite my misgivings, it hasn't actually bent or broken yet. When the lid is closed it seems a lot more sturdy. I think perhaps if the lid was open and you dropped it that it could bend, but I'm not going to test the theory. Given the price for this item though I'm pretty happy with it. It doesn't have a huge footprint and it looks nice. I think I would buy another one if I had need of another small toolbox. I'd much rather have a metal one like this than a cheapo plastic one.

Would be a much better box with two latches, other wise a good value.
The box was purchased for a specific special tool. Good box but needs a second latch because of the weight of the tools.

Perfect fit for basic tools under the cargo floor of a typical SUV
If you have an SUV with a removable cargo floor and you want to keep a basic tool set in the vehicle, the dimensions of this tool box allow you to keep it under the removal cargo floor without taking up available cargo space on top (at least with my experience with a Chevy SUV type vehicle).

great squash toolbox for cramped quarters
By no means is my 98 v70 XC cramped!!! But im the guy that prepares for away-from-home incidents. So i boought this toolbox to cram among a full size 16" spare, 2 heavy chains, caution triangle, 10 bottles of water, granola bars, a length of rope, reflective vests, work gloves, oil rags, rubbermaid cont of rubber gloves. I TELL YOU this toolbox FIT. At least up until i needed to fit an 18" 12g BANG BANG for an 8hr trip. It is a squash toolbox, fairly well built, the latch fit up until a week or two later. but with that, i chose to just squeeze it back to where it should be. Good tool box, fits a full socket and ratchet set, a 25ft tape, 12" 16oz hammer, oil filter wrench, 2 crescent wrenches, my leatherman, vicegrips. recommended!

A BIG RED TB 102 16"HIP ROOF TOOL BOX
I bought a red hip roof tool box that was 16 inches long and 8 inches tall. I bought this for my RECIPROCATING SAW 1/2 INCH with 16 FOOT OF ELECTRIC CABLE. It fit perfectly and I bought a whole set of Reciprocating blades to go with the saw. (IT FIT IN THIS TINY TOOL BOX PERDECTLY, AND HAS A LOCK ON THE BOX TOO.) When I first seen this I did not think this wood fit in this tiny box. I WAS VERY WRONG. (IT ONLY GAVE ONE MEASUREMENT OF 16 INCHES LONG, WHY I DO NOT KNOW, MUST BEEN IN THE MISPRINT.) EVERYTHING FITS GREAT. One Recip.. Blades all in a ting box with lock. (PERFECT.) Never under estimate a picture, because you could be wrong. James D. North

Small metal toolbox.
Have only used it a couple of weeks. A design issue causes it to not be watertight at the hinges. The latch was bent to one side in shipping when I took it out of the factory box. It was not put inside any other box and there was not adequate packing around the latch to protect. I took a pair of pliers and straightened it out and it seems to work okay. No tray or dividers inside and pretty shallow but fine to separate out small tools.

Solid, Simple
I picked up two of these to put together simple toolkits for maintaining some of my equipment. The metal isn't so thin that it'll bend easily, and the optional rubber feet were a nice touch (like for when I have to set these on a kitchen counter). The latch is sturdy and operates easily, so no fumbling when in a hurry. Would definitely recommend these for small and simple kits.

OVER ENGINEERED. POOR QUALITY.
The box is metal which is what I use. The designers seemed to have a need to add aggravating things. The lid has a flange to prevent it from opening all the way. This prevents you from putting tools in it as you use them. It also causes it to close by itself if your not working on level ground or a wind comes up. they drilled holes in the bottom to install rubber feet. This lets water in if you are working on leaky plumbing. It also prevents you from sliding the box towards you if you need to bring the box closer while working on something. I'm sure they will wear out within a year of use. The tray is useless if you plan to put anything with any weight on it ,like a wrench set, as the tray will bend and fall into the box and be hard to lift past the indentations that should hold it up. Fortunately I only wished to store tools in it not use it as a working box and I did not pay full price. I siliconed the holes and recycled the tray.

Expensive for the Size, but Great Quality!
As the title of my review states... I was shopping for a small toolbox to contain my gun cleaning stuff, and was a bit hesitant to spend the money on this one, given the comparably sized plastic boxes are less than half the price. BUT, the quality of this box is second to none. Very durable, and great fit and finish on the box. I'm happy I bought it.

A little cheap quality but good enough
Not bad, pretty thin steel but it serves it's purpose for storing all my basic tools in one spot. Latch and handle are of better quality than the actual box so can't complain too much.
