Fickle to use
I bought a pair of these for my drill pres. I was tired of the metal flinging from my hands. I wanted something easy to use, but it took a while to get it the way I liked. The biggest problem is, it lifts t track out fast. I had to use screws with nuts to keep it from doing that. And you must keep all hardware in the front. Or it will bend itself or the thing its attached too. For me, I used a heavy plate steel I had around, and put a screw in the bottom, using a nylon nut in that really hard to get at hole they included in the center, so I can swivel the clamp. The rest I used some bar metal to slide into my track. That set up works, but the controls are fickle. A tiny turn of the screw makes it either possible or impossible to close. And there is no large knob like they had on older models. Its an allen key, that isn't included, and you have to keep it around so you can adjust it if needed. I would have liked to see a longer shaft as well. I can't just change it because I need a ball head to make that end work. So I have to add wood to make it longer which isn't ideal in all situations. It could have also used padding on the lower part too, its sharp. I had to print a tpu cover for it, looks better, and its easier to use. Not cold there either.

1 of 4 does not work, the others are really useful
These Bessey Auto-adjust in line toggle clamps are great and very easy to use. I am using them with a Rockler T-track table as an extra set of hands, to align drawer parts and hold them in place so I can glue them together, and then apply conventional F-style clamps to compress the joints. The Bessey Auto-adjust clamps only have a limited range of adjustment (~1 inch), but by changing the thickness of wood spacers between the clamps and the drawer sides (see pictures), I can accommodate a range of drawer sizes without moving or replacing the mounting blocks under the clamps. My reason for only awarding three (3) stars is because one (1) of the four (4) clamps I purchased failed while I was setting it up for the first time. It worked for a few minutes, and then suddenly there was NO clamping pressure whatsoever regardless of the adjustment setting. These clamps have not been abused. I am using them at close to the minimum possible clamping pressure. My Rockler T-track table is not intended for this type of use and may not be strong enough to apply serious clamping forces this high above the table surface without damaging the T-tracks.

Clamps are GREAT but can be better with a knob added
The media could not be loaded. As one reviewer said, once you try these clamps you will never go back to the old style. The fact that you can set tension and then change to pieces with different thicknesses and it will auto-set the same clamp pressure is fantastic. However, every time you want to make a change to the distance away from the clamp, you have to track down a wrench to change the nut on top. The thread size they use is about 5/16, but won't fit a 5/16 plastic knob. (Must be metric, and who sells plastic metric knobs?) I made a custom knob out of wood by routing a perfectly sized, nut-shaped hole in some 1/2" Baltic Birch plywood with my Pantorouter (search pantorouter on YouTube to see a fantastic home-made tool for mortise/tenons and special applications). Now I don't have to keep a wrench around. :-) I also mounted it to 3/4" baltic birch with a hole in the center to add a 5/16 T-bolt to easily attach the Bessey to my Pantorouter table top. Now I can move it around with ease.

Bessey Reinvented the Toggle Clamp
I am a professional woodworker and I bought these for my business to use with a router/shaper coping sled that I am building. Buy if (1) you want to use these in a jig/fixture that will get used for many repetitive cuts, or production work (2) you need to hold material of different thicknesses (3) you want to adjust the hold down pressure to protect delicate materials. Don't buy if a regular toggle clamp will work for your application. Especially for infrequent use, and where all the material is of the same thickness. Many thousands of people have managed to scrape by and make a living using regular toggle clamps, before these came along. I bought these since I wanted the best I could get, as am using them in a production environment. I am satisfied and they certainly hold the material tight. Tip of the Day: Place strips of PSA (adhesive) backed sandpaper on the surface of jigs/fixtures to greatly enhance the hold down abilities of toggle clamps. If you really need to hold a part securely and simply cannot risk having something come loose (aggressive cuts on a shaper come to mind) use a couple of screws placed in a concealable location in addition to your toggles.

unique product
I've ordered both the horizontal and vertical version of this clamp. There's a much greater clamping range with the vertical clamps. These clamps are very large for toggle clamps, and do not fit well in many applications. One of my horizontal clamps bound up from the get go and had to be returned. I use mine to clamp picture frames for precision miters, and really like the fact that tension remains constant. This is really an important consideration for finish moldings where I'm very concerned about too much pressure marring the finish. There is less than an inch range on the horizontal clamp though. Again, the vertical clamps have a greater range. Overall a really unique product and very ingenious design. I would advise anyone to check the specs before ordering as these clamps are quite large and may not fit if space is tight.

Works Great

Brilliant for repetitious workflow. Not as great for variable workflow.
Pretty brilliant mechanism. It self-adjusts to consistently ensure a firm clamp down on objects with slightly different depths. Would be nice if they made it easier for this thing to quickly attach and detach from a work surface. I don't use it often because it takes a long time to get it secured in the position I need it in. It's probably great for repetitious workflow, but most people have a highly variable workflow.

nice clamps
Im a fan of other bessey clamps due to how smooth they operate vs cheap clamps. This one works just fine as well, but honestly nothing special about it. So, in my opinion, this is overpriced compared to cheaper options as well as other bessey clamps.
