Easy to do. Quality is questionable
These icicles are easy to put together. There aren't enough pipe cleaners because you will need to cut then in half instead of thirds to make them long enough, so you will need to buy extra. There were alot of broken beads so I am unsure if I have enough to complete all 30 icicles. I have completed 8 icicles so far, and found 13 broken beads already

Cheap and Disappointing
I just don’t understand all the 5 star reviews on this kit. I just don’t. It’s beyond my comprehension. These beads are lower quality than ones you’d find in the craft store in the kids’ section. If I had known, I would have bought plastic craft store beads instead! These beads are NOT shiny like the photos depict. They don’t twinkle and are the lowest quality plastic. Many pieces were broken and I couldn’t use them which was fine because I had beads left over. I had beads left over because the pipe cleaners on which you place the beads were not long enough to make all icicles the same size. I don’t mind that at all because icicles in real life are all different sizes. My issue is with the company not making a quality and consistent product. I find that to be dishonest and disappointing. How difficult is it to supply the correct size pipe cleaners? I improvised but I should not have had to. This kit was NOT AT ALL worth the price. Also, wherever I placed glue the pipe cleaners and beads turned amber. I used normal school glue. Now I have icicles with dark orange dots at the bottoms. This makes me SO ANGRY. I am going to have to cover the icicles in super fine glitter for them to be even remotely pretty or presentable. I’m sure once I’ve doctored them up, they might be pretty. Right now they look very cheap. I suppose you can use these on top of gifts at Christmas along with a gift tag. That would look pretty. But I can’t say I recommend these at all. Also they’re A LOT smaller than I thought they’d be. Please don’t waste your money. Do this instead: 1. Go to craft store 2. Purchase silver or white pipe cleaners (or any color you like) Make loop on top. 3. String 6 larger size snowflake beads followed by 6 smaller snowflake beads. Then 3 larger round beads, 3 medium, 3 small, dab of glue on bottom. Done. I can guarantee they’ll look way prettier than these.

Good product. Easy and fast to make.
Instead of using the pipe cleaner, I used 18 gauge silver wire. It looks much better and they are more clear that way. Cut them a little longer that 4 inches as listed on the directions. Really fast to make.

Pretty, Quickly Assembled, and Easy for Children That Count
I try to get together with my grandchildren every holiday season to make some new ornaments. This year I purchased this kit and the little snowmen. One granddaughter and I put some of them together over Thanksgiving. These are easily assembled if a child has good dexterity and can count. They are a quick project and bring a little extra shine to your tree. They would also make pretty gift tokens if tied to a bow, I think. The package is stated to make 30 icicles but some beads are imperfect or broken so I'm not certain if we'll be able to make that many. I have more grandkids that I hope can find time to assemble more of them with me. It would be nice if there was some ribbon or something to hang them with included. There is none so be prepared!

... but I quickly realized that the small beads were pretty tiny and kids that young would have a hard ...
I originally bought this to have 1st graders do as a project but I quickly realized that the small beads were pretty tiny and kids that young would have a hard time and be dropping them on the floor a lot so I decided to just keep them to do at home with my son. The package says that it makes 30 ornaments. I got several broken star shaped beads but they gave many extra beads to make up for the broken ones so I still have enough good ones to make 30 ornaments. The only thing I didn't like is that the pipe cleaners are not pre-cut so we have to measure and cut them all. The package says you need glue and tools to cut and bend the pipe cleaners but I don't have those tools and ended up using regular scissors to cut and I manually bent the pipe cleaners without any issue. Glue isn't totally necessary although it would make the beads more secure long-term.

just as much fun as i remember them from my childhood
these were just about as fun as i remember them being when i was a kid. my son and i put these together for our christmas tree, and we actually had fun with it. the pipe cleaners were just a hair on the short side, but they were generally long enough to get all the beads onto each cut. we even made some shorter and longer icicles too. instead of cutting 4" sections, we sometimes cut 6" sections and 3" sections as well, and increased or decreased the number of beads accordingly. make sure you have some pliers (needle nose work best) for cutting the pipe cleaners and making the hanging loops, and also some regular elmer's glue for securing the loops and the last bead on the bottom. this will help you kill a couple hours and get the kids in a crafty / holiday mood.

My 7 and 10 year old kids loved making these ornaments
My 7 and 10 year old kids loved making these ornaments. I set it up and they really enjoyed doing them. My Older son who does not like art stuff and wasn't going to make any decided he did once he saw his younger sister (who loves art) putting them together. I would recommend them to anyone with or without kids. I could see a kid with adult help doing it at age 5 even. The kit gives you the pipe cleaners to use, I think they give you more than you need, so you don't have to be so close on the 4" mark when cutting. At this length the last crystal is hard to go on. Also, start out with putting the string (hangers) on first then the first large star crystal to "anchor" it.

Easy To Make; Lovely To Look At
A young friend (8 years old) helped me make these to give to my kindergarten class. They were hung in the classroom window and looked lovely.

Good but incomplete.
Lovely simple design to make up, unfortunately half of the beads of one size was missing so I wasn't able to make them all up at once. The seller advised me to contact the manufacturer for replacement beads & I'm awaiting a response from them.
