Strong, Steel Re-enforced.
Nice exterior finish. Best Rubber End of canes I have seen. Only issue is that I have XL hands and the sheep's crook is to shallow and two small. I suspect made in Asia. Their Dimensions are not the same as American and European.

For the price this is a fantastic value. I was looking at some specialized canes that cost 10 times as much but wasn’t convinced I would actually like using a cane so I decided to give this a try. It came well packaged but with minimal product information - no details of where it was made or what type of wood. About the only significant detail that I can remember was that somewhere it listed 250 pounds as the weight limit. A lot of people give advice on how to remove the two stickers that come on the cane. I just scratched them off with my fingernails. The finish is tough and wasn’t damaged. And although there was a little residue, after about a week the exposure to some humidity allowed my to rub the sticky off. Length wise this cane is right about 36”. I think that is perfect for anyone about 6’ tall or shorter as it would be easy enough to remove the rubber tip, cut to length, and replace the tip if you need a shorter cane. A quick note on the tip. I looked it up the listed name, it is a NEV-A-SLIP rubber tip with a metal insert. I think that is where the confusion in the item description comes from the metal inset. The metal is in the rubber tip, not the wooden shaft. Also, although the cane is solid hardwood, it is not hickory. I did some carving on the cane and it appears to be some type poplar wood with an added hickory stain and light varnish. I’m just under 6’2” so it isn’t a perfect length for me, but as I stated earlier I just wanted to carry it around and see how I liked having an extra accessory. Additional, I ended up adding an inside horn cut as the hook was not wide enough to comfortably do the old Charlie Chaplin swing prior to the modification. Ultimately this cane has been a great companion on my daily hikes through some single track trails behind my neighborhood. I often swing it in front of me to clear out spiderwebs. Also I have run into some folks walking their dogs off leash and the old crotch sniffers instinctively give me more comfortable spacing. Eventually I will upgrade to an expensive oak or hickory cane but for now I am more than happy with this cane.

Sturdy enough but poorly finished
Seems sturdy enough—bought it for an elderly family member who wound up not needing it just yet—but the stain or whatnot used in finishing it rubs off too easily. Arrived with stickers on it that I removed, and in cleaning their residue off discovered that a little water—never mind rubbing alcohol—will bring it off.

Best cane I have
Was to make it the 'custom' length needed for this short old man. Very light weight and rugged. Does not have the 'click', 'clack' and 'clunk' of a metal cane. Can be adjusted to exact length needed, not just a 'close enough' setting. Got two of them.

A bargain compared to others of equal quality
I weigh 235lbs and this cane is plenty strong enough for me. The handle is a little small for my extra large hands but does allow a comfortable three finger grip. I am 5'9" and the length was sufficient enough that I had to cut off about two inches. The rubber end piece is good quality and provides good grip on most surfaces. My best guess would be that the wood is ash stained to appear like walnut. The finish seems thin and I don't expect it to last long but may result in a very nice patina. Overall a very good deal and quite a nice looking cane in my opinion.

The Cane Mutiny
An ageing pal of mine who tends to hobble around these days said he couldn't find a cane that he could hook over his forearm because they all have handles at a right angle to the shaft. And, he said, he wasn't having anything to do with metal canes, which make him think of old folks "homes" and hospitals and other unpleasant things. So, of course, I went on line and found him just what he was looking for in about two minutes. I wouldn't, myself, call this a "deluxe" cane. A Deluxe cane, in my view, is one that has a rapier hidden inside, or, at least, a flask for Napoleon Brandy. Still, this is a very fine looking cane. It's early days yet, but it looks as if it will last longer than my pal.

Great value cane
Great cane, only issue are the stickers used, such as the "Weight limit is 250 lbs", and the other sticker, they do not come off cleanly and leave residue, so prepare to peel.. unless I'm just inept with sticker removal. Otherwise great cane!

a good old fashioned cane
I bought this cane to replace my ergonomic one as the latter cannot be hooked onto anything and I spend more time picking it up off the floor than I care to think about...the umbrella hook in this cane is excellent for hooking onto the back of a chair etc. I bought the walnut version instead of the oak. Love it

I switched from a quad cane to this. Works great. Nice and solid, and the height was good with out modification. I recommend this product. Was $25 when I ordered.
