Very thin
This rod is good for light weight curtains but if you're looking to use this for blackout or heavier styles, get something else.

Disappointed
Received this half an hour ago and am frustrated. This product epitomizes why I did little online shopping until moving to a rural area made it necessary. I was very eager to get this product, as blackout curtains are now needed in our hallway due to graveyard shift work, and nothing else has worked to hold them up. However, upon opening the shipping box two things immediately frustrated me: 1) contrary to what the picture seemed, this is not an OVAL ROD at all, but a hollow U-shaped curtain rod, very flimsy and pliable (2) it comes not assembled, with no instructions inside the package whatsoever. Upon closer inspection, it seems there are picture instructions on one side of the cardboard that seals the plastic over wrap; however, a warehouse bar-code label was placed squarely over them and made them almost invisible but definitely unusable. I am not completely engineering-challenged, and can probably figure out how to put it together, but it will most likely NOT hold up two heavy blackout floor-to-ceiling curtains it was bought for, let alone stand up to frequent movement of those curtains from 3 dogs and a 6'4" man who all must pass through them anytime they are moving about the house. I understand one gets what they pay for, but in my experience a "spring tension rod" is a tube with a spring securely inside designed to hold up to frequent movement or curtains heavier than sheers, utilizing tension to negate the need for other hardware. This product's design has a spring approximately twice as thick as one found in a ballpoint pen, one screw and washer apparently designed to secure the spring at the position needed for length, an extra long lightweight curtain rod, and plastic end-caps that will likely break during attempted installation (since some experimentation is obviously going to be needed to get the screw and washer/spring in the exact right location and tension). I gave this 2 stars since it at least seems usable for other applications once assembly is accomplished... I am simply trying to be fair, even though my first impression was one star or less for the extreme disappointment I felt just looking at it.

Still does exactly what it is supposed to do, very well
12/23/20 The original is still working well, despite the cats (3 now) and my best efforts to destroy it. Last month the 18 lb cat got her feet tangled in the old lace curtains and couldn't get loose. The rod stayed put until I could get there and get her untangled. I'm back today to order another for the solid swag set I'm adding to my 'equinox' curtains. I originally bought this rod 4+ years ago to hang a lace curtain I need to block the glare from a south facing window during the winter when the sun is very low towards the horizon. This window is used by 2 cats and I for bird-watching and I didn't expect either the rod or the curtains (old ones I had on hand) to last long. Well, the combination is still there. The rod was a little fussy to adjust - definitely a case for reading the instructions. It has survived 2 large cats who want to go through the closed window to get at the squirrel on the outside sill. It has survived my clumsy pulling down and putting up to get the curtains washed with no need to readjust. It has survived a straight southern exposure and the tips are still solid and the fit secure. I came out here to buy another shorter one for use in a second window, and looking at the reviews decided to post my own positive one.

Not for heavy curtains at all
It is not sturdy enough to hold curtains that are the same size as the rod. It keeps falling no matter how tight it is assembled.

Yes, I thought it would be bigger
Definitely doesn't look like the picture , I guess I thought it would be thicker like a shower rod

You get what you paid for!
I needed some curtain rods to hang a curtain over some string lights I put up in my room. Their cheap price stood out to be so I immediately clicked!!! The package arrived very quickly, maybe even in 2 day! I was very impressed, but as soon as I opened the box, I knew where my mistake had been. BEWARE, maybe I'm the only idiot out there who read past this important detail, but these are tension rods, meaning they need pressure to be hung. This means I cannot hang them on my wall. When I went to return them, the price for returning them was more expensive than the actual product. This is not why I am giving it 4 stars...Although I didn't even open the plastic packaging to view the rods, I could tell they were cheaply made. The whole inside of the rod is exposed on one side of them, so beware if you are going for a cute clean aesthetic, these are not the rods for you!

Exactly as needed - highly recommend!
I hadn't used one of these spring tension curtain rods before, but wanted to install a bit of privacy on my porch without drilling into the aluminum/screen enclosure. This fit the job perfectly and I'm sure I'll be ordering more! I used a Phillips screwdriver to lightly loosen the screw, then held the rod up so there was about a 1/4" overhang (in other words, the rod was about 1/4" longer than the opening). At that point, I tightened the screw (really power down on it or it might slip like mine did the first time!). With some concentrated effort, I got the rod in place and I have no doubts that it will stay in place. The rubber feet protect the surface from any marring or scratching. I'm really impressed with this product at this price and I'll definitely recommend them to anyone in the market for a curtain rod AND who doesn't want to mar their walls or window surrounds. Shipping was fast and the rod shipped in a long cardboard box for even more protection. Great product!

Wasteful packaging. Only one rod.
I thought they were sold in a 2 pack. Not. The tiny rod came in a box the size of a single mattress! Very wasteful. You covered the instructions with a sticker that can't be removed to see how to adjust the size

Exactly what we needed, excellent quality!
Excellent quality, easy to use and stays in place. Shipping was quick. Exactly what we needed for our windows, not easy to find this size in the local stores. Great buy!

Far too flimsy to be a tension rod; just bends
This was a waste of money and unfortunately I waited too long and now I can't return it. It is impossible to put up. It's so flimsy that when it is extended (my window is about 68" wide) and a little tension is applied it just bends, and you straighten it and it bends again. A shorter one *might* be useful for something like tiny sheers for a small window, but when you extend the longer one it is useless.
