and it looks like a lot of other people purchased it for the ...
I ordered this spring tension rod to put under my sink to hang all of my spray bottles on (great space saving idea that I found online, and it looks like a lot of other people purchased it for the same purpose!). When it arrived I was very excited to finally organize my under sink cabinets and I took out all of the spray bottles, only to realize that the tension rod was completely bent although the shipping box that it came in was in perfect condition. I'm thinking that that means that it was already bent when it was shipped to me. I tried unbending it but it was bent beyond repair and even after I straightened it out as much as possible, I still could not adjust the rod in any way. Luckily amazon has great customer service and shipped me out a replacement right away. I've been on a mission to de-clutter my whole apartment and this replacement tension rod worked perfectly for my plan. After my first attempt everything seemed fine but when I checked back the next day, the rod and everything on it had fallen, but I realized that one of the bottles that was hung on the rod was very big and very full. I placed the rod again and put all of the spray bottles back except for that one very heavy one and now over a week later the rod and spray bottles are still holding on strong. That and the addition of contact paper and organizing baskets have actually made the former problem area look really nice!

Pretty good rod for light-duty work
This rod is a bit lighter than I was hoping for, but at 7/16" I guess I should have known that is was kind of on the thin side. It seems like a good rod, is pretty strong, but I'm not too confident that it will hold up my thermal blackout curtains for too long. We'll see. I'm looking for a heavier duty/thick tension rod but I'm extremely cheap, lol, so I watch the prices a lot before I buy. The reason I'm using tension rods, by the way, is that I'm about to paint the window frames, etc., and I don't want to have to patch more holes from curtain rods. So, a good rod, pretty strong, but I'm still on the hunt for heftier rods.

Easy to install but droops
I have 2 windows that are about 40” wide, near the max for this rod. I installed two, very easy, and hung super lightweight short sheer blinds (seriously a few ounces!) and one window has held up great (about 2 months now) but the other is dropping in the middle. I’ve tried messing with it - doesn’t seem to want to straighten. If you have a narrower window, these are probably great. But if you’re near the max, maybe look elsewhere.

Using to hold cleaning sprays
I know this is an off label use, but I am trying to use them as a rod to hold my cleaning bottles which is a tip I've seen online many times. At first it was a tad too much weight and the rod kept falling, no matter how much I tightened it. I ended up over-tightening it and quickly sealing the part where the inner and outer pieces of the rod meets with my Bondic. So far, its holding up great. When I was having issues, I tried looking at the package to see what the max weight is, but on the ones I received all the writing is in Spanish and I don't see anything that looks like a weight. Luckily the pictures are pretty explanatory, because I couldn't read the specs on the package.

The tension isn't strong enough to hold things up!
The tension isn't strong enough to hold things up! I thought it was for a closet, to hang clothes on, but it's way too flimsy for that. I think it's for windows, to hang a curtain on. My mistake! It works by twisting the inner rod like a screw top, and it grows longer or shorter this way. Doesn't provide very strong tension, so while it could probably stay up and hold up a light curtain for a kitchen, attic, or bathroom window, etc, it wouldn't hold up a pair of pants on a hanger, much less a winter coat on a hanger, and that's what I got it for anyway. (Might not hold up heavy curtains, either.) It's also very thin (compared to what I was expecting). If I really wanted to, I could very likely bend it in half. I do like that the white caps are soft, so it wouldn't mark up a wall, but it doesn't look very strong, over all. But, maybe it's not supposed to be strong. Maybe this is just for a quick-fix for folks who want to put up a simple curtain in the bathroom or something, and they can't nail a curtain rod in for some reason. Well, I'm returning it (if I can figure out how to do it!). If I had gotten it for a window, I probably would give it a higher mark since it apparently (judging by past reviews) that's what it's for (I should have read the reviews - I only looked at how many stars it had!). For some reason, when I did a search for 'closet rods', this thing came up. Weird.

Great Value, Easy to Use!
I have an open area underneath the bathroom sink and it's where I keep the litterbox for the kitty. I've been working on making my bathroom look really nice and coordinated and the litterbox is starting to stick out like a sore thumb. To remedy this, I thought about hanging a small curtain or cloth in the area, but first I would need a rod. This rod is exactly what I needed. It's easy to use (you just twist until it's the right length), arrived quickly and in perfect condition, and it's an easy color to coordinate with anything. It's a fairly sturdy rod as well. I wouldn't try hanging cinder blocks from it, but it can hold enough weight for it's intended purposes. It's not very expensive either, which is a major plus to me. If you're looking for a quick solution rod, this is a good value for the cost.

Very Light Weight
These rods are very slender and light weight. There are perfect for what I needed but are much thinner and flimsier than I expected, although they do provide the sizing - 7/16". For perspective, this is thinner than a hot-dog, and there is a seam down the middle of the tube/rod. These work nicely for light weight or sheer panels but would not be ideal for a heavy weight drape or curtain. They are easy to use, just unscrew the same way you would a tension shower rod, and voila. It took me all of 10 minutes to hang panels in two windows.
