Shouldn't just come with circle track but I understand it's a "beginner" set

This would be great if it came with more track and had at least 2 straight track included.

Great Product forthe price

Wow, 15 minutes from receiving the Prime box to rolling stock. This is one product that did not disappoint. I just followed a few videos on YouTube before I received the train and it was like a no-brainer to assemble. This one will go around my little miniature Christmas tree as my wife and I are downsizing the holiday. Both kids are grown and gone so no need for a big tree just a train and a miniature tree. Thanks, Bachmann and Amazon.

Great price and good operation

After seeing such mixed reviews, I knew this purchase was a bit of a gamble. However, I did not own any trains this small, and I have had good experiences with this brand before (Bachman) so I decided to purchase this product. I am glad I made this decision. The train easily fits on almost any table (except one that is extremely small) and the train is even so small it would fit on a bookshelf. If you only make the circle it comes with, it fits in a pizza box! Great train for people with limited space. The train seems to operate extremely well and is very realistic. I bought extra track with it, as the circle would have gotten boring. I recommend the Bachman 10 inch easy track that can be found on amazon. You can get 6 for under 15 dollars. This is a great addition to the set. Keep in mind, if you want to make an oval, the set alone DOES NOT come with enough curves. So, to make an oval, you would need at least one more curved piece and at least two straight pieces. Great holiday decoration for a table etc, but a bit small to go around a tree, I’d recommend HO scale for that application. Overall. Great product. Never falls off track and has no problem operating at slow speeds, contrary to many reviews. The train is fragile, but all model trains are. Extremely easy to set up track and run product. Anyone can do it once they know how to put the train on track (line up wheels) and put the track together. NOTE: the clips on the tracks must match up, otherwise connection will be weak and the train may not run. So, make sure that the track is FULLY together before operation. A video in the product description shows you how to make sure. Highly recommend watching it. There may be some defects in these sets, but I have experienced no issues. Definitely recommend great set easy to operate and assemble track

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!

Due to my experience with this seller, I highly advise to NOT purchase any product from this seller. I ordered this train for my grandsons birthday and when I opened the box and out the track together and put the engine on the teack. There was no power from the engine or tack. It would not even spark to run. It was defective and the seller will not refund so that I can purchase a working product. In fact the seller was extremely rude and accused my grandson of breaking the train and being too young to own the train and I, not my grandson was the only person that touched the train before realizing it did not even work. The seller has accused me of lying and refuses to refund and told me to ask the manufacturer for a refund instead. His final remarks to me was that I owe him for wasting his time. Also the sellers advertisement was not true, the train was stated to have smoking oil for the train to smoke which is one of the main reasons I chose this train, and it did not come with any smoking oil or state that it would smoke Buyers beware of this seller. I have bought on Amazon for years and have never had a problem with a seller.

An acceptable train set.

I consider this merely an adequate train set. I purchased it to get an idea of the size of N scale locomotives and rolling stock, and I was debating between building an HO or N scale layout, and I've always used HO in the past. For that purpose, this set certainly satisfied my yearning to size up N scale. The set comes packaged very neatly, and the power pack is quite clever compared with the HO sets I grew up with. It uses an external power pack "wall wart" that plugs into the throttle. While this would be useless for a layout, it is a great match for a portable train set like this, and it is important to keep in mind that this is a toy, really. The throttle unit has accessory connections, and plugs into a rerailer/power track via a flat connector. The connector is prone to coming loose without provocation. If you have power issues, check this connection. I've had this style of connector in the past on HO sets for Christmas tree use, and they exhibited similar issues, so this is not isolated to this set. The locomotive is a cute 0-6-0 locomotive, with reasonably good front and side detail. Despite the complaints of one reviewer as to the lack of wheels under the cab...an 0-6-0 should not have wheels there, and this is accurate to the prototype. The headlamp is not lighted. The motor sticks out the back of the cap, leaving an unsightly metal bulge. Really distracts from the otherwise decent realism. The tender is wired for power on the front wheel set, helping to avoid stalls. The locomotive runs reasonably well, and I was able to get it to climb mild inclines with all three cars and a few coins. Low speed operation is mixed...it doesn't start well, but it will run at low speed reasonably well if you decrease speed gradually. The cars consist of a boxcar (door does not open), gondola, and caboose. The detail on the cars is acceptable, other than the fixed boxcar door. The cars run a little noisy, although I suspect the EZ track might be partially to blame. It snapped together reasonably well, only one do-over was required. A circle is a little boring, so ideally they should update this to a slightly larger oval. In summary...a decent toy with a few minor flaws. Those flaws are excusable at this excellent price.

This track is poorly made. When the train goes fast over the connecting piece it derails 4/5 times.
