Nice engine

For the money, this engine is more than adequate for a small to moderate layout. The engine does not have the detail of similar type engines of more expensive manufacturers that could cost twice as much but Bachmann does a good job recreating the the engine. After reprogramming the DCC "address", the engine runs flawlessly. I have many Bachmann engines of which I'm very pleased and this one is no exception. Most recommended!!!

arrived in a timely manner, open the package and the rear wheel set stayed in the package. No way they didn't see this in the factory. Ended up just fixing it myself and the engine works fine so whatever

Be sure you read every word on descriptions. I'm new to HO trains having built powered boats for 60+ years. Bought a starter Bachmann set which was fun. As normally happens it wasn't long before I wanted to expand. Ultimately bought this Santa Fe engine and a Bachmann EZ Command controller for $200. This engine is advertised as being DCC equipped which I assumed meant it had all the bells and whistles. Wrong. No sound. All it does is go around in circles just like it did with the original controller that came with the starter set. Very disappointing. :( Other than that problem it seems to run fine and has a lot of power.

Powerful locomotive

This is the best locomotive I have purchased. Good looking and pulls the 15 cars with a track cleaning car added with no problem.
