The turnouts are great but the only problem with them is that they should be 15 degrees not 14 degrees so that you can nave smoother connections with their curved track and not have to fiddle with the track to get parallel trcack with sidings.

I really don't have any idea why it seems to short out. Had to put a jumper wire to correct the problem. One had track not level so I used a very Mild file to equalize it.

Beware if you re using Bachmann black roadbed track !!

For some reason the black roadbed and gray roadbed turnouts are different. Almost seems like a design error that was too late to correct. On the black the turnout side track is curved and the bed extends about 2" past the crotch. On the gray the track is straight and ends right at the crotch. They realized you can't connect another piece of track to it because the bed edges hit each other. To cover the problem they include a short track section with a seam you can wiggle off to make it fit. I have a small layout and wanted to just make a loop off the main track with two turnouts. No configuration of curved, straight track will make it connect properly. Just misses by 2" no matter what. Another short piece is too long. I've tried every which way. Have ordered a black bed turnout. :(

when joining the tracks to the #4 turnout the joining tracks didn't fit because there was no knock to fit the joining track into! so that the turnout and track leading into it would fit as on the regular turnout.
