Bachmann Extension Wire

Well packaged, I thought that the wire was coiled a little too tightly, connectors are designed to not loosen up, but can be tough to plug in. Overall: no problems.

A small glitch, but easily fixed

I bought four of these, 1 had the wires crossed at one end so we couldn’t get it to work properly. It was a SUPER easy return, I usually don’t deal with returns because I hate the hassle. This was a gift opened on Christmas Eve, by the 28th, I had the replacement. They worked well, a bit of a snug fit so it took some strength and patience to connect with the track wiring. Once done, it worked like a charm. My dad has only been dealing with train sets for about 18 months or so, we figured out how this worked through YouTube and found the cord easily on Amazon. Now that it’s all wired properly we have one central control point that handles all 4 switches and both tracks.

Does the job but requires a lot of force to connect

I got this item to connect the switch controller box to my track switch that was too far away for the standard line. The length is good, but it is not easy to connect and required a LOT of force and almost felt like i was going to break the piece connecting them. It didn't break thankfully, and works great.

Ridiculous price for some wire and connections that a very poor!

While I understand that this Bachmann Ready Track is designed for beginners or folks who can’t or won’t lay their own track, this is just crazy over priced and not well designed either. No matter how little of this extension wire you need, you have to buy a whole bundle of wire since cutting and splicing these tiny wires is hardly a beginner task! To add insult to injury, the connectors are so poorly designed that they leave the joint between open and the metal terminals open! If they touch or brush against anything metal or conductive, you will get a dead short. They will quickly destroy a turnout motor maybe before you realize what has happened. NOT recommend. In fact, none of this Bachmann track system is worth the high cost despite the so called convenience.

Very useful

Rather pricey and way too long for my table. However, I have been cutting pieces out of it as needed to to splice into too-short wires from some switches to controllers, so this product does have good and useful application for me.
