No more Mess!
We have a number of power outages where we live and we need extension cords that we can quickly and easily plug into our generator to keep our lives a bit more sane during these times. I have purchased several extension cords in the past, but this is the best one hands down. First - you can easily unwind and wind it up on it's sturdy base - Second - The handle makes it easy to pick up and place where it is needed. Third - The built in six receptacles makes it easy to connect whatever you need to power. Fourth - It has a built in 15 AMP circuit breaker which is a absolutely needed to protect your tech products - Fifth - It is rated 12 gage - which means SAFETY. Most extension cords that are less costly are rate at 14 0r 16 gage. I purposely put these product points in reverse order. Safety should always be the first and most important attribute of any product. I highly recommend this product.

Powah!
I would've loved to have given this 5-stars, but there are some glaring design issues that kept that last star from being yellow. I do like the mostly metal construction. I'm hard on stuff out in the garage and yard and it seems like this will hold up. I had a somewhat similar plastic version of this that outlets started failing on and the plastic cracked. I also like that it stands upright. Last one laid on the floor. The lighted plug AND switch is nice. It helps to narrow down where a no-power issue is. I have two problems with this. The first is the knob to wind the cord back up. It's way too small and it should spin to make the whole process easier. It's a minor thing, but one I believe is going to bother me more in the future. The second is what a few others have stated. The reel just free wheels. There's no friction to keep it from just unwinding non-stop. The reel needs something to cure this. I've thought about putting something on the upright of the handle to hit against the open holes of the reel--kind of like a Wheel of Fortune type thing. I just haven't gotten to figuring out what that something is. All in all, it's a decent reel and one which you'll be happy with for the most part.

Great Price for a fantastic 12/3 extension cord reel. Would recommend and purchase again. This is from a homeowners perspective...not a heavy user like a contractor. UPDATED REVIEW. Unless you have a particularly strong need for this style, take a pass and just buy a 50ft tripple end tap regular extension cord. While in use, this always gets tipped over and dragged around. Not to mention the time spend to carefully wind it back up(awkward) like you found it - acts like too much line on a fishing reel. A larger reel would work better. For me, stretching out a tripple tap extension cord and being able to quickly rewind it trumps fussing around with this(Though I lose the circuit breaker benefit) ****Notice I am NOT downgrading the stars. If this is what you want, it is nice.

Seems solid, but need to use and validate
Bought this since my old cord station broke after many years. Have only used it once, but bought it since it has the 12/3 wire and can handle more amps at one time. My old one was a 14/3 and blew the breaker if you plugged two things in at once. Hoping this one will do much better. If I have any issues, will update this review with that info. Appears to be made well, but time and use will tell.

Great way to power multiple tools
I use this all the time for various projects. All of my lawn equipment is electric, either corded or battery powered, so having 6 plugs capable of carrying 20amps saves time and headaches. I can plug in lawnmower, trimmer, blower, battery charging packs, etc. The same can be said for power tools, mitre saws, air compressors, drills, grinders, etc., all can be plugged in at one time. NOTE: I still use extension cords to power some of the tools and lawn equipment, so this won't get rid of all extension cords, it just makes things easier to use. Very portable and easy to unwind and rewind. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

very great value purchase
product was delivered unwound and tangled on the spool for a certain length( about 10 feet ) though it was a easy fix to respool the length back on the roll, it could have been shipment bounce that loosened the wire, regardless my dad and I respooled the wire back on spool with no problem, its totally worth the money for any DIY person or contractor

A little pricey at face value, but a great deal when comparing it against a single 12/3 cable of the same length that doesn't come with the reel. I was surprised to find that the cord even has a lighted plug. Very good quality cable, very sturdy wheel, and the reel rolls up the cable super quickly. I use it my condo parking garage where the electrical outlet is several parking spots away from mine. Like another reviewer mentioned, the reel spins very freely... so much that when you are reeling the cable, and stop, the reel keeps spinning and can quickly loosen the remaining cord on the reel. It's a bit of a pain, but I have an idea to put some sort of mini-bungee or hook from the handle through one of the reel holes to act as a "reel stop / lock" to help with this issue.

Je l'ai acheté pour mon atelier de réparation pour appareils et j'adore le le disjoncteur 15 ampères à empêche le breaker du panneau électrique de disjoncter lors d'une surchargecar il est dans une autre pièce assez loin.

Good cost good usability
Works great no issues used to power 3 higher consumption laptops and a router for internet then a usb multi charger 14/3 gauge wire should be able to handle at least 15 amps! Feels good lil odd balance but overall very happy
