Don't buy. Needs to be banned in California!
After reading the numerous negative reviews of the less expensive Poolmaster head and mostly positive reviews of this one, I decided to purchase this one. Big mistake! (No. 1) If you read the other reviews, you will see complaints about poor performance due to the wheel height. That's not the problem and this one has the same issue! I compared the bottom of this vacuum head with my previous one that actually worked well, but had worn out wheels and a broken handle. On the Poolmaster, the inside "fins" that channel the flow of water and debris into the center are barely present. On the other one, the fins are the same height as the outer ribs that go along the front and back of the head. It's the essential lack of these fins that results in the poor performance of the Poolmaster. So why do I say it should be banned California? The design of this head results in only about a 3 to 4 inch swath. That may be OK if you have lots of time and are vacuuming into your filter, but there are occasions I find it necessary to vacuum to waste. Obviously, vacuuming a 3 to 4 inch swath requires more passes and takes more time, but when you are vacuuming to waste, those extra passes are removing more water from your pool. That's not good in drought stricken California. I actually bought this head because my old one would get stuck against the bottom of the pool due to suction. I figured having higher wheels would solve the problem. When I discovered the real reason for the poor performance of the Palmister, I decided not to return it, but instead use it to refurbish my old unit. (Mistake No. 2.) A new set of wheels and a new handle would cost about the same as the entire Poolmaster head. Had this turned out to be a good choice, I would have awarded it three stars and labeled the review: "Good for parts". The problem is the wheels are of extremely low quality. After just three uses they are already showing signs of wear and discoloration/aging of the plastic. I always rinse off pool equipment and newer equipment including this Poolmaster are kept indoors away from the elements, so this was totally unexpected. The saving grace could have been the handle attachment, because it is metal and all of the replacement handles available locally are plastic. Unfortunately, my old unit has a spring that helps keep the head firmly up against the bottom of the pool and the bolt that holds this metal handle to the unit is too short to include the spring. I opted to use the handle and remove the spring because I noticed the newer plastic replacement handles have shorter attachment pins that also won't accommodate the spring. For those of you who have the Poolmaster and are beyond the return window, I offer the following: When I moved the wheels onto my old unit, I noticed the hubs that hold the wheel in place have two pins that keep the hubs from turning. It's these pins that also lower the wheels and make the vacuum head too high. It is possible to lower the wheels by cutting of one of the pins so the wheel can sit higher up in the slot, thereby lowering the head. Keep in mind, doing so will probably make it impossible to get any remedy from Poolmaster. Furthermore, I doubt this will significantly improve the performance, but if anyone out there cares to try it you can write a comment letting others know the wheel height is also an issue. Addendum: Before buying anything, it's a good idea to check the manufacturer's website to get a better idea of what you are actually purchasing. (MIstake No. 3) I just checked Poolmaster's website to see if there were any reviews on their site. It turns out the only difference between the model 27201 and the less costly 27200 is the packaging. In short, I paid more for the same inferior product.

Not a fan.
It's okay. But not really "good" and definitely not great! The first thing I noticed when I opened the package is 2 small holes in the vacuum head. I figured these would reduce the suction below the head because it would have these 2 holes to pull water through. So I filled them. The second thing I noticed was how high this thing is. There's a lot of space between the bottom of the head and the surface of the pool. Some may think that's a great thing for getting the bigger leaves up. If you are looking for something to clean leaves, YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE WRONG TOOL! If you are cleaning leaves get a leaf tool. They go by many names: Leaf Eater, LeafMaster, LeafBagger, etc. The more space between the bottom of the head and the surface of the pool, the less suction there is for removing what this tool is meant for: DIRT! It will do the job but it takes more time. I suppose that's fine if you have no job and all the time in the world, but that's not me! So, I had to modify the wheel assembly a little bit to give me less space under there. I'd hate to know what it would have been like without modifications because the suction is pretty bad where it was amazing with the last head I had which was just worn out. The third thing I noticed wasn't until I had it in the water. This thing is LIGHT! That's not a good thing. With it being so light and with so little suction, there wasn't much keeping this thing on the bottom of the pool. If I moved a little too fast I'd find it popping a wheelie. So, back to those 2 little holes in the head that I had to fill. Looks like they have another version of this tool with 2 more weights on it. Those holes are for the screws that hold 2 more weights on. It needs that weight. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't mind modifying his tools a little bit to make them more effective. But when they still aren't very effective after modifications...look elsewhere.

keep your old vac head for a parts car
The other comments are accurate. I bought for the aluminum handle connection and width - both positive and as expected. It does ride high compared to my original, so less suction / slower movement for pick up time - will likely modify by swapping wheels (smaller on original) or altering slots. It also is a little light if you have a deep pool / use long pole extension (I'm 9'). I moved two weights from my old vac head into the two open slots. Message… keep your old vac head for a parts car!

Great Work Saver!
This is our first rolling pool brush and man why did we wait so long! Right out of the box I had to weight down our old brush to keep it on the floor of the pool when I was pushing or pulling. Then if I went to deep or extended it to far I couldn't push or pull it without bending the pole. Now those problems are no more. To be honest I was a little concerned that the rollers might be too high (based upon other reviews) but this cleaner head picks up dirt and leaves with no problem. What use to take half an hour or more to clean the entire pool now takes about 15 minutes.

bought for quick clean up. didn't want to spend the 350 for an automatic sweeper. Tried a few times - it worked but had to use elbow grease so decided to buy an automatic sweeper. no complains with the product. tough, works but I would advice the lazy person like me to spend the money and buy a good automatic sweeper.

good quality - no brush
Its a good solid quality device, however, I didn't realize that it did not have a brush on the bottom. So its good for getting larger things off the bottom, but can not get rid of fine "baked on" dirt (like when you're first opening your pool). If you're not expecting a brush, then its a great vacuum.

New Vacuum gets the jobs done.
I wish it had a brush for scrubbing at spots on the bottom while vacuuming. The hose attachment is not the right size for my current hose so I had to duct tape it. It is functional now though. Easy to use. Like the metal pole attachment.
