Excellent Portable Vacuum

I have a Aerus Lux upright that is a fantastic vacuum. Unfortunately, it weighs a ton and you have to haul an accessory caddy along with it. It is a pain to haul it out for that little job. I am always struggling to get ceilings and corners because I have to constantly move and reposition the vacuum to clean. Then there is the fear of pulling it over trying to reach a corner. My parents and brother have been using battery powered vacuums for a while and they love them. My concern was the batteries. I didn't want to trash the unit if the battery went bad nor did I want to have to hunt down and buy a replacement battery that costs as much as the unit itself. I thought it would be great if the unit used the Dewalt batteries I had for a drill I got as a Christmas present and here it is. This vacuum is great. It it extremely high quality and very durable. It's light and portable. It's always ready to go for that little job. It makes cleaning ceilings and corners a breeze. It has excellent suction for it's size. As I mentioned, it uses a standardized battery pack that is easy to find and can be used for other things. It also has a bright LED to illuminate what you are cleaning. The included accessories let's you do almost anything with the exception of carpets. This is either a plus or minus as units like these do only a basic job at vacuuming carpets when they can, while heavily diminishing battery life using a powered carpet attachment. All in all, it is definitely great for around the house and it is just what I was looking for. The drawback to this vacuum is that it is optimized for shop use. It lacks the ability for powered attachments if that is a must have. It also lacks a flashy status panel that lets you see the battery life and adjust the suction to maximize battery life. Fortunately, the batteries do have status lights built into them. The unit also does not come with a battery or charger which adds to the overall cost to getting started, unless you already have them, which may put some people off because they are not cheap. The battery life is highly dependent on the batteries you have. My 1.5Ah batteries last under 10 minutes. The 5Ah batteries supposedly last over 20 minutes. I just purchased one on sale and I would say that is accurate. There are also much larger batteries available. This vacuum is definitely one to take a look at. It's light, powerful and extremely well built. It uses easy to find DeWalt batteries. Definitely a must have if you already have batteries and a charger.

THIS IS THE ONE for an RV!

If you own and RV you need this! Compact, plenty of attachments for getting back into drawers, cabinets, storage compartments and crevices. Works great on carpet and it's super easy to service. One 5AH battery is really all that is needed for a post camping trip clean up and did I mention it's super ergonomic and easy to store. Very easy to service and clean. The filter is removable and replaceable but as a dry vac this filter will last a long time if you pull it out on occasion and bang out the crud. LOVE THIS LITTLE VACUUM! NOT a wet vac so if you need something for spills this is not the unit for you.

Powerful enough, well made.

I needed a small, quick, and handy portable vac for my home and cars. This does nicely. It has enough suction and a nice set of attachments. A 4-5 AH battery lasts plenty long for several quick cleanups. I could also use a similar vac for my shop, but I know better than to use a HEPA filter on sawdust because it will clog in 30 seconds. There are some washable aftermarket filters for this, and maybe some are not excessively fine. Likes: Powerful enough Good ergonomics Heavy, high-strength ABS plastic construction Great selection of attachments that are rugged and well-designed Battery life is good Inexpensive, washable aftermarket filters are available. (not DeWalt) Bin well-designed, rugged, large enough, and quick and easy to empty. Meh: Switch is located perfectly, but should be a heavy rocker, not a slide Filter is large enough to prevent instant clogging Not excessively shrill or loud A little expensive for this type of vac Dislikes: Filter is not washable Filter is HEPA, which makes no sense for this type of vac. OEM filters are expensive (but aftermarket filters are available!)

GREAT QUALITY TOOL BATTERY VAC/w ATTACHMENTS

I was expecting a extra large heavyweight shop type vac. Instead it’s the total opposite. Lightweight balanced really well, even with the heavy battery. Excellent power for everyday materials and household dust. I wouldn’t vacuum screws or any metal pieces. Keep a replacement filter around, just in case. Dewalt outdid itself with this one. It’s only drawback is the price. However I think its worth the money! Can’t beat a tool battery powered vacuum. Oh, you also get a mesh bag with every attachment including a high quality rubber hose, crevice tool, one extension pole and three different floor attachments. I’m very impressed with how much power it has. Great new Dewalt product. I will update if anything changes.

Good little vacuum.

Great little vacuum I use it a lot at work, and I have very few complaints. The attachments work well except the flexible hose could be a little longer. I was trying to vacuum some sheetrock while I was cutting it overhead to keep the dust from getting everywhere. Even with the extension, I managed to pull the belt clip off my belt and it felt to the ground from an elevation of about 5 feet. Didn't break though so I'd say it's pretty tuff. The only other complaint is that the filter can plug up pretty quickly, but what can you expect with a vacuum this small. If you need to do bigger jobs, get a shop vac.

Best Dewalt vacuum yet, but not perfect

Works great, has great accessories and functionality suction is great when filter is clean. Dirst holding area is too small and allows dirt to get sucked into the filter too easily. The holding area is easy to empty and the filter is easy to clean so it's not the end of the world. It's also a bit louder than it needs to be, I feel dewalt could have made it quieter with a little extra effort. Last complaint, batteries don't last. It has good suction and that seems to come with a price. I've listed a lot of negatives, but they aren't deal breakers, I 100% would buy again!

Great value if you already use Dewalt cordless tool

I bought this primarily to do detailing of my vehicle and to avoid having to lug the shop vac around while doing so, I will say the suction is impressive for such a small vacuum. The amount of attachments that come with the vacuum covers more than I require for detailing which is always nice. The weight and noise are not really factors I cared about, but it isn't very loud and even with 5AH batteries it isn't too heavy to carry around for a while. The battery life had me concerned slightly reading other reviews, I was pleased that I used roughly 1/3 of a fully charged 5AH battery doing my entire cars carpet and seats.

Very good vacuum

Wish the batteries lasted longer. Wish the Hepa filter was easier to clean. Does not come with a battery. But over all performance was good. Suction was strong

Very powerful, the only downside is it's quite bulky but was well aware of the sizing issue prior to purchase. I have a couple 5ah batteries so works well rotating them.
