Etched Leaf Window Film Review - Comes with a Squeegee but you really do not need one
I got this for my bathroom window to let light in and yet have privacy. It was super easy to work with. I thought it would be a lot harder. My window was about 18" wide by 36" tall. I measured and cut the film with the backing on. I allowed a smidge extra so I would not have it to small. I figured I could trim it if necessary. On my window I was able to just leave the extra like 1/16" without an issue. The directions say to use a squeegee so I bought one with my order, but be aware that it comes with one so do not buy one. Also I found that using a wet wash cloth actually works way better than the squeegee. Honestly do not bother with a squeegee. I did apply it to a wet window first but felt it was hard to get it to lay flat. I ended up wiping the water off the window and reapplying it. It might have been damp but was not as wet. I felt that the plastic is thick enough and clingie enough that it will stick if your window is clean even if it's dry. I used a damp wash cloth to smooth it out from the center working out and this worked great. It's easy to re-position if you need to. I really love that this is not permanent. Just peel it off and it leaves no residue or anything. You could even re-use it if you wanted to. I love the leaf pattern. It is nice looking without being overly decorative. Plus the way the pattern is drawn you can put it on the window in any position and it will look fine. I am thinking about doing some of my other bathroom windows with this film. I probably would not put it on the front of my house but think it's fine for the back or side. It would also look great for side lights on a front door or a small window over a door. Thanks for reading my review Becky Brooks *I paid full price for this item.

Privacy with light, IIRC
My husband installed two or three of these in the kitchen windows in our last house. I think it may have been less than a year afterward that we moved out, so I can't speak to its durability (though I went back many months later to pack up some things and I don't remember noticing any problems with it). It served the purpose, which was to add privacy without blocking too much light. Our house was in a PUD, very close to those of our neighbors, and there were often people passing very close to our kitchen window. After putting this up, we could still tell when people walked by, but we no longer felt the need to wave awkwardly through the window. Before this film, we had some homemade curtains up. Most of the curtain was made up of pale yellow cotton gauze (possibly called "bubble gauze" or "crinkle gauze," not sure), which is translucent. Nonetheless, if I remember correctly, the kitchen was brighter after we replaced the curtains with this film. I won't swear to it, but I think so. I'm pretty sure that these films did not reach all the way to the edges of the windows, at least not horizontally. I think my husband just did his best to center them, and it looked OK, IMO. Then again, our neighbor had done something similar, so maybe I was just used to the effect ;). He probably put them up fairly carefully, and likely followed any instructions. I don't think there was much trouble with bubbles. There might have a been a few at first that he was able to smooth away. If any remained after that, they weren't noticeable. We had put this off for far too long, partly because we couldn't decide which pattern to get, IIRC. I think we picked a good one.

Beautiful Problem Solver - nice Material
I put this in my second story bathroom that faces the street. I used it in the bottom half of a double hung window, left the top window clear, so now I have a nice view of the trees, but no ugly street view, and no worries about people seeing in to the bathroom. I still think at night it needs the shade pulled down, but it is perfect for daytime. This is really lovely, super easy to put up and looks fantastic. I am really bad at measuring and cutting, so that was the only headache- six panes to match up. I accidentally cut one the wrong direction, and my son noticed that the lines were going the opposite way in one pane. No one else noticed at all, but just to warn you to cut all out in the same direction if fitting into multiple panes. I would also cut it closer to the actual window size than they recommend since there is a slight gap. Not sure why they recommend that. I used a metal ruler with a square built in (?) and an exacto knife. Cut slowly to keep a straight line. I didn't have a squirt bottle so just filled a bowl with soapy water and rubbed that onto the window with my hand. Worked fine. Also, I put this up during the day, and didn't notice any bubbles at all, but they were visible at night. So maybe it would help to put up when it is darker outside? Not sure. This is a great solution to poorly placed windows. I am not sure if there would be an off gassing smell if in a window that gets direct sunlight. I didn't notice a smell though, but window doesn't get direct sun.

Worth the investment - just measure carefully 1st
I love the design, it’s simple but elegant. If you follow the directions installation is easy. I guess I mismeasured, thought it would cover both panes, but it only covers one. It’s an investment, but worth it. I will order more. I also did cut it in half and original placed it in the middle of both panes, but then removed them and used it for one pane as in the photo. They are definitely easy to remove and reuse!!

Looks fabulous
This product was really easy to fit and looks great - not in the least like a window film at all. I brought this to obscure an ugly conservatory roof in a neighbours garden and it really works, without cutting out any light. It is a great design and makes the window/doors look very attractive. Highly recommended.

Awesome
Ordered it for a bigger window that was to big for this one but installed it on a different smaller window and we love it. Looks great and creates privacy just like we wanted.
