I helped my neighbor order his new 'rice cooker'. That was largely based upon my experience using my 'rice cooker' to steam veggies. I was never satisfied throwing the broccoli into the skillet next to my chicken breast. Since I and my neighbor are both diabetics, discovering how great the broccoli and cauliflower are when steamed in the rice cooker was a big event. If you are not a diabetic, you may not understand such excitement. I pray that you never will be. Eating food that is low in the glycemic index is crucial to us. Being able to prepare a meal quickly that tastes great is a real blessing. The best part of steaming the vegetables is that they will stay hot in the cooker until you can get the other dishes prepared. That has been a very big plus for me. Nobody likes cold veggies. My neighbor feels the same way. I picked one out for him but it turns out that mine is an 8 cup model. His is only a six cupper but he is happy with it nonetheless. Since he lives alone, most of his cooking is just for himself. A family should probably look for an 8 cup machine or larger.

Really happy about this!
I was always skeptical of rice cookers; I am old school and make the best rice. However, when my favorite rice pot finally kicked the bucket after 25 years, I decided to give it a try with a rice cooker and I am so glad I did. It was amazing. Perfectly cooked rice! It is not too big to set on the counter or put under the cabinet. It is small and mighty. I was worried it was too small but it makes up to six cups of rice! I used the 2 cups for my husband and I and had left over. When my adult children visit, their favorite meal is pork chops and rice with peas. I can use the 4 cup or six cup. I made it with no problem and rice to spare. I am convinced this is a miracle rice cooker. You can also use it to steam vegetables or cook soup. Many options. I love it.

Great Basic Rice Cooker/Steamer
Not as good as the original, but still fine. This does not have a bell/chime for when it "switches" from cook to keep warm. My old one would have a slight mechanical bell when the switch popped up from cook to keep warm -- no big deal, you've just got to remember to watch it. It's also "On" as soon as you plug it in -- so, if the lever is at keep warm, it's going to start warming as soon as you plug it in. It also will stay on warm forever, until you unplug it. I want to say my original one had an off setting, but I can't be sure. The cord is permanently attached to the cooker -- the old one detached, like an old coffee pot or popcorn maker. It's no big deal, but just something to know. I do find the steaming basket works very well. -- As others have noted, don't blame the cooker, if foam 'escapes' and spurts all over the counter: it's the type of rice and/or the preparation. Rinse rice until the water runs clear and that solves the problem (removing the excess starch). I like it MUCH better than trying to deal with making rice on the stove. And the steaming is very easy, and an added bonus.

Good size rice cooker for 1 or 2 people
This cooker is a great size for cooking 1 cup of raw rice. Good enough for 1 or two people. I've also used it to heat a can of soup or cook a small amount of oatmeal. And the steaming function is good as well. I oft en steam Brussels sprouts at the same time I am cooking rice and it works out well. I have no problems with this cooker. It is small but I am a household of 1 so it works for me. And it is really convenient for a small amount of soup or other canned items.

Fantastic quick meal
This product is phenomenal. Add clean rice, I Add veggie brooth instead of water, add a packet of sazon per one cup rice and a can of washed beans. Turn on the rice cooker leave it read or watch TV or do some laundry come back dinner is ready add some already cooked chicken and Vala you have an amazing comfort fitting decently healthy meal. Highly recommend.

Does the job
Has lasted me since 2018 with no problems other than you have to unplug it after a few min of it being done, otherwise the bottom will get toasty. Other than that it makes the perfect rice every time and can even warm up the rice :)

We were looking for an easy inexpensive way to do rice, this works great
At first my wife was unhappy to be adding another cooking appliance but once it arrived she uses it more than I do. It is small, easy to clean and very simple to cook not only rice but also oatmeal, grits, quinoa, couscous as well as a steamer for veggies or tamales. It's not just for plain rice either as you can easily add spices or broth, I use Better Than Bouillon to add deep flavors. You can also toast rice a but for more texture and flavor. I bought one for my inlaws to use in their kitchen at a retirement community. and they appreciate all the features.

Doesn't make a bad batch of rice
Absolutely love this little kitchen marvel. First-time owner of a rice cooker, Where has this been all my life? Perfect for whipping up a an order of rice for two to four people. White or brown, it's done perfectly. Great for quinoa, too. My only complaint is that once it's done cooking, if you let it sit too long before you fluff, the rice begins to brown on the very bottom. I asked around and this is typical for these little rice cookers. I troubleshot this issue by immediately unplugging and pulling out the pot insert and placing it on the stove or on a hot pad. Overall, would recommend.

Works well
This little rice cooker works well. As in photo box damaged upon receipt. Gratefully the cooker was not affected by the damage. Others mentioned it spraying water from the steam hole. I leave the steamer basket in and no spraying occurs. If you leave the rice in during warming it will get a little toasty on the bottom. The little measuring cup could be a different shape to make it easier to use but is OK. As per the photo the measurement lines are the same colour as the lining pot and nearly impossible to see while in unit. Manufacturing - put four feet on this thing. When moving on counter the 3 foot design is very unstable and wants to tip. Over all great little unit for the money but there are minor things that could be improved.

Great Rice Cooker
We've been using this for several months now, and although I haven't had the opportunity to use its other features, it does the job of rice cooker very well. Exactly like the basic Walmart model I used to have, fill the scoop with water twice for every time you filled the scoop with rice, assemble and turn it on. It's easy, if I put the rice on before I start cutting veggies for stirfry then it's done before I am, and it the removable parts clean easily in the dishwasher. I only put the bowl on the top rack as I've seen a few reports of it warping, but the lid always goes on the bottom and the scoop/spoon go wherever they fit when I'm loading. Everything survives and comes clean easily! The only thing I would say to watchout for is spray during the cooking process. I'm used to some startchy rice water escaping through the vent hole in the lid on a ricecooker and I always set it on a kitchen towel anyway to avoid a mess on the counter, but this particular model requires me to use only my longest towels and arrange them strategically. The vent hole ejects stray rice water forward nearly a foot, and not only does this result in a messy counter, it stings when it gets you as you're cooking nearby!

This rice cooker is the perfect size if you are cooking for one or two. It cooks fast, switches from cook to warm automatically, and it is ridiculously easy to clean.

Love It
I LOVE this rice cooker. First off, it's freaking adorable. I keep it on my counter because it seriously gives me the warm fuzzies. I am a single person and spent a long time searching for something affordable and not for a family of 12. I've used it at least once every single day for the past 4 months for my morning oatmeal. It's so nice and easy to press the button and go shower or whatever. In regards to the bottom sticking issue, I have recently found waiting about 10 minutes after it clicks to 'warm' lets the bottom layer cool off and moisten so it easily releases with the included paddle. For rice it works great. Follow the instructions and everything will be okay. Allow it to rest after it switches to warm for super easy to scrape results. If you are super hungry, open right away and devour scrumptious rice. Let bottom layer soak in sink, it will clean right off. Yes, if you make larger quantities, molten hot water squirts everywhere. This does not bother me, I simply wipe it up. The steamer works like a charm. I usually just put water in the bottom and veggies in the top. If you are some kind of kitchen timing savant, go ahead and put rice in the bottom and then poach salmon and steam asparagus spears in the top so they are all done at the same time. This is a simple unit that brings whatever inside to a medium boil and then flips to warm when most of the water is evaporated because it gets hotter and triggers the thingy inside to pop. Keep adding water and it will go forever. Do with this what you will. It will take a little practice to get things the way you like them, like with any appliance. I religiously use plastic only for cooking and cleaning and the teflon coating is still good as new. For the price this is a really good buy. I recommend this product! :D
