Worked on my Husqvarna yth22v42 with 22hp briggs 40H777 engine, no modification needed
direct fit, no modifications needed for my yth22v42. came with mounting screws, washers, spacing card, and instructions. had to reuse old boot. engine running great again.

New Larger
Ordered as a Replacement for 11 Year Old B&S intec engine. Coil is much larger than original requiring cutting away to aluminum mount and plastic air cover. Instructions on cutting was good with illustrations. The recommended tools I think were dangerous to use by lack of control around obstructions and requiring electricity. I used a hacksaw blade with rag wrapped around. Coil is larger and improved.

weak thin ground tab
Be careful when putting grounding wires on the as the wire tab for the connector is thin and bends easily and these need to be facing down, not up. Make sure the grounding wires are connecting the right way. I used a 1/2 round rasp style bit to grind the fins down, but it take a few minutes. Although the grounding wire might have been bad, it's been suggested to disconnect at least one of the two coils to see if it cures the problem and isn't really needed when the fuel shutoff solenoid is working. I also have old gas and debris in the tank, so the filter will fill up faster. I'll probably take it off and clean it out. The tank is under the seat and metal body on my mower.

Minor trimming will be needed to fit different shape. Includes accurate instructions.

Fixed start issue on John Deere D-100!
Fixed the starting issue on my John Deere D-100. The mower hit 70 hours and the coil gave out. I used a wire wheel to remove the surface rust from the flywheel before installing. The only difference from the original coil is that the spark plug end is at 90 degrees instead of straight and it didn't come with a spark plug insulator. I just transfered the insulator from the old coil and cut a notch . Mower is running like a champ now!

Required modification of the cylinder head to fit my mower
I bought this version because it is a genuine B&S part, so I figured it would fit with no problem. Nope. There's a little note inside indicating you may need to file off some of the cylinder head fin to get it to fit. It was a tight fit for a 4 1/2" grinder wheel, but it was able to do it (maybe a hand file would have worked, would have taken longer). C'mon--for a factory supplied part? I doubt B&S has folks on the assembly line filing away metal for 20 minutes to get the magneto to fit. It is also less beefy (the metal in both armature legs was less thick) than the original part. But, it did work and the mower now runs. I hope it lasts a while. No problem with the seller--the part arrived fast, just as promised.

OEM Part. Cheaper than Parts Distributor and Local Shop
I had a twin cylinder briggs engine with a dead ignition coil, Magneto Armature. No spark. Pulled the ground wire from coil still no spark. Order this one from Amazon. Arrived in a couple of days. Installed new Magneto Armature. set air gap and had a nice blue spark. Still working today.
