space saving unit was easy to assemble
Bought this for books and some bobbleheads. The size is ideal for me as it fits in a space in a bedroom along a wall between a closet and window. Does not block access to the closet at all. Unit was easy to assemble so long as you follow the instructions and you are patient. I highly recommend attaching it to a wall as unit was wobbly until I did. I did not use the enclosed straps and screws to secure to the wall, but rather I used 3M command adhesive strips, attaching 2 at the top of the unit on the back (one on each corner). The books fit nicely on the bottom of the unit while helping anchor the unit, and I spaced shelves for the bobbleheads. Looks great, it is secure and stable with the command strips. For the price, it serves the purpose.

tighten gently!
These look nice in my area and do what I expected them to do... so far anyway. the cam locks are easily bent and the pins are easy to strip out the plastic threads they screw into. tighten gingerly. The bottom board protrudes, so when you nail the backing on, be sure to support the shelving or it WILL break. I have two of these, neither came with instructions. They are where they're going, they will not be moved again.

Looks nice, but very cheap. Building Tips Below
So based on the reviews and the 1 open box item I received, the building process is slightly confusing. I built 2 so far so I think I can help you avoid my mistakes: 1. The dowels do not need to be driven in with a hammer...ever. No yours weren't misaligned. Yes they go in those massive holes where they will be loose. You should be able to slide them in and out with ease. 2. They only really label one of a group of parts and the rest are just packaged with that part. You can usually tell orientation by looking at unfinished and finished sides. 3. Make sure you drive screws in as far as you can with just your hand first. You can usually get them fairly close to all the way in without a tool. If you can't, try re-seating the screw. I tried driving it with a screw driver the full way and it split the wood slightly. It never split when I hand screwed it almost all the way down. 4. More of a recommendation: When you get to step 6 where you are putting on the base (E): Skip to step 7 and hammer in the top G and H back panels while it can sit flat. Otherwise you will need to support the underside while you drive all the nails in. After that put the base on and then put on the final G panel. Back to the review: Do not buy this open box. I got a "Like New" and it was unbuild-able with broken parts. The people returning it for open box probably screwed up the dowels and drove them into the small holes so don't bother. Plus the finish is so cheap that if its not packaged like the original box, there will be scratches all over it. Just save yourself the time and buy new. Pros: -Looks fairly good. I recommend lighter colors if you are torn between multiple colors because the finish is cheap and it will be harder to tell if there are marks. I went black and I'm still happy with it. -Customizable shelves. This is also slightly a con see below. -Fairly easy construction simply because its a lot of repetitive steps. -If you are familiar with IKEA this will be fairly straight forward... but noticeably cheaper. -The back plate is one of the better pieces I've seen for cheaper furniture. Its thick and has pre-drilled holes for the nails. -Multiple look great side by side. Cons: -I'm not convinced these were worth $54. Definitely do not pay MSRP for these. -They are not the most structurally sound shelves. They will sit there just fine but I will be afraid if I ever have to move. -The shelves are not that symmetrical between segments. I set up the top and the middle section the same and one would fit an SNES cartridge and the other would rub on the cartridge. Minor and only an issue if you attempt to put tightly fitting shelves. - The instructions could use some zoomed in segments to clear up a few congested areas. - If you use this for anything bigger than a CD you will not be able to place both shelves in a segment. I wish they included the holes through the entire length of the segment so you could still use some of the extra space. -Only came with the required amount of Dowels. The dowels are very cheap. 1 set was fine but the other had one or two fall apart while picking them out of the bag. Luckily I had extras that worked well enough. -I wish they were taller. This is hardly a con because I knew based on the measurements. But after having them in place a few more inches would have done wonders. Overall they work. I do not need something super sturdy to just sit there and hold a few dvds/games. I will probably purchase more in the future simply because I already have them and they look good together. If I had to do it over again, I would have probably looked for a better solution though

Inexpensive, functional Bluray, DVD & CD storage
I bought 2 of these to store an collection of bluray & DVDs that I had in boxes. I figured for the price ($52 each) it would be cheaper to purchase these then to build myself out of wood. I had absolutely no difficulty assembling the units and I thought the directions were pretty straightforward. The important thing to remember for the assembly is to not over-tighten or force anything. While the unit is made out of particle board, it is engineered such that when all the pieces are assembled, it is secure. I put the units in a closet for easy access. Perfect for my storage needs.

Picture makes product look larger
Be sure you check measurements for what you need. The picture makes the product look larger. However, it works for my use, and I liked the amount of shelves. I actually use it as a mini-pantry in a closet.

Great little shelf for the price
This shelf looks great and is reasonably easy to assemble. But the price reflects the underlying quality. I bought this for my workshop to store nuts and screws on and it is perfect for that. When I completed assembly and went to pick it up some of the bottom attachments pulled out of the sides. I just pushed it back together and it will work for what I need but it is a weak assembly. Do be careful about the depth of the shelf. The depth shown is the depth of the base plate which is wider than the actual shelves which are only about 5 inches.

Cute little shelf fits perfectly in small space
This shelf fits perfect where I needed it to fit. Putting it together was relatively easy. Warning the instructions go from page 2 to 5; they must have decided that pages 3 and 4 were unnecessary, but it was still easy to finish.

A little Wobbly
Although it assembled rather quickly, and looks decent, beware that once you load it up with a couple hundred CD's it is not the sturdiest structure. By design it is thin, narrow and tall and without proper support may topple over. Attach the top to the wall behind it for added peace of mind.

Don't expect too much
Honestly, compared to the price it is not a bad deal. But the poor quality and the slightly complicate assembly make you that probably don't want to put it at your sweet home. So I would recommend it to students.

Good product.
Well constructed and easy to put together. Well designed and for the price very good materials. No assembly directions were included however. I could have figured out the assembly method as it is similar to Ikea but did find the instructions on the U.S. Walmart website. The Atlantic website provided no such info after a thorough search. The tower sits well against the wall on our carpeted floor.

nice media cabinet, good price.
Strong media cabinet, the key is the unit is narrow so the shelves don't droop under the weight like a wider shelf would. I can put 30 cds on a shelf x 9 shelves = 270 cds. DVDs and blue rays are taller so there will be fewer shelves. It was easy to assemble but when you nail the back on start at the bottom and work your way up. I started at the top and the back panel was about 2 or 3 millimeters too long, making the shelf ever so slightly wobbly, I had to cut a little off that panel, but it wouldn't matter at the top because you would never see it up there. I recommend this cabinet, good price too with free shipping

Horrible DONT buy this
The media could not be loaded. Did not go together properly, instructions were backwards and missing holes where holes were supposed to be. Upon getting it together and laying it down to put the back board on it, it was beyond unstable then began to warp and fall apart ultimately coming apart. Can't imagine how sturdy it would be with the flimsy back on and full of things. Worst particle board furniture ever purchased, hard to believe it's $100+ value when it's maybe $25 in parts including the wood.
