Works well, great power adjusting switch.
**I did not get the model shown in the picture with the easy-to-find green power adjustment located mid-powerhead. Be aware that while the functionality, flow rate, etc may be the same, you may get the slightly older model - on the plus side, my model has all black pieces and disappears more easily without the yellow and green pieces** This item works great. Much better than the Penguin version I had previously (the impeller started making a horrible noise a week into using it). I use this as a Co2 injector/disperser and it puts out tiny little bubbles and creates a nice gentle current. The adjustable flow rate is great so that I don't blast my plants with water. I also like that the flex tubing intake is slightly oval shaped meaning that your airline is more difficult to put in but doesn't fall out constantly. The deflector piece is a bit flimsy and not as adjustable/aim-able as the penguin. You can point it up or down but the Penguin allowed you to adjust it left, right, up, or down without turning the bottom piece. The switch to adjust the flow rate is located at the bottom of the head and can be a bit of a pain to get at if you like to constantly adjust the flow rate. While not really necessary, it would be great if the powerhead locked in to the suction cup attachment rather than slide in. While cleaning the tank we have accidentally knocked the powerhead out and it has fallen to the bottom.

My Fish Love It! (And I do, Too.)
I was hesitant to buy a powerhead for my aquarium. After spending hours online debating whether I should just go out and buy a new air pump or take the plunge and buy a powerhead, clearly, I went with the powerhead. The instructions in the package are anything but instructions. They're more like a diagram of what's including inside and outside of the powerhead in several languages. However, I figured it out, and it's currently running perfectly in my tank. The fish love it! They're very active and seem to be enjoying the new current in the tank. I'm also looking forward to using this if there is another sickness outbreak within my little community, as I've read on several sites that the current circulates the medicine through the tank much more efficiently. So far, it's only been a a short time since I've set this up, and I'm very pleased with my decision to buy this. A few reviews said it was loud; maybe it's my hearing only being so-so, but it's pretty darn quiet to me. And personally, I like a little hum to my aquariums. Perhaps it's being drown out by the two filters in my tank, either way, I think it's quiet. I'll be sure to edit my review if for whatever reason my powerhead dies within a short amount of time, but given the fact that all of the AquaClear products I own have lasted me a great deal of time, I'm fairly confident the only editing I will be doing is to reaffirm how pleased I am with my purchase.

I didn't know what I was missing, until I got one of these
I've been an aquarium enthusiast for about 40 years now. Like many of you, I have used (or have tried to use) an air pump to help provide some extra action in the tank. The last brand to make a supposedly "quiet" and premium air pump now makes them so loud that it's impossible to have it in your room. I abandoned the use of them completely. I became curious about the power heads for aquariums. It totally transforms the tank into a much more fun environment for the fish (currents) and adds a huge amount of extra air into the water. You can adjust the air flow all the way down to zero, if you want, which makes it silent (I like quiet tanks). But I keep mine at full bore, with the air running, because it isn't really that loud. You will crack up when you see your previously passive fish become active and begin "body surfing" the currents in your aquarium. Remember the larger tanks at the City aquariums, with all the brisk movement in the tanks? It's like that. It does not overwhelm the fish and they love it. Air and water flow intensity are both adjustable. Totally transforms the tank into something fun for the fish and fascinating for the viewer. Highly recommended. Oh, after I saw how nice it was in my 37 gal., I bought another one for my 29 gal. It's a whole new experience now.

Happy with the purchase
I bought it to replace an old power head in a 30 gallon tank. It has plenty of power, almost too much for the fish in the tank. Thankfully the flow output is adjustable, so it is easy to control how much water it pumps out. It also works quietly.

Not very powerful...
I ordered this product on a Saturday and it arrived the following Monday. I am very pleased on the shipping time. Upon opening the product, I found it rather smaller than I had anticipated. All the pieces were accounted for but the directions were very vague. It wasn’t too hard to figure out, what went where. I tried looking it up on YouTube, and managed to find a video but in a foreign language rofl. Upon putting it into my 46 gallon bowfront, I noticed it was not very powerful. I am currently using an Aquaclear110 and Marineland Penguin 200 for mechanical and biological filtration. The two filters alone move a lot of water and surface agitation. I honestly could not even tell the powerhead was running minus the additional bubbles. I didn’t want too strong of an additional current, just enough to lift the detritus off the surface of my sand and eliminate the dead spots. I tried various positions in my tank, utilized the suction cup brackets putting the powerhead just above my sand substrate, but was not satisfied. The overall product seemed decently made, and probably would have been more than enough in a 30 gallon or less. I have recently returned the product and will be going with a Hydor Koralia instead.

Silent
I've been happy with these pumps for a number of years. The only problem is that the ones that I used to get many years ago would last for several years. The new ones will only last about a year. Still a good pump just have to plan on frequent replacement.

was not "new"
I really like AquaClear products, bu this is supposed to be "new", but not completely. The items were thrown into the box, a piece was missing ans the "protective tab" was broken that indicates that BOTH of these power-head boxes weer open be fore I received them.

The best fish tank powerhead I ever used in 30+ years, super reliable, each lasted 10+ years!
Very strong water flow with lots of bubbles! Efficiently keeping fish tank clear and clean!
